BradGreenDay Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Green Day's on the new twilight movie Their song will be the lead single
Pieces of Truth Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Green Day's on the new twilight movie Their song will be the lead single I don't know if it is, but if you think it is because of the post above... He meant that Green Day's lead single will be on the twilight soundtrack, not that it is the lead one for it
.Holly Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I foresee The Forgotten doing very well on the radio and on iTunes charts. I'm so ready for their first big hit since 21 Guns! I want The Forgotten to be a chart-topping, millions-selling crazy epic single that everyone loves and earns them awards. And from there, I want people to learn/remember how perfect Green Day is, and go buy each album of the trilogy. And their older albums too while they're at it. I think this may be the best marketing move they've made since...... I don't even know when. Ever. From a purely business standpoint, this is a great move. I mean, like it or not, Twilight is huge, and this should certainly help Green Day in terms of radio airplay and single/album sales. Win! I agree. This will be a bizililon times more effective than Angry Birds or a censored wallmart CD! It will be great for them to have a big hit again!
Yojimbo Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I don't know if it is, but if you think it is because of the post above... He meant that Green Day's lead single will be on the twilight soundtrack, not that it is the lead one for it According to Hollywood Reporter, it is the lead single from the soundtrack album. What I am most worried about is the video. Because during the last movie (I think), on VH1, I saw Muse's music video for 'Neutron Star Collision' and it had clips from the movie. Imagine a Green Day music video, with clips from Twilight.
Florence Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Imagine a Green Day music video, with clips from Twilight. I don't wanna imagine.
roushgreenday1fan Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Paramore did that same thing in 2008 btw
Pieces of Truth Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 According to Hollywood Reporter, it is the lead single from the soundtrack album. What I am most worried about is the video. Because during the last movie (I think), on VH1, I saw Muse's music video for 'Neutron Star Collision' and it had clips from the movie. Imagine a Green Day music video, with clips from Twilight. I'm gonna die.
Hermione Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Exciting! I can't wait to hear the song, and really pleased to think of the huge amount of good promotion this will give the albums. However..... Imagine a Green Day music video, with clips from Twilight. ....please not this
in the parking lot Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 According to Hollywood Reporter, it is the lead single from the soundtrack album. What I am most worried about is the video. Because during the last movie (I think), on VH1, I saw Muse's music video for 'Neutron Star Collision' and it had clips from the movie. Imagine a Green Day music video, with clips from Twilight. Okay, I am perfectly fine with Green Day having a song on the Twilight soundtrack, and I'm perfectly fine with it even being used in the movie. But if Twilight shows up anywhere in the music video... well... I don't even want to think about it.
Yojimbo Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 On the bright side, people will stop bitching about 'Oh Love' being the worst music video.... Who am I kidding. There is no brightside.
iRun Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Why the fuck is everyone bitching and moaning? If you don't like Green Day being featured in the soundtrack, DON'T FUCKING LISTEN TO IT OR WATCH THE MOVIE. Stop your whining and bitching, you should be happy we are getting a TRE song it October.
Bastard of 1967 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 According to Hollywood Reporter, it is the lead single from the soundtrack album. What I am most worried about is the video. Because during the last movie (I think), on VH1, I saw Muse's music video for 'Neutron Star Collision' and it had clips from the movie. Imagine a Green Day music video, with clips from Twilight. We've already had one video with a bunch of mostly-naked, inked up, biker-esque chicks rolling all over each other and basically fucking each other with their eyes, I can't see how a Twilight-infused vid would wind up being much worse than that.
farley drexel hatcher Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Does it seem as though Billie is anywhere up for shooting a music video right now? I highly doubt it. If there is a video it'll be studio footage and some Twilight clips most likely, not anything shot specifically.
Gwen Stacy Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 We've already had one video with a bunch of mostly-naked, inked up, biker-esque chicks rolling all over each other and basically fucking each other with their eyes, I can't see how a Twilight-infused vid would wind up being much worse than that. The cast of twilight would be acting in it
Dori_Epiphone Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I hope they just take the sex scenes to hold the damage in a minimum
Pieces of Truth Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I hope they just take the sex scenes to hold the damage in a minimum I'm ashamed to know this, but... that was already in part one and as far as I know there won't be a sex scene in two... or am I wrong?
abattlecry Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 It's probably going to be like the Neutron Star Collision video, if there's a video at all. Which there probably wont be, as I doubt Billie is up to shooting a video just now. It wouldn't be a huge deal. (certainly didn't hurt Muse any)
.Holly Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 ok, don't kill me, but I'd much rather see GD in a music video featuring twinkly vampires (aww, cute) than a one featuring a load of soft-core pornstars.
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 So regarding a music video for The Forgotten (and Stray Heart, for that matter) - when do you think we'll get those? And, kind of a determinant of the previous question, when do you think they will/did film the videos? Do you think they already filmed them? Or (perhaps more likely) do you think they haven't filmed them yet? And if yes to the latter, when do you think they will film them? You know, considering Billie's current treatment and general seclusion from the world lately....

Not sure if they will try to fit in a video shoot for The Forgotten.
Hermione Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Yeah I don't really think it's a big deal , clips of Twilight in a Green Day video isn't a very attractive prospect but music videos with clips of films are really just adverts for the film anyway and are usually lame and/or boring so it's to be expected. Might make me cringe a bit but I doubt it'll knock JOS or WMUWSE off the top of my hate list.
Sixtrix Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 If they decide to do a video and Billie won't be available, I hope they will at least do something creative
Red Lights Flash Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 A music video with scenes from Twilight? Well, even the scantily clad women from the Oh Love video were better actors than than Kristen Stewart.

(But just a side note in terms of Awards: nothing released after Uno (September) would be eligible for Grammys this year) I also think that not only is this the best marketing they have going for them, but I actually have more confidence in the Twilight PR people than I do in Green Day PR people (just look at how successful Twilight marketing has been... to make something so crappy so appealing, they must be fucking geniuses). So the mere fact that the Twilight marketers think that The Forgotten is an appropriate first single gives me a lot more confidence than Warner Bros. choosing a first single off a Green Day album Sad but true irony: I trust the Twilight marketing department with Green Day's career.
