Stuart&Ave Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 What happened in Argentina? Oups, not Argentina, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. This is a video Maybe he was just really into the song...Anyway, it's kind of off topic.
deadair Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 By the end, you've got a half-crazed, half-drunk, half-stoned looking man staggering around on stage, forgetting his lyrics, stumbling through his guitar riffs, climbing speakers and falling into the crowd, doing whirling dervishes and silly dances on stage (what an early childhood development professional would call "sensory-seeking behavior") just doing whatever he could to grind himself through the rest of the set. That is not the Billie Joe Armstrong I came to know and respect during the last two tour cycles. THIS! It was very sad to see Billie in the state he was in during the last couple live performances. I'm not saying all of their performances this year sucked, because that's far from the truth. Looking at video & audio of most of the summer European & Japanese shows, they still put on an amazing show. They were able to pull that off since Billie is a natural performer. It's easier to internalize your inner demons and "go on with the show". But like many things in life, if you don't deal with them, at some point they will come back to haunt you. I remember looking at footage of their concert in Konstanz, and after the final encore of Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life), Billie left the stage and a few minutes later he came back just in his underwear, mooned the crowd, and ran off for the final time. I know Billie used to know a lot of that kind of thing back in the late 1990s, but at this point in his career I thought it was odd. He seemed over-the-top wild, not just his energetic self. Then, the next day I read about the Bologna show being cancelled, that's when I had a feeling that something was amiss and it might be a little more than food poisoning. Of course, it was downhill from there, as it has been previously mentioned that he was chugging a lot of beer and supposedly puking during the Irving Plaza show, and it was painfully obvious at the iHeart Radio Music Festival show. Point is, I'm just glad Billie is taking the time getting the help he needs. If he kept going, not only would have it been bad for his health, those kinds of things could have possibly broke up the band. I'm a huge fan of the band Pantera and towards the end of their career, the last two albums of touring, their singer Phil Anselmo was on Heroin every night and like the way Bastard of 1967 is alluding to Billie, Phil was stumbling around the stage, ranting, and singing/screaming off-key into the mic. Phil's use of heroin and how he treated people when he was on it, was one of the biggest reasons Pantera broke up. A few years later, guitarist Dimebag Darrell was murdered at a side project show with drummer/brother Vinnie Paul surviving. Phil never got a chance to apologize to Dimebag about the fucked up things he said to him while he was on heroin and Vinnie has held a grudge against Phil since then. I would never want to see this kind of disharmony with Green Day.
EmmaCharlatan&Saints Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I don't want Billie to be sober. I hope he comes back to the stage making fun of the whole thing. I was already missing the Geek Stink Breath-style that they had back in the day. I don't want him to come back like some weird sober responsible has-been. Have we ever really known a sober Billie? Say all you want about how he could have died but let's get real. The kid took drugs for most of his life and never had a meltdown. So he got drunk in Vegas, big fucking deal. Since he seemed totally fine before, I still get the impression that Warner or ClearChannel or whoever are behind this whole thing. He was an alcoholic back in the Insomniac days and he didn't seem like the type to volunteer for rehab. I don't know. From what we were seeing, he seemed like he was happier than ever. His family and everything seem almost too good to be true. There's such a stark difference between what his problems were back in the day to recently, so I have a hard time believing that he's having a crisis now. Tre coming out early makes me sad because it WILL be a flop. That means there will be virtually ZERO promo for any of the albums. And think of how long it'll be until they make a new album, for real. At least we'll get it before the apocalypse XD but I may just wait until January to listen to it. I'm not sad about my concert being moved, I just hope I don't have to wait a whole year. I wish we could get a statement from Billie because right now, watching this whole trilogy thing fall apart piece-by-piece is just tragic. They were off to such a good start. Lol really? REALLY? My god do realise how stupid that sounds. Do you still believe its some sort of PR stunt. FUCK OFF!! If you have nothing enlightening to add to the discussion I suggest you go live out your silly little fantasy somewhere else. Seriously was talking to some one like you the other day. Okay he has done drugs okay. Yes that certainly doesnt equal an addiction. BUT he said himself he has problems with alcohol in the past. '' Say all you want about how he could have died but let's get real'' Get real !! Life or death couldnt be anymore real. Mike has said it. Billies life was in danger and people like you who deny it or pass it off as nothing piss me the fuck off. Seriously go spout your bullshit else where please. And stop being so fucking selfish and whiny
germanfuzaloo Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Oups, not Argentina, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. This is a video Maybe he was just really into the song...Anyway, it's kind of off topic. Come on now, Billie used to wear a leopard thong during King For a Day. I don't think it's out of the ordinary for him to take off his clothes
Stuart&Ave Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Come on now, Billie used to wear a leopard thong during King For a Day. I don't think it's out of the ordinary for him to take off his clothes Haha, I know. It was more about the vibe/feeling.
