I don't know if the expressions exist in english, but in french we have «Fière comme comme un coq» (Proud as a rooster) (this expression also exists with a peacock instead of a rooster, but we don't care about the peacock in this case) and «Combat de coq» or «Se battre comme un coq» (Rooster's fight / Fighting like a rooster).
