Cob Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 8th Avenue Serenade. Son of a bitch that is a solid song. It sounds like...love. The vocal melody is so sweet, but not bubblegum like Sweet 16. It's yearning, longing for something, someone, but at the same time its perfectly content. The song sounds like a spring night, not too hot but not too cold, where you're sitting by your window watching the breeze lift your curtains, like you're waiting for someone special to come. And then the chorus brings a passion, but a quite passion, intense but not outrageous. The guitars are crisp, like the intro to X-Kid. The solo is great to, I've always enjoy Billie's more chord focus solos, like Coming Clean, Deadbeat Holiday, or Pulling Teeth. Very melodic, but in a really solid way, almost like a quiet track off Warning. I can see myself laying on a sleepless night just listening to this one like a lullaby until I doze off. Great, great song.

Breakdown_EE Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 WOW i just finshed a complete tré listen on Canadian Rdio (yes i used a proxy) it is imo the best of the trilogy but i could understand why some (older/classic) gd fans don't like it that much. It has for sure a view of the best GD songs on it. But i don't want to spoil too much, just go and listen yourself

HDtracks, Warner has released American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown, ¡Uno!, and ¡Dos! on there with improved mastering (less dynamic range compression) in studio quality (24Bit/96000Hz) which I only recommend if you have a good pair of headphones and a sound card that can process 24 bit sound, plus they are $18 an album so they pricey for digital. ¡Uno!: Top = Studio Master Bottom = CD/iTunes Master American Idiot: Top = CD/iTunes Master Bottom = Studio Master
Cob Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Aight, decent. Nothing especially original but not as cliche as the Forgotten. Need to see the whole song (and of course hear how it's sung before I judge). The melody is incredible. It's great, familiar yet unexpected.
