How soon is "Coming Soon"?

I don't know yet. I'd like to record some sort of video. Dunno why, maybe to make my mother proud lol. :toocool:

How soon is "Coming Soon"?

Hopefully sooner than the Idiot Club's interpretation of Coming Soon

^haha.

Actually thing's have been delayed (maybe) a moment as I have invited a guest to star on this track. I hope he wants to participate. It would make this even more awesome :)

No more teasers.

I'm terrible at handling surprises and anticipation.

WOO PAPER LANTERNS! :runaround:

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I got a video clip of me trying out "Scattered" ballad style and the pre-recording demo of "Coming Clean" haha, but I didn't upload it because I don't want to overload you guys. Even I get sick of myself :pinch:

Aww, c'mon, you can never have too much Dookiefied, right?!

Still waiting for Paper Lanterns... how soon is "soon?"

:D

Please Dookiefied (sorry I don't know/remember your name) do the world a favour and upload Scattered acoustified. We will never have too much of you, because your talent is amazing. I'm enjoying your covers so much that I'm starting to kinda make an iTunes album with youtube rips  By now I only have Coming Clean and Dreamcatcher but I'm totally gonne get more!

Daniel, can you make the cover sound like the live versions of the song? Is not necessary with the long bass bridge, but a bit faster (:

Posted

Daniel could you pleaaaaaseee give me the chords you use for Missing You acoustic? :)

Posted

I'd love to hear Scumbag, Do Da Da, or On The Wagon Dookiefied! I know On The Wagon was a b side from Longview but it would still be cool to hear it with that "Dookie" sound we all know and love :)

Posted

I wonder how you can Dookiefy Paper Lanterns. Still waiting for Let Yourself Go Dookiefied Guitars, and maybe you could redo Lazy Bones like you did with Kill the DJ.

Haha, actually I think you can. Maybe I'll have a breakdown like Billie :toocool:

You should do a Misery Dookiefication

There's no doubt that I will do Scattered acoustified. It's not only one of my favorite GD songs but it translates really well onto the acoustic guitar. And thank you for the kind words. The support has been amazing!

Hm, I could but I probably won't because the song has more or less been recorded already. Sorry to disappoint you if that's what you expected. :/ I hope you will enjoy it anyways.

I think GDA is working on a chords section. It will probably all be up there :)

I would like to do ALL songs actually. Even the Dookie album. Then I'd like to do them again because there are always ways to make them different. If you guys send me a bag of gold I could quit my job and do this full time :creep:

Hehe, I've actually been taking some heat for this. Well, not heat maybe but it's been questioned a lot. My answer is to not take the "dookiefied" thing too literally. I'm going to try to make Paper Lanterns sound as if it would be recorded for Dookie just like Welcome To Paradise was. That means drop the tuning a half step down, give it a beefed up sound and maybe do something about the solo which isn't very much Dookie at all :) But in the end it's just a cover so enjoy it for what it is :)

You should do a Misery Dookiefication

I totally should and I totally probably will someday when all the other 200 requests have been handled :D

Don't worry, I'll enjoy it anyway. I think that sounds weird that this version will be heavier than the studio version that is already heavy, since it was recorded in D tunning

How big does this bag need to be?

OMG how could I forget your name when it's the same as mine!? I'm a dumbfuck

I dont know if we understood each other, but 39 Smooth was recorded in normal tuning and Dookie half step down which tends to give a darker, more heavier tone. But the point in Dookifying this song is not to make it heavier, I dont think I used that word? I want to make it sound a bit more up to date since 39 smooth is really old and the quality of the recording doesn't really meet up to the standards of today. Doesnt mean I can do it better of course, it only means I will do it my way :)

39 Smooth was recorded half a step down, as far as I know :P

Let me see...1 XAU (The ISO 4217 standard currency code of one troy ounce of gold) = 1677.78 USD. Let's say...100 XAU = 167,754 USD. That would last a few months if I don't party too hard :toocool:

Are you sure? I don't think all of them are and certainly not Paper Lanterns.

I remember reading somewhere that they were. My memory does have a habit of playing tricks on me, don't take my word for it :P
