! Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Well I've been reading a lot of reviews for the album and most of them are positive, whereas Uno was more positive-mixed. I prefer Uno, but it's good to see Dos getting so much love.
inthehallwaynow Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I think everyone who dislikes a majority of the songs on the album will dig them more when they see and hear it live
Silverlight Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I'm a bit late to the party when it comes to me posting in here, but I think this album is brilliant. I love it's energy and vibe. Heck, It's pretty much the only thing I've been listening to since I brought it home on Friday night. I do find a bit of a Tubbies feel from listening to it, but it's still Green Day. Even if it's a slightly different approach in comparison to their previous releases. I'd have to say, my personal favourites, in no particualr order, are Lazy Bones, Wild One, Stray Heart, Wow That's Loud and Fuck Time. I'm not terribly fond of Amy and Night Life, but they're growing on me.
Clayish Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Well I've been reading a lot of reviews for the album and most of them are positive, whereas Uno was more positive-mixed. I prefer Uno, but it's good to see Dos getting so much love. Not at all. The reviews for Dos have been almost all meh. Uno was received way better.
Gregorovich Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Sputnik Music are a bunch of idiots. I've never seen a positive review of a good album from them; all their 'staff' aren't professional enough to work at McDonalds and it's dribbling fanbase congregate more hate than Daily Mail readers. So it doesn't surprise me that they don't want to give a popular album a good rating. Anything more mainstream than Hardcore Norwegian Trance won't get more than a 2/5 with these guys. Needless to say they wouldn't know a good album if it shafted them with a six-foot vibrating guitar neck. [/rant]
FoxboroBoy93 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Ok, I'm trying really hard to find it again, but there was this freakin awesome ad on Youtube about DOS! and it started kinda like this One Bike / Two Bike BETTER One Woman / Tow Women BETTER One Album / Two Albums DOS! Out now! It was so awesome, I've been reloading videos over and over just to try and see it again and record it so I can show you guys. If you guys find it, and record it, post it here! Thanks! And if you see it, tell me what you think

1039SweetChildren Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Sorry if someone posted this info already, but HDD predicts the album will sell 65-70k in its first week, which might be enough for top 5 depending on how some of the competition fares. http://www.hitsdaily...gi?news09195m01

TheGrouch33 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 American Idiot is still their best album, but their are some good songs in UNO and DOS Sputnik Music are a bunch of idiots. I've never seen a positive review of a good album from them; all their 'staff' aren't professional enough to work at McDonalds and it's dribbling fanbase congregate more hate than Daily Mail readers. Warning and Insomniac are really appreciated in the site and its obvious why. We have to understand that their are going to be differing opinions about an album.
! Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Not at all. The reviews for Dos have been almost all meh. Uno was received way better. Well I typed green day in on Google, and I have yet to read a truly negative one. I'm not saying everyone likes it, but I believe the majority prefer Dos over Uno, because almost in every review, people are saying it's a step up from the first in the trilogy,
TheJedi Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I love Dos, but i think i prefer Uno. i love all songs on that one.. im probably the only one with this opinion x)
spark in the night Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 GreenDay.com jumped on the fan promotion bandwagon. fuckers.
Mauri Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 A shitty fact - The uncensored version is still not available in Argentina, you can only get the clean one so far...
The Snark Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Whereas Uno was love at first listen, it's going to take awhile for Dos to grow on me. It's like a new GD/Foxies/Network cd all rolled up in one. First I listened to it all the way through, and then instead of playing it again, I kept repeatedly going back to a few songs. Lazybones sounds like it could be a B-side from Warning. I can also picture it being in the AI musical. Fuck Time is hilarious and I can't stop listening to it. Amy is gorgeous and makes me want to cry. I love the lines: 'May I have this last dance, By chance if we should meet?, Can you write me a lullaby?, So we can sing you to sleep'. Ugh...it kills me. And I'm going to be the odd-girl out, but I absolutely love Nightlife! It's so different and I love Lady Cobra's voice. It seems very Network-y to me.
Mykee Mexx Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Not at all. The reviews for Dos have been almost all meh. Uno was received way better. How funny, ´cause I find Uno rather boring and meaningless.
Clayish Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 How funny, ´cause I find Uno rather boring and meaningless. Awesome.
DookieLukie Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Check out this article. Predicts Dos to sell about 65k to 70k copies. Which would be a low top 10 debut. Eeek. http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news09195m01
Sarcasm Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Check out this article. Predicts Dos to sell about 65k to 70k copies. Which would be a low top 10 debut. Eeek. http://www.hitsdaily...gi?news09195m01 with so much material at once you can't expect super high sales on all 3 albums, put together they will have sold quite a bit though. I doubt this is what they had in mind whilst making the trilogy.
1039SweetChildren Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Considering the absence of promotion, I think that's a decent debut.
November's Storms Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 You can't really judge album sales as an accurate sign of how well an album is doing. Loads of people are just going to download this, whether legally or not. People will share it with friends after that. Short of Adele's 21 there's no recent albums living up to the levels of 10-20 years ago.
Doris The Spider Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 In my opinion some of the songs kind of seem to have simplistic lyrics. I also think a lot of the songs on Dos are all the same but just with different words. But I think that's just me. :/
spark in the night Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 can't stop bobbing my head forward and backward to Wild One It's one of my favorites off Dos. a lot of people here don't like it. boo
The Grohl Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 can't stop bobbing my head forward and backward to Wild One It's one of my favorites off Dos. a lot of people here don't like it. boo I like it a lot actually. I do think it drags on a bit, but the song is good so I don't mind much
