Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Lazy Bones is even better than I'd hoped, and that was easily the song I'd anticipated most, I listened to the preview so many times. It's the best I've heard so far. I love how it cuts out at one point and then comes back in. It's pretty intense and could fit on American Idiot. Not the only song on the album I could say that about either. Baby Eyes sounds like the b-side to St. Jimmy. Both these songs have the poppy yet dark quality to them that all the best Green Day material has. Stray Heart on the other hand is pure pop and is still as fantastic as ever. A few people have mentioned the rap on Nightlife as being a negative and I would have to agree, it's a bit cringeworthy. The first time she does it it's fine, but when she keeps coming back into the song it just gets more and more irritating. Especially the ending, I just wanted it to be over. Which is a shame because it's a decent song with a weird vibe. One rap would have done. I also loved Amy at the end which was a pleasant surprise. I should never have listened to the dodgy recording from the CSI episode, because it sounds a million times better in decent quality. It's a nice little ballad and ends the album better than Oh Love did for Uno.
Sarcasm Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Uno doesn't have any songs letting the side down. Didn't understand this
OneSongInFrench Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Okay, well...um, yeah i'll come back when I have words to describe this album. Right now? My favorite is Amy actually, you can feel the emotion in his voice and its just stripped down to what the situation called for and the song meanings tone...I love it.
Sarcasm Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 someone have the lyrics for Wild One? that's a guessing game. After the Uno leak there was bootleg lyrics all over the place. There will possibly be a thread for that too, depends
Tooooooooooooom Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 After three hours trying, whilst watching all you lot declare how great it is, Dos is finally cumming in my ears. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhh
Hermione Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 someone have the lyrics for Wild One? What Ola said, plus if anyone on here works them out you'll be sure to find them in the Uno Dos Tre lyrics thread
petros Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I really like this album!More than Uno I think... Most songs are unique here. But of course this album has fillers too.
spark in the night Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 It's weird hearing a studio version of Fuck Time. Man good stuff good stuff. Ashley is kinda weird to me. But WILD ONE and MAKEOUT PARTY I was excited for these two since Echoplex. yes yes yes
Pixus Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 EARGASMS. EARGASMS. EVERYWHERE. IT FEELS AS IF BILLIE'S MAKING LOVE TO ME WITH HIS VOICE. OMG. FUCK TIME IS. WOW.
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Didn't understand this I took that bit out because I thought it was pretty unfair to say, but basically I was saying Uno is consistent all the way through whereas this one has a mix of absolute classics, good songs and not so good songs. But since this is based on say 25-30 listens of Uno and only one of Dos it's not a particularly informed opinion.
spark in the night Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Also, there should have been bagpipes at the beginning of Wow! That's Loud
St. Jimmy the Troublemaker Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Lazy Bones, Fuck Time, Amy and Baby Eyes are my favorites. Wild One is boring as hell, I don't know why you guys make a big deal about it and Nightlife sounds just empty and incomplete.
Kaddi. Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I'll only listen to Lazy Bones, because I just can't wait any longer for the full version. The rest will be saved until Friday.
Tooooooooooooom Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Wow, only on Lazy Bones, and so far its just bang-bang-bang. Big love.
Holly Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Can't decide whether to download, I quite want to wait until I have the album, but then I'm at a Frank Turner gig in a different city on Monday and won't be able to listen to it. I should be writing a really important assignment for tomorrow right now though.. I'll download it tomorrow, it's killing me seeing peoples' reactions and tweets about it.
St. Jimmy the Troublemaker Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Wow, only on Lazy Bones, and so far its just bang-bang-bang. Big love. Yeah, that's the problem... After that comes the meh part.
Kaddi. Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Omg, Lazy Bones is just... love. I still have to get used to it not stopping somewhere in the middle though.
spark in the night Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 fucking. love. it. If I weren't at work right now, I'd be doing that Billie dance in your sig
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I think the bit in Makeout Party where he first says "fuckin'" will always remind me of him playing it on Radio 1 and Zane Lowe getting all exasperated and him being like "what? I paused it" Omg, Lazy Bones is just... love. I still have to get used to it not stopping somewhere in the middle though. Well, technically...it still does
Sarcasm Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Gotta say that Lazy Bones is still as amazing as when it got played a while back. It's truly a fine song :3
