Looks pretty legit to me guys

Oddly, the iTunes on my phone states the 7th while iTunes on my iMac states the 15 Jan date still. I bet no one knows. Ha!

They have mentioned before pre AI that they didn't give 2 shits if warning didn't sell well - their opinion might have changed now but who knows :(

i dont mean because the album didnt sell means they consider it a failure or it would stop them from doing what they do, i just mean they must care about sales. how could you not?

More interesting now looking at these tracklists for Tre on iTunes and whatnot, it's the first time I realized that there are only 3 songs labeled explicit on that album, and one of them I'm fairly certain is a ballad (Missing You) And we've heard 99 Revolutions which only has one "fuck" in it. A lot less explicit than Uno and Dos, that's for sure!

Got the same feeling. I keep trying to justify it in my head, but I don't know. I get the feeling that the trilogy is going to get swept under the rug, so to say. Like, it seems like no one (specifically Warner) is as confident about the trilogy as they were when Uno was released, and now they're trying to deal with Dos and Tre in a pretty haphazard way. Probably just being paranoid, but again, who knows.

The fear I have is that Warner has taken a look at the UNO album sales ( half a million right now I think ) and decided that the trilogy just isn't gonna work and rush the TRE date forward to put it under the rug and move on :/

The paranoid person I am is worried that IF this move is true (I still maintain it's an iTunes/Warner/whomever fuckup until I hear officially), this is why. I'm worried that this is a sign that the powers that be (and I include the band in that grouping) are cutting their losses, maybe canceling the tour, not doing promo, whatever.

But, again, I'm reserving actually believing that until we know for sure and I'd like to be wrong. ;) I'd like for this to be another GDC overreaction for sure.

Now I am just over - reacting

We all have fears and we all want green day to be successful in this trilogy. :)

Time to start thinking positive I guess :3

At the end of the day though, I don't really care. I don't care about promotion and I don't care about public image because I listen to Green Day for myself and I know that I'll be getting three great albums that I'll enjoy from my favourite band and that's all I can really be assed to focus on. They are still millionaires and most people know at least a few of their songs, so I'm not exactly upset.

That's exactly my feelings. The only thing I'm afraid about is touring, cause in the end of the day, band can just upload their new songs on YouTube and we will hear it, but touring actually requires certain level of promotion and all the management stuff. Anyway, we all should really wait for something official.

Kinda funny how a song titled "Sex, Drugs & Violence" wouldn't be explicit. But then again, we got Blood, Sex, and Booze, which is personally one of my favorite songs!

i would think that the only problems with the tour is Billies health, they would not cancel the tour to "cut their losses". The tour is where all the money is these days

Maybe it goes like "Sex, drugs and violence are bad! Don't do drugs, kids!"

Haha. True. And another one... "Brutal Love" Now, I could see how that song could be dirty...but again, it's not; and we have a song titled "Missing You" that is.

I don't think they really care. They seem like people who are genuinely in music to make good music that they like, not just to make money. But I mean they're only human, and they obviously want what they put out in the world to do well and be successful, everybody would. I don't think they care more than the average person would though.

I meant cutting their losses when it comes to the album and its level of sales, radio play and cultural awareness, but I didn't word it properly

just to clear i'm talking about the movement of albums, not making money specifically. I dont think they care about the money

oh i see, i got you now

and we have a song titled "Missing You" that is.

One Russian punk pand I used to listen to, has a song titled "Missing you" (In Russian, but anyway). It's about guy who is sitting in the toilet and jerking off remembering his ex-girlfriend. So don't trust song titles, never.

I know you are :) we all know they don't care about how much money they make and that is one of the many reasons why i love green day ..... They care about music , themselves , their fans , family and friends :)

I can't believe people don't like the trilogy idea... :ermm:

WE GET THREE FREAKIN' GREEN DAY ALBUMS!

I'm gonna get crucified for saying this but honestly uno didn't do good, LYG was a semi hit oh love and kill the dj did okay and stray heart is bombing considering there's no promo for it and I think they're cutting their losses, I don't think the tour would get cancelled but I doubt It would've bombed this bad if they had a good promo and certain singers controlled themselves a little bit more

I was always worried that this whole trilogy idea's .... More or less shit. Eveyrthing's going downhill - I don't like it.

To fans it's a wish that came true. To Warner and (maybe) the band, it's a shitstorm waiting for fail (possibly.) Music wise, it's an amazing concept. PR, money, whatever it is that's professional-wise, it's hell. (probably.)

If only they had more time to think this through. Honestly, this trilogy juts felt rushed, all this shit happened. And now we're stuck in the dust, no good promotions for Stray Heart or anything post-iHeart Radio, in my opinion. And if they did something along the lines like Smashing Pumpkins with Mellon Collie and split in into two CDs in one packaging it would've been easier (maybe) and have a string of singles for the next year and a half...

Maybe I can get the trilogy just in time for christmas then :)

I don't know what's going on, but the band and the label must have their reasons. As I have said before, only thing that can piss me off about this trilogy, is if they don't include central american tour dates. Which most likely will happen, but oh well :)

yeah its doing the same for me

I'm with you except for the part about Billie. None of us know what's going on/ what happened to him, but according to Mike he had been fighting through his own demons. It's easy to call him out and say "he could've controlled himself better", but we don't know what type of fight he was going through. There's only so much a person can take before it gets out of hand and overpowers them, which seems like is what happened to him.

Although, it's hard to tell what would've happened had Billie been ok enough to do promos. I mean, even though he was gone, Uno still had a decent amount of promotion (especially after the iHeart thing) and still pretty much tanked.
