DTH Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 church of sunday sounded a lot better when you played it a half step lower. it is the same when i play it.... i can't decide if i should sing it in the higher or lower octave when i play it in the original key. and i liked what you did with macys day parade. the first version you tried was some kind of "pulling teethed" if you know what i mean. the second version sounded good as well, classic dookiefied. to come to the point: dookiefie the whole warning album! all those tunes have so much potential.

It's nice getting some insight into the making of this awesome music. It seems like you're getting a little more comfortable in front of the camera! First there was nothing... then just your guitar... now we get to watch you sing! Yay. If the stars ever align and you're in Ohio for any reason (unlikely, since let's be honest, no one ever wants to come to Ohio ) let me know. We need to get drinks and you need to teach me how to play guitar like a badass. Back on-topic to the whole 'Uno Dos Tre recording style' thing - I've just re-watched the Tiki Bar footage, and I think it sounds EXACTLY how they should have recorded it. Nuclear Family sounds so raw, it could easily be on Dookie. Yeeeeeah, they really fucked up with the recording. I've yet to go back and listen to some of the other songs played live now that all the albums have been released (I didn't want to spoil it for myself) but with the exception of Fuck Time I liked the live versions better of all of the songs I heard... I hate Wow! That's Loud on the album, but even that song sounds amazing on that video. Once the tour starts and we get more recordings (and hopefully a live album!) I think it's really going to be apparent how much the recording devalues the songs.

For me almost every song they play sounds better live than on album.

You think? Half step down usually fits me better. Billie Joe can reach a higher pitch than I. My voice is a bit darker I think. I've been listening to Warning a lot these past few days and I realized that those songs are just as dookiefiable as the new songs, if not more so. This thing has turned into something I had NOT expected. 1.300 subscribers on Youtube in just a couple of months O_O This is the 10th Dookiefied release and I have nooooo idea what kind of reactions to expect. I wasn't even sure of releasing this one but here it is, make or break. Thank you all for listening and commenting. It's as much fun reading this thread and getting to know you guys as it is to record the covers and all the nice words and support is really helping me a lot to grow as an artist. I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of the Oh Love cover though, maybe because I actually like the original recording and the whole thing doesn't work here....