Slave To The Network Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 he was staggering and puking onstage during irving plaza... you can bet that the "little bit of beer" he drank onstage wasnt his only juice for the night. And saying that age has nothing to do with it because he looks 40 is kind of dumb. its like saying the twilight guy isnt a pedophile ( ). yes he seemed fine during the 21st century breakdown tour because he probably was, this thing has been progressing and its been painful to watch. Look back on the footage of Green day playing oh love on that Japanese tv show. It's more subtle but billies definitely out of it. I swear when they walk out he leans over a smells one of the girls... i swear! anyway this comment probably wasnt necessary but i really stand behind bastard of 1967' comment. Maybe so. I just think people are being way too hard on him. Sure there's some stuff to be critical of, but just think how he feels right now. He's probably the most critical of all. This must just be horrible for him. Anyway, whatever. I don't recall the Japanese performance of Oh Love you are referring to. Got a vid?

I dont think anyones denying that. the original comment you responded to was merely trying to get people to understand the severity of the situation, i dont think they were blaming Billie. if anything they were defending his from someone who was pretty much saying train wreck billie is more fun... like what is that? anyway, i cant find a video that has the little interview they did before this performance so i cant show you... meh. hes the performance anyway if you still want http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExY4CUeoINM&feature=endscreen&NR=1
deadair Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 anyway, i cant find a video that has the little interview they did before this performance so i cant show you... meh. hes the performance anyway if you still want Cool! Never saw that before. Did the TV air any other songs? I recall stumbling across the setlist and it including Kill The DJ, Stay The Night, 99 Revolutions, and possibly another song or two.
farley drexel hatcher Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 He was a bit sick briefly toward the end of Irving, it wasn't like he was chucking up throughout, and some people said that was the best they've ever seen him so perhaps it was a better day for him or something. Perhaps it's just a case of his particular mood mixed with drink, not that I want to try and speculate or anything.
Sanity Loan Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Bastard of 1967 for President He's a Democrat. Please, no Love him though.
Don't Wear It Out Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Hi. I'm pretty new to this (first time I've posted :L) But does anyone in England know if Green Day are coming any further North than London?
germanfuzaloo Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 He's a Democrat. Please, no Love him though. Haha your signature completely describes my signature
Sanity Loan Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Haha your signature completely describes my signature I had to go look at my profile and see what my signature was. And I laughed. But if it's like yours, it wasn't directed towards anyone specific.

There's so much going on now that I don't understand what anyone is trying to say anymore. Ha ha! But why the hell would anyone say that this horrible situation makes Billie more fun?! That is completely out of line! That's like saying they're totally okay with his suffering as long as they get a show out of it. Those people are off their rockers for sure! I definitely agree with that. Thanks for the video!
