Isabel Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Funny, I've not heard anyone say they don't like it... Most people I've heard talking about it have hated it
watchmefade92 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 listening to The Forgotten, am i seriously still the only one who thinks the trilogy is Green Day's last stuff? I don't think so because the band stated in an interview that this trilogy is the start of a new era.
Guest Trotsky Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Most people I've heard talking about it have hated it That's weird....All my friends love this song.Even my mom loved it.Probably you have to change friends.
Hermione Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 ok, apparently you know something I don't. Care to tell this story? It's the last song of the 3 albums and it sounds like it's saying goodbye, so chances are it's a goodbye of some kind at the end of the "story" of the albums - getting ready for the party (Uno), the party (Dos), reflection after the party (Tre), and a goodbye at the end.

I knew there was a big over ruling story with a beginning middle and end, but I just thought it seemed like this was Whatsername 2.0 ._.

Ahh I see. Yeah doesn't look like it's a proper storyline like that this time, it's only a very vague story but I can see this song as a goodbye at the end of it. Loads of albums end with a slower, more reflective, farewell type of song even if they have no kind of story at all so I definitely think it's more likely to be that than a goodbye to Green Day forever.
Rusty Hart Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Hey, this is a great cover Dookie version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5fxZSvt5xA
iScottie Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I can totally see this song being played for the end of the main set.
Annie, get your gun Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 ^ That would be wonderful But it'd totally make us cry even more than Good Riddance...
Alan86 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Still haven't seen this video on tv. I'm not sure that its going to be the hit people are expecting it to be.
TheJedi Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Still haven't seen this video on tv. I'm not sure that its going to be the hit people are expecting it to be. well, the movie isn't even out yet
Alan86 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 well, the movie isn't even out yet The video for the song is out though and it's strange that I've yet to see it on TV. I had seen Oh love and Kill the DJ loads of times the week their videos were released. I still see kill the DJ on quiet alot actually. I know I could be wrong and the song could become huge once the movie is released and I hope it does.
kellista Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Still haven't seen this video on tv. I'm not sure that its going to be the hit people are expecting it to be. It premiered on VH1's Top 20 Countdown this weekend, but it still can't be voted in the top 20 for some reason.

I think the problem is that music channels don't play music videos as often as they did before; especially MTV, though I saw The Forgotten's video last week there. And VH1 only plays Oh Love, no Kill The DJ, nothing... And both channels have videos only in the morning <which sucks>. I think it's not the fault of a "bad promotion" or anything like that, it's the shitty programming of nowadays tv. Well, I don't know about other countries, but here things are like this
Heather. Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 The song isn't even released yet, just the video. Could have something to do with it.
Mr. Dude Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I'll say it...the song itself makes it feel like the band is trying to say goodbye. I know no wants to hear that but it is my opinion and that's how I feel about the song. The band is looking back at the past 23 years and saying "Shit, where'd the time go so fast???". I don't know how else to say it. Honestly this whole trilogy has made me feel like that. Sure other bands have released trilogy albums before and have still gone on but...this is Green Day. They aren't breaking up...maybe they're just planning a long-er hiatus. Which isn't bad, sometimes bands need that. Ok....bring on the hate. Who's gonna call me an asshole first? Who's gonna say my opinion is stupid? As somewhat plausible as it may be--it's definitely not incredibly farfetched... I don't think the band will break up. Maybe a longish hiatus--it wouldn't be all too surprising (though I hope not). But I definitely don't think Green Day will break up. Billie's said several times before that Green Day is his life, and there will never be any plans to break up. While I realize that things change in life, and you certainly never "plan" on certain things, I give you this video as a reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBjiQGZXZ08 At 45 seconds in, Billie Joe speaks no doubt from the heart, and this is why this recording is one of my favorite in Green Day history (and acoustic is absolutely beautiful).

Thanks for understanding what I meant. You're one of the very few who have actually agreed and not cried about the thought. You know exactly what I mean.

My observation in the UK (not just for Green Day); when MTV gets the premiere they play it once and never play it again unless the single gets in their top 10. If Kerrang or Scuzz get a premiere they play it to death, and then over and over again to make sure. At times I even wonder whether record companies hand a one month exclusive to MTV.
nezda86 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I agree with those that say "no damage made". Well I actually liked the first book of Twilight, and there´s nothing wrong with my mind. I always love things (AI included) where I can see some reflection of myself. The film is nothing that would do any harm to your brain either. Maybe in Twilight saga I see a lot more symbolism than for example in Avatar. That was shit, nothing I would ever look at again, I mention it ´cause it´s the film I´ve recently seen. But all in all, it´s only a song in a movie. You´re greenday fans, you shouldn´t really mind. And I think It´s nothing besides his recent false performance in iHeart. That was really bad. I was really disappointed how awkward he sometimes presented himself.
nezda86 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Love the song even more with everyone listen, think they could have made it better throwing some acoustic guitar in there but it's still great. I really don't like the video, to me it seems poorly edited and I just feel they didn't put as much time and effort into it as they could have. The song is so beautiful, I think they could have made a really interesting video to go with the song instead of just cutting and pasting clips from the movie and the band on tour/in studio, but hey, that's just me. True, that´s just you Video is brilliantly made.

False performance? the guy is dealing with alcohol problems. we should not be dissappointed in him. it's just sad that he has problems.. im proud of him 'cause he's getting help.
suicidexmakeover Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Watched this video about a million times now, I bloody love it. And listening to the song on it's own is even more emotional. And this part of the video really made me cry! It's like his happy normal self is looking at his burnt out self with sadness
GreenDay98 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Does it really matter? It doesnt decrease the quality of the music at all IMO
tvrman Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Hmm what did I write in an earlier post about Kerrang? Well...I just found out that the UK TV premiere for the Twilight video is tomorrow at 0855am on Kerrang and it then gets shown several more times.
basketcase85 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 It's like his happy normal self is looking at his burnt out self with sadness That's what I thought too... I wonder how much say green day got in how the video was edited?
