Guest MadeInRatCity Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 someone has a download link for stray heart please? Those shit pirates've it. I don't think i've to utter a sing word now.
tvrman Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I think it might actually attract new fans. But I think you are trying to point out that it won't attract as much as American Idiot did or maybe even 21CB, on which I agree. It won't create that new huge group of fans, but I think the fun and playful sound in Stray Heart will make at least a handful of new listeners interested in Green Day, the Trilogy and/or at least Dos.I agree. eg I really hope that the Later with JH show goes ahead - which due to the US tour would have to be in November, as that would give GD a chance to introduce the new stuff to a wider audience of music lovers.
ltrbmb17 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 someone has a download link for stray heart please? Sharing mp3 links is forbidden by mods. So only Soundcloud.
tvrman Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 someone has a download link for stray heart please? There are links on GDA to soundcloud and a YT track (see SH thread). It does not need that much know how to transfer/convert those links to mp3 files (google is your friend), but we cannot provide download links to mp3 tracks on here.

Yeah pretty much. I can't see the trilogy gaining the hand a massive swathe of new fans individually but as a whole I think they'll be known for shoring up the rock scene while it's struggling in the mainstream.
Dori_Epiphone Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 So far my top 3 songs in the trilogy not in any order cuz i like them all the same 1: Stray Heart 2: Stay The Night 3: Rusty James i like all the songs in the trilogy but these song stick out the most!!!! 1: Stray Heart 2: Kill the DJ 3: 99 Revolutions
keepmeinsane Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I love it, I love it, I love it! ♥ The beginning sounds a lot like FBHT's Mother Mary.
LMC Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Just played this to some friends in school who are into more classic rock etc. and they really liked it
StuckWithInsomnia Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Stuckwithinsomniaa approves this song.
jacknovella Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I'm in love with the song, really digging the classic rock feel to it and it's also really catchy Trying so hard not to overplay it but it's hard when the song's THIS GOOD.
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I think the mood of this song is less like that Jet song and closer to 60s Motown music. I bet it's partly inspired by this one Love this song! And I think you are right actually. I mean Jet are hardly known as the most original band either, every riff they have has been used by AC/DC at some point.
1039SweetChildren Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I really think this song could be a hit... I hope it gets some attention!
Rusty Hart Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 "Can you recover, baby Oh you're the ........." when "oh to you're" i heard something wrong... i don't know
Dog years of the day Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 "Can you recover, baby Oh you're the ........." when "oh to you're" i heard something wrong... i don't know Me too.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Oh come on. That one is like saying the word "the" in Know Your Enemy is sung exactly like the word "be" in Minority Its nothing like that. This is half of the chorus. Not just a single word. Carpe Diem A battle cry <-- Your long lost son Aren't we all Too young to die <-- Heroes and cons Ask for reason And no reply <-- A worker of pride Aren't we all Too young to die <-- Means to an end Sing the chorus with these lines replacing the ones originally there. The melody is the exact same. Literally the EXACT same. If the last line ended with a word that rhymed with pride it would have been perfect.
Rusty Hart Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 i think lyrics Stray Heart from GDA... still wrong...
Dog years of the day Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 When Billie sings "oh you're the only..." it sounds like the beginning of "you're" is somehow reversed or something.
DannyDirnt Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Also, very small change to the lyrics but I think it's: 'Everything that I want, I want from you But I just can't have you Everything that I need, I need from you But I just can't have you' Have heard these two 'that' since the very first live version, but every lyrics skip it always.
Alan86 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 The chorus I see written everywhere is "Everything I want........... Everything I need......." I hear a "that" ""Everything THAT I want........... Everything THAT I need......." EDIT: I just said the exact same thing as above doh!!
DannyDirnt Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 The chorus I see written everywhere is "Everything I want........... Everything I need......." I hear a "that" ""Everything THAT I want........... Everything THAT I need......." Yeah. The THAT is really really clear in 'everything that I need, I need from you'
gmcloughlin Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Def my favourite single so far, and one of, if not my favourite Green Day single ever! This one has a great chance of getting a lot of radio play Great for the band! Can't wait to hear it on the radio

The thing is though, everyone already knows that some songs sound like other songs. It's mildly interesting to notice similarities but it's not some huge revelation, it's just the way music works and not a big deal. If you want to talk about similarities you notice in threads for the relevant songs or in the Uno or Trilogy thread go ahead, but please stop going on about it in threads that have nothing to do with it. If you have something to post about Stray Heart (preferably that you haven't already posted 10 times) do so, otherwise stop going off topic. That goes for everyone.
