Karol Oliveira Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Happy Birthday to Warning!!! My favorite songs are Minority, Macy's Day Parade, Warning, Blood, Sex and Booze, Church on Sunday, Misery and Fashion Victim.
Will117 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Waiting = Quite possibly the best Green Day song ever. Castaway, Macy's Day Parade, Minority and Church On Sunday are definite top 20 contenders for me. I could see Warning replacing Nimrod as my 3rd favorite GD album, in the future. Most overlooked album, PERIOD and I will take it upon myself, personally, to inflict serious amounts of permanent physical damage on anyone trying to tell me that Warning is anything but quality. Happy birthday, Warning, my man. Don't worry, I fucking appreciate you.
Whatsinaname Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Happy 12th Birthday Warning! I listen to "Waiting" and "Macy's Day Parade" almost daily. Also two of favorite music videos.
Breakdown_EE Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I love Warning it's my 2nd favourite album it's so underrated
X-Saint Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Happy birthday Warning!! This is one of my top three favorites. I love every song on it.
Ashley! Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I love this album! Minority, Warning, and Waiting are some of my all time favorite songs. Happy Birthday!
Jet Taman Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Although I proposed to my wife at a Green Day concert during the little break in the song "Waiting", this is my least favorite CD. The band was trying new sounds and I just didn't dig it at all.
WalkingContradictionPL Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Happy birthday the best album I've ever heard! I love this record. I remember even the day when I was listening to it for the first time.
Iza. Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I share my birthday with Warning. I love all the songs. Except Misery. I always skip it, i've listened to it just a couple of times.
EJN Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Me and Warning have an interesting relationship. For a long time it was an album that I loved when listening but wouldn't feel attached to after. Also it doesn't really have as many standout songs as some other Green Day albums. But that is because Warning is a work of art. The organic sound is just awesome, and it really allows one to hear how well thought-out the songs are and how tightly they are being played. The boys were just on fire during these sessions. The creativity is off the charts. It also contains the most poetic lyrics Billie has ever written. This past year is when Warning really struck me as a great record. It is without a doubt one of Green Day's best works. What is very nice to hear is that some critics have come out recently and said how in hindsight Warning is much better than they first perceived it. I hope one day it can break out of the eclipse that Dookie and American Idiot cast over it. It is my third favorite closely following AI and Nimrod, and it spoke to me in a dark time in a way that will make me always love it
BradGreenDay Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Happy Birthday Warning My Favorite song on Warning is Blood,Sex and Booze OR Church On Sunday!
SamMacs Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 The album where my Green Day fandom started (I don't know though if you can call a 5-year old kid a fan, but anyway that's where it began). Warning is my favourite album and besides the obvious fact that all songs are amazing is that it's very diverse, musically: there's the more "old school" Green Day songs like Castaway & Jackass and on the other hand there's songs like Minority, Macy's Day Parade & Hold On. And lyrically there's social comments, songs about hope, your own freedom and stupid people. I think it's a shame that it wasn't a big hit and that they don't play more of it live these days, but what the hell we can always listen to the cd whenever we want. Happy birthday old "friend"
PeaceMucker Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Warning is the album I am most sentimental about. While I was a huge Green Day fan in elementary school, my interests wavered and were wide-spread upon entering middle school. Warning was released towards the beginning of my 8th grade year. It was like reconnecting with your best friend you haven't seen in years. I turned into a Green Day fanatic and revisited the previous 5 albums which all had great new meaning to me. The rest is history, I remained a Green Day fanatic, even during the low-key years before American Idiot. Warning is an album that embraces hopeful change. It has such a distinctive sound and is sadly overlooked by most as a dud. I think it's one of their best, personally. Happy Birthday, Warning. I sure am happy you came into my life. (End Sappy Post)
warding_off_regrets Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Holy crap, I guess this marks my 12th year as a Green Day fan. Warning was the album that introduced me to Green Day. I remember the day I came home from school, turned on TRL, and amid the usual boy band and pop princess fare was the premiere of the video for Minority. I didn't know who the band was - I'd never heard of them before. But I knew I was seeing something different. It wasn't synthesized crap with sugary, uninspired lyrics - it was three guys, their instruments, and a song about thinking for yourself. I asked my Dad to buy their CD for me. He did, and twelve years later, I still think they're the best fucking band on television/radio. Happy Birthday, Warning.
Forever Now Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Love this album! has some of the best songs!
ChelseaDagger Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 12 years??! Warning, you're old! Just kidding. I'm old too. Happy Birthday, Warning!! You are one kick ass album. Love, Chelsea xx
TheJedi Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 happy birthday to one of my favorite albums! it means so much to me.
Ritz Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Happy Birthday Warning! I just love this album. Church on Sunday, Waiting, Warning, Deadbeat Holiday, Blood Sex and Booze. Man I love all the songs on this record! Macy's Day Parade is awesome. I don't know why but I awfully get sad when I listen to Macy's Day Parade. Thank You Green Day for such an amazing record!Oh and the bass line of Minority <3
deathtofalsesushi Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I remember this came out the same day as Radiohead's "Kid A", and I bought both together. For both bands, the albums are kind of a major turning point in musical direction. And I think that's why both albums took a while to get into for me.
GuitarPunk94 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Warning is an awesome album...but compared to stuff like Dookie, Nimrod, or any other GD record its just not as good as the other albums :/
