Moriarty Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Hmmm, this will probably change in about 5 minutes, as I haven't let Tre sink in properly yet and I'm going to limit it to 15 songs (which is quite a long album by today's standards): 1. Kill the DJ 2. Wild One 3. Stray Heart 4. Missing You 5. Oh Love 6. X-Kid 7. Makeout Party 8. Brutal Love 9. Lady Cobra 10. Let Yourself Go 11. Nightlife 12. Nuclear Family 13. Fuck Time 14. Dirty Rotten Bastards 15. Drama Queen Drama Queen is the perfect song to leave it on, it baffles me why it is near the beginning of Tre. I also wanted a tracklisting that was a little different than the rest of what's been posted here, so I've put some songs in different places just to be "that guy". Ultimately what I would have done is merged Uno and Tre, cut away some of the flab and released that as an album with a B-Side or two for the singles. Then taken Dos, removed the fancy studio effects, make it sound rawer like Stop Drop and Roll!!! was and then released it as the second Foxboro Hot Tubs record.

GreenCard Yellow Day Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Well, I wanted to leave it open to interpretation. But, if you would like to a see an outline of sorts, here you go: The record begins with an introduction to the main character and his world. In his view, his life has been a mess and waste of time up to this point. Whether it was being forced into being someone he wasn't, losing control of his drug habits, or having his only significant relationship come to an end, his life has been chaotic. He reaches an all-time low opinion of himself (and his environment) and attempts to be numb to it all. However, he quickly sees that he's just continuing his uneventful existence, so he decides to shift gears and get out of his home town. However, while (physically and mentally) preparing himself to leave for the first time, he unexpectedly receives a message from his old girlfriend. She hears that he's leaving and, as a way of sending him off, invites him to come to a party she's attending. He decides to attend. This sparks memories (both good and bad) from their old relationship, which makes him rather tense and puts him in a poor mindset. He expects this encounter to be fairly uncomfortable. When he meets her at the party, things start off a little shaky (mostly due to him, not her), but they sort out their differences and actually agree to meet at least one more time before he leaves. Their second meeting officially sparks a rekindling of their relationship and, of course, makes him reconsider his move. This leads to a wild and exciting several months, until they begin to remember the reasons why they broke up in the first place. Eventually, the relationship comes to a bitter end. Due to his mixed emotions following this second breakup, he falls back into the same depressed state that he was in at the beginning of the record. He deals with this by returning to his old lifestyle involving drugs, spending time with random women, and any other way he can numb himself. Eventually, he takes another good look at himself and his "crowd" and (once again) realizes that he needs to get away from all of this. The record ends with him leaving for good, although he still can't quite get over the only true love of his life (despite all the issues between them). I'm exhausted and wrote that pretty quickly, so I apologize if that was a bit messy. There's quite a bit more to it than that, but (as I said) this was just an outline. That's rad. Now I wanna make a story with a playlist.

Jimmy Dean Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I kind of thought there were two recurring themes throughout the trilogy / breakdown of a relationship/marriage + midlife crises (and BJ seems to be going through one) I think a better setup would have been 2 albums instead of 3 (worked just fine for GNR). Cut the fat. So instead of 3 mediocre, or 1 epic album that sounds too poppy - you get 2 great albums, 1 of which could rank up there between american idiot and warning (insomniac and dookie always gets top prize in my books). As much as I can't stand Oh Love & Fuck Time... it works beautifully in my setup for the breakdown in the relationship themed album. Four Letter Word Side 1 1. Nuclear Family 2. Stay The Night 3. Fuck Time 4. Oh Love 5. Fell For You 6. Wild One 7. Ashley Side 2 1. Stray Heart 2. Missing You 3. Amanda 4. Walk Away 5. Brutal Love 6. The Forgotten 99:1 Side 1 1. Stop When The Red Lights Flash 2. Let Yourself Go 3. Lazy Bones 4. Carpe Diem 5. 8th Avenue Serenade 6. Baby Eyes 7. Amy Side 2 1. 99 Revolutions 2. X-Kid 3. Angel Blue 4. Drama Queen 5. Dirty Rotten Bastards 6. Rusty James

Residue_Ride Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Ahh, I was hopin' someone would make this thread! I actually love the current order of songs (power pop - garage rock - epic), so I'll stick with the order for my list (though See You Tonight into Dirty, Rotten Bastards would definitely be awesome!). My ultimate Uno, Dos, Tre album ... 01) Nuclear Family 02) Stay The Night 03) Sweet 16 04) Rusty James 05) Oh Love 06) Stop When The Red Lights Flash 07) Lazy Bones 08) Stray Heart 09) Lady Cobra 10) Amy 11) 8'th Ave. Serenade (I'm glad to see everyone else loves this, too, even after the reviewer called it forgettable or whatever) 12) X-Kid 13) Walk Away 14) Dirty, Rotten Bastards The other songs are obviously awesome, though!
