Whatsinaname Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 This is an amazing concert...Green Day would have rocked it the best. Wow, just wow for now...
blitzkriegdeb Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Can't believe MTV isn't airing it, I'm pretty sure they had ads on for it and everything.
Mar Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 My issue isn't even with the idea of MTV not playing a concert ... it's the idea that they're not playing a BENEFIT concert, if that makes sense. Like, obviously Viacom has a stake in it and is supporting it, but MTV can't air it! And lol at Billie's 1-1 on using "it's" bless you Billie

Heather. Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Watching Michael Stipe do Losing My Religion with Chris Martin and I can't help but think it should have been Billie.
gerardsangel4977 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 It makes me oddly warm and fuzzy knowing Billie is watching And you said it, Billie, fuck MTV!
yuan Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 my heart was stopping for a sec when they called Billy Joel..
Firecracker Lell Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 MTV doesn't deserve airing that concert! It was epic The legend says MTV stood for music tv, now stands for Moron/Money ? Billie's so damn right!
tvrman Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 http://statigr.am/p/345168647966446960_208612324 From a UK perspective; Ok Billie, fair enough. I gave up on MTV long ago, but the only time I watch MTV is to see premieres of Green Day videos. WTF !!, why are you letting your music premiere on MTV rather than eg Kerrang or Scuzz ?
Skull_Throne Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 http://statigr.am/p/345168647966446960_208612324 From a UK perspective; Ok Billie, fair enough. I gave up on MTV long ago, but the only time I watch MTV is to see premieres of Green Day videos. WTF !!, why are you letting your music premiere on MTV rather than eg Kerrang or Scuzz ? Because we still have VH1.

I gave up on MTV long ago, but the only time I watch MTV is to see premieres of Green Day videos. WTF !!, why are you letting your music premiere on MTV rather than eg Kerrang or Scuzz ? Because those channels don't exist in the US Here in the states, it's pretty much MTV (and it's various offspring), VH1 (which is owned by the same parent company as MTV), or poor fledgling fuse....and even then, not all cable and satellite providers carry fuse last I checked. So, yeah. And, obviously, if MTV has the premiere stateside, they're naturally going to extend that privilege to their international outlets.
tvrman Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 And, obviously, if MTV has the premiere stateside, they're naturally going to extend that privilege to their international outlets. No it is not obvious. eg Warner should (and maybe do) give MTV only US rights, after all you can only watch videos at mtv.com if you are in the US. Warner then opt to make the rights international. Give other countries a chance to premiere GD videos on non-MTV channels. And then look at Quatro, only been shown in the US, give that to eg Kerrang in the UK or other channels in other countries and they will bite your arm off to be able to show it.

Give other countries a chance to premiere GD videos on non-MTV channels. I meant that MTV would obviously want to air any video premieres on all their channels, if possible. Why would they ever not? For all we know, they could even have some sort of clause in deal that says they get all or nothing.....and you'd be hard-pressed to find a major label who's going to say no to Viacom, knowing that MTV and VH1 are the only universally accessible music video channels in the country. That said, given the fact that they have international branches, I've always found it strange that MTV geoblocks their videos for streaming....
Todd Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 @bj_unoxx ¡Happy Green Day! So on itunes its "Little Boy Named Train" But on the cd its "A Little Boy Named Train" ???
Anja Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 So on itunes its "Little Boy Named Train" But on the cd its "A Little Boy Named Train" ??? I just noticed that too when I got the CD. It will always be "Little Boy named Train" to me without the article. Doesn't make much of a difference anyway but it's still quite weird.
Marrymebilliejoe Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Treleparc: Tre takes the best scenic pics...like ever.
Eisen Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Treleparc: On the comments, someone has asked who Drama Queen is about, and Tré has answered them "Probably you" haha
Rumpelstiltskin2000 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 On the comments, someone has asked who Drama Queen is about, and Tré has answered them "Probably you" haha Nice one Tre!
farley drexel hatcher Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I'm going to start saying 'marathon of ridiculousness' from now on http://statigr.am/p/345168647966446960_208612324 From a UK perspective; Ok Billie, fair enough. I gave up on MTV long ago, but the only time I watch MTV is to see premieres of Green Day videos. WTF !!, why are you letting your music premiere on MTV rather than eg Kerrang or Scuzz ? They usually do premiere on Kerrang. All the 21cb videos did save for perhaps one or two. And it's usually MTV rocks that plays them anyway, as opposed to actual MTV.
Pieces of Truth Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Sandy He said my name. ~(^.^)~ And I wish I could've watched the benfit concert. Damn.
Hermione Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I don't have and have never had MTV so I don't care . But I enjoyed Billie's comment anyway. I'm going to start saying 'marathon of ridiculousness' from now on On the comments, someone has asked who Drama Queen is about, and Tré has answered them "Probably you" haha LOL brilliant!
spark in the night Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I think "ridiculousness" is actually the title of an MTV show. But I could be wrong.
