San Miguel Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Can't stop listening to this song. Together with Stay the Night this is absolute genius. This has to be a single as the world needs to hear it!
Mato Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I fell in love with Stray Heart since I fist heard the live version last year. It's amazing. So romantic and sexy. I can't wait for Dos!, it's gonna be a killer record.
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I'm going to make a prediction that this will feature on a romcom soundtrack at some point, can totally imagine it. Not even sorry. Never thought about it until now, but you're totally right.
BradGreenDay Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 "Can you recover, baby Oh you're the ........." when "oh to you're" i heard something wrong... i don't know only one that I'm dreaming of
Annie, get your gun Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I love this song so much I already started writing Stray Heart and kissing everywhere ♥
Neon Light Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Ahhh so much love for this song here. And for this entire record it seems.
BradGreenDay Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Love the artwork for this single.... IDK why i just love it
Nzap Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Oh has this been said here before? I fucking Love this song!
Femme Gauche Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 The opening verse kind of reminds me of "Can't Hurry Love" for some reason...
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 The opening verse kind of reminds me of "Can't Hurry Love" for some reason... See? It's that Motown sound I was talking about! I love it.
Femme Gauche Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 See? It's that Motown sound I was talking about! I love it. Well yeah the minute I heard him start singing I instantly thought 50s/60s/Motown, I didn't think there was any doubt about that. I just love that Green Day... GREEN DAY... is having anything out that is reasonably comparable with Motown xD.
desecrator09 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Was this going to be on iTunes anytime soon?
MusicalDeviant Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 This kind of gives me a "Mother Mary" vibe.
Femme Gauche Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 This kind of gives me a "Mother Mary" vibe. Probably cause of the backing rhythm / prominent bass, haha.
cj_unoxx Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Respect? From who? Saying fuck every other word and trying to make yourself sound important doesn't seem all that worthy of respect. We fucking get it, you've fucking been around since the late fucking 80s, fucking whooptie fucking doo! He made himself sound so pretentious. If that had been any other band people here would probably just write it off as a bitch fit. Also I laughed my ass off when Mike started slamming his bass on the ground when Billie started smashing his guitar. He just wanted to be popular "By saying fuck every other word" and you did what exactly? Dumbass
BraedonHorbacio Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 See? It's that Motown sound I was talking about! I love it. Yeah and the tambourine really adds to that Motown sound. Motown was all about having a really strong, danceable beat and those are always instant with people. I think that's one of the main reasons everyone's loving this song so much. I soo like The Supremes. Uno didn't have very much of that,
Homero Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Ok, now I'm completely in love with Stray Heart. It's like so fresh, and sexy, and Mike Dirnt y' know.
angry_robot Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I'm really really curious about what my non-GD friends will think about this song. I wasn't able to made them listen it, cause I'm always working during the week, but I definetely will do it as soon as possible. If this song will be on a radio, it will grab so much attention to GD that I can't even describe. As someone mentioned above, it's been a long time since some Green Day song recieved so much love.
DannyDirnt Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 There are certain songs that for some reason make me think of Mike. Homecomin because Nobody Likes You, I imagine him singing 'I don't care if you don't' part in JOS... and this song is just his essence. I really love the endeavor he put in this song. Not because he's my idol or anything, but because he really did an amazing job this time.
lawlblaze Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 i don't really like it that much > i like lazy bones though:P
Dalya Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 i don't really like it that much > i like lazy bones though:P i don't really like it that much > i like lazy bones though:P I think Lazy Bones and Stray Heart are equally good... both are solid, and probably the best of trilogy for now!
ThisMoonlife Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Respect? He just wanted to be popular It is impossible say "Fuck" that many times and come off as pretentious. Overuse of the word "Fuck" actually seems to create the opposite effect. He was mad and didn't know what to say. When people can't think of how to act or respond it usually comes out like that. Basic psychology.
Hermione Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 See? It's that Motown sound I was talking about! I love it. I'm glad you pointed this out because I didn't notice it myself but it's so true! I love it.
jacknovella Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 What do you guys think of this? This is the first time I heard Stray Heart a while back, and at 0:42 someone in the crowd screams just as it drums into the chorus for the first time. Even though it was a completely seperate sound from the band, I thought it really added to that fast drum roll build up. In some ways, I wish there was something like that in the studio version, like a drawn out scream by Billie or something. Maybe I'm alone on this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wEzh6Zdj2g Don't get me wrong though, I can't fault the song, it's awesome