Hermione Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Hi. I'm pretty new to this (first time I've posted :L) But does anyone in England know if Green Day are coming any further North than London? Welcome! We don't know where they're playing yet, they're playing a show at Emirates Stadium in London in June but as yet they haven't announced a full UK tour. If and when they do it's extremely likely they'll play some shows in the North though, they have on every other tour they've done here. Just have to wait for them to announce more dates
Psycho Britney Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 It's funny I was thinking the other day about the North American tour. I did wonder if it would be rescheduled, but then I thought since how we hadn't heard anything, it would be going ahead. I guess this isn't totally out of the blue, though it's disappointing and a shame. But if in the long term Billie isn't ready, and he needs more time, then it's good that he has been given it. We all want to see a happy and healthy GD return, and I'm just hoping this is a step in the right direction.
stories and songs Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 The guys are going to make this up to the fans in a huge way when they're able to, no doubt. I'm sure they hate having to cancel/delay shows and know it'll disappoint people, but I'm really glad that they made this decision. Billie's health is what is most important, and I would absolutely not want him to push himself to tour when he's not ready. He's the type of musician who WANTS to give his best in every performance, and I want him to be able to do too, when he's well. As for the discussion about Billie seeming "off" - honestly, this entire promotional tour he has seemed off. Not even just strange behavior on stage, but even in interviews, I was getting such weird vibes. And at the time, I thought it was all in my head. He just wasn't acting like himself - I know some said that the guys seemed really happy, but I kept feeling like the happiness/excitement felt forced or something. I don't know. Things just felt very weird to me. This is just an observation, obviously. Not at all meant to be a criticism, just a reflection of perhaps some signs of bad stuff boiling under the surface. And to the person talking about "sober Billie" not being fun and all of that silliness - sober Billie happens to be someone I really, really respect and love. He's plenty funny and talented and fun on his own. And yes, I do believe that we have seen a sober Billie a lot in recent years. I think about how awesome he was in the AI musical - I was SO proud when I saw him perform in that. He was amazing. I'd love to have that guy back, because he's pretty damn cool if you ask me. I just want him back to being healthy and hopefully happy.
Homero Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Oh man I was reading the comments on this page and I got all worried for Billie again (last time was after the iheartradio festival). When this happens, I just want him to post something on Instagram Anyway, my best wishes goes to Billie, and I hope they come back next year with the best tour ever. At least we will have the trilogy complete on the next months

When that Billboard stuff came out and commenced all the promos. The video of them being interviewed. I had this weird feeling around me looking at Billie and looking at Mike and Tre. Usually I see Tre smiling alot and maybe crack a few jokes but he didn't seem comfortable, as did Mike. And I noticed in alot of the photos, something strange about Billie, it just didn't feel like how I would feel like looking at any Green Day band photo. He just didn't seem all there. To me. And as I watched the live videos the band didn't have the energy I usually feel. Esp. 99 Revolutions at Summer Sonic. Everyone was off. During the bridge noticeably. And Billie's voice didn't have that pump I feel when I hear it, he sounded like if Tom Delonge actually sang well. Everything just felt OFF once they started getting out there. I honestly felt like, man. Everything's happening so quick. They should just have this stuff being in 2013. And if they did, i feel like this mess wouldn't be so bad. The band would settle down, clear their minds probably and get into a good state. But that's what I felt. I don't know if this has been going on, even beforehand... Foxboro Hot Tubs and NY right ? I remember somewhere someone mentioned about how Billie shouldn't be left alone on the streets of NY ? Is that correct ?
Mozzabillie Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Two Green Day shows canceled on me in a 3 month period. (Both club shows too). I was going to Reno. That makes 4 out of 5 shows cancelled for me. I was going to the Fillmore in SF, Sacramento, Reno, and Santa Cruz shows. At least the Las Vegas show is suppose to still be happening...for now. Hopefully it will be somewhere between March, April, May or June. It definately shouldn't be after the European tour. Maybe they should do it in the summer instead if not in the Spring. They would want Billie Joe to be in the US and close to home and family when he first goes out on tour. That would be the best thing for his health. His health is the most important thing to consider after all!

Alan86 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 The title has annoyed me slightly for a few days now. There should be a 2nd "L" in cancelled.
