I was kind of expecting it tbh, I'm just glad that they're not rushing to get back out there and not let us down etc. because that could be so much more detrimental to Billie right now. At least, we know that when they do come back hopefully in the Spring, Billie will be back on top form and they'll pump out some of the best live shows ever. I think it's really sweet of them to move the release date of Tre for us though, they didn't need to do that but they did because it's a real bum-out for anyone who's bought show tickets etc.

So what happens to those who bought the tickets to one of the shows in 2013?

Will we get an email from Ticketmaster or where ever saying about how to get these tickets for the new dates?

The press release says we will be able to use our current tickets for the new dates so I guess we just have to wait and see when those new dates will be.

Of course my first GD show gets postponed.

I'm right there with you. I swear, when I finally get to see them in person, my heart is going to explode after nearly a decade of teasing and anticipation.

I can only speak for myself, but I know that my disappointment over this is not meant as a way to blame or be angry at Billie. While Billie's issues may have lead to all of this, that doesn't mean that I am mad at Billie, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm sure the band is bummed about canceling and postponing these dates, so it's unreasonable to expect that we aren't upset, either. But, expressing our disappointment doesn't mean that we're angry at Billie and the band. I can be angry about my show being postponed while also wishing for the best for Billie. So, please don't act like we're horrible people for being upset. Now, if I said something like "BILLIE JOE SUCKS HE'S MAKING ME MISS A SHOW!" then, yeah, that's dickish. But please don't hold it against us for being upset about this, no matter why it came about. Some of us are more upset than others, but that doesn't mean we're trying to lessen Billie's issues.

Exactly. Although everyone is saying "I don't care the dates are cancelled/promotion isn't happening, his health is more important, etc." I think it's safe to say many people DO care, and at least feel a little upset, but maybe don't want to admit it for fear of being perceived as heartless. It doesn't mean we're angry at Billie... You could maybe compare it to disappointment a parent feels when their child messes up or is in a less than ideal situation. You care about them, so that's why it hurts so much. Seeing this trilogy and its promotion failing compared to its expectations is really saddening. And yes, I'm disappointed too. But it doesn't make me any less of a fan.

At least, we know that when they do come back hopefully in the Spring, Billie will be back on top form and they'll pump out some of the best live shows ever. I'd say spring is pretty optimistic. This stuff takes a while. And also, I'm not even a little convinced GD moved the release date of Tré just "for us." It sounds nice from a PR standpoint, sure, and I wish that was why it happened, but IMO it's more of an "abandon ship" mentality. ¡Uno! sales weren't the best, they aren't around to promote ¡Dos! and ¡Tre! right now, Warner probably doesn't want to deal with the mess... So they'll just squeeze whatever money they can out of the albums through Christmas sales, avoid the dead period in January, and just move on. It's heartbreaking.

The Trilogy isn't that good

wut we dont even have it yet

I sort of thought this might happen, Billie probably would have gotten into an even worse state with the tour. People can't expect him to jump back on stage again like that, problem free.

Feel sorry for all the people who are missing out/their date is getting postponed. You'll see them eventually don't worry.

They'll definitely make it up to the fans somehow.

The tickets you received already will be accepted at the rescheduled date.

Well. I woke up today and saw the press release. I'm actually not all that disappointed as I thought I would be. I guess in the back of my mind I was kinda expecting it, but if it helps Billie and the band out by not having to worry about it, then they can take their time. I'll still be at the show I proudly got my first floor tickets for :) as for Tre being released early...I don't have a problem with that either

I wonder if at this rate the US tour will be pushed back to 2014.

well fucky do-da

seriously the first statement that came to mind.

at least I'll get all 3 albums before new year

I'm relieved they're doing it this way. Who cares for a few months, I want them healthy and strong.

Am I the only one who doesn't think a "few" months is going to be enough time? Like, it could be a while?

Treatment can take a long time I suppose. I'm glad that Mike said Billie is doing great with his treatment.

Perhaps this should be pinned?

No you're not because I actually feel the same way. If this rehab thing is as serious as they're making it out to be, then I don't see how just " a few months" is going to cut it.

The Trilogy isn't that good

That's just YOUR opinion

I love the trilogy

Sure it could. And they should take as much as time they need.

Well, at least we'll get to hear iTré! before the world ends!!!!

I was already expecting those shows to be postponed/canceled.

I guess it all depends on the severity of his addiction.

Some people have a 30 day rehab, some people have a 90 day rehab, other (more extensive) treatments can take a couple of years to complete.

We will just have to wait for some updates to see. I honestly think 3-6 months will be his rehab time but I'm just having wishful thinking. :pinch:

Yeah it is disappointing right now to find out you will have to wait to see that concert you've been waiting for since the dates were released, but come 2013, you'll probably be over it and looking forward to whatever time you will get to see them. I know I will.

This is too bad, but I've been anticipating this happening. I was going to two of the January dates (Pittsburgh and Fairfax), depends on when they get re-scheduled to. Bummer, nonetheless. Still, I've already seen them 3 times...I really feel for everyone whose first GD concert got canceled/postponed. Hopefully there will be plenty of opportunities down the road.

This has to be especially difficult for the band, after everything they put into making this trilogy + all of the promotional stuff that goes along with it. It's obviously serious, and as others have stated, whatever Billie's problems are aren't going to be resolved if they have to immediately go back on tour. This was the right decision by the band, as difficult as it may be. I hope he gets well, first and foremost, and they are able to come back stronger.

I just got off the phone with TicketMaster and they know nothing about it. go figure. and depending on how far back the show is pushed i won't be able to make it.

I'd expect them to reassess in the spring how things are going and make further decisions about the tour then. If Billie's ready, they'll get back on the road. If he isn't, they won't.

I had a feeling the shows this year would get cancelled, but am a little surprised the jan and feb shows are postponed too. But Billie's health is most important, I'm glad he's taking the time he needs to get 100% back on his feet.
