Hermione Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 3) New copies of Dookie are made without Ernie on the back. That's because Sesame Street threatened to sue Green Day. This only applies in the US (and maybe Canada?). Dookie CDs have always been and continue to be made with Ernie in Europe. I think it would be better to just get rid of this fact because it doesn't apply everywhere and there's enough people confused about whether copies of Dookie with or without Ernie are rare or worth anything etc as it is. 9) When Green Day first got started, their tour bus was an old bookmobile van that Tre's dad bought and fixed up. He drove them around show to show. This did happen obviously, but "first got started" is a little misleading as they toured in a normal van without Tre's dad for several years before getting the bookmobile and Tre's dad as a driver. I'd change it from "When Green Day first got started" to "During some of Green Day's early tours". 14) Green Day hates ska except for the band Operation Ivy. Seems a bit broad to say they all "hate ska" except for one band, I wouldn't say one of them saying it once in an interview really makes that a fact. 7) The Insomniac cover art (created by Winston Smith) is called "God Told Me to Skin You Alive." 30) On the Dead Kennedy's cd, Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables, and on track 9, I Kill Children, it starts out with "GOD TOLD ME TO SKIN YOU ALIVE", the name of the artwork for Insomniac. These two could be combined into one. 31) If you turn the volume up and listen very closely to Good Riddence you can hear Billie Joe say "fuck" in the beginning. You don't need to turn up the volume and listen closely, it's clear for anyone to hear. So I'd get rid of this one. 11) On the Insomniac cover, there are three skulls which are supposed to be the 3 skulls of the 3 members of Green Day, and in order to see the third one you have to look in the flames and hold the paper at an angle in order to see it properly. 37) On the front cover of Insomniac, in the flames, there are hidden pictures. you can find a naked woman, 3 faeries, a skull, and several other ghostly faces. I don't believe there's a naked woman or 3 fairies in the Insomniac artwork, I think someone just made that up. Also the skulls aren't all on the cover they're in the rest of the artwork. I'd get rid of 37) and just keep 11) and change it slightly to "In the Insomniac artwork there are three skulls which are supposed to be the skulls of the three members of Green Day. In order to see the third one you have to look in the flames and hold the paper at an angle."
burnout409 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 10) Five of Green Day's mainstream albums all begin with drums. I would say that UNO does as well now, Nuclear Family has a very short Kick drum and snare at the start before that 1st E Chord rings out! So that would make the count 6, but its only a very short drum bit unlike the others that are all very well defined so i dunno if you wanna count that one Billie Joe sends a member of Green Day's crew out to buy bootleg Green Day merchandise from vendors when the band is on tour. He keeps a collection of the strangest items. Is this true?? How did you find out?
gerardsangel4977 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Is this true?? How did you find out? It was mentioned by Aaron Cometbus in Cometbus #54: "In China with Green Day". Hawkers at makeshift stands sold bootleg Green Day goods, mostly keychains and coffee mugs with nonsensical slogans emblazoned on them. Billie got a kick out of that stuff, and kept his own collection of the weirdest items, culled from the random sampling he sent someone out to buy every week.
burnout409 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 It was mentioned by Aaron Cometbus in Cometbus #54: "In China with Green Day". Ahhhh cool, i wish i had gotten a copy of that so badly :/
Drankolz Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Ah, that's a great Idea. General Facts: #10: Is iUno! already included here? #13: In the inlay, it thanks doesn't really sound too good to me. #14: Green Day hates... I'm not entirely sure: Must a verb + Band be used in singular or in plural? #19: Eggplant also is the person that first did the "whatyouwill" thing in Longview. He used to go to a lot of Green Day shows prior to 1994, and so they had him come into the studio to do "his part". #32: It just doesn't seem to make sense the way it's written. What I'd add: -The Guys took their iUno!, iDos!, iTré! Cover photos with their iPhones
TheJedi Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Billie doesn't have a soul. He's a ginger. Put it in there, bitch. is he even ginger? from what i've seen on photos he had more brown hair than ginger hair
Sarcasm Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 is he even ginger? from what i've seen on photos he had more brown hair than ginger hair Nope, he's ginger. read it and weap

TheJedi Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 He is a ginger, get over it. Google it yourself. Lol i dont care if he's ginger, i just didnt think his hair looked ginger, okay? xD
Sarcasm Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Lol i dont care if he's a ginger, i just didnt think his hair looked ginger, okay? xD you're the one who questioned it.
TheJedi Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 you're the one who questioned it. yeah i asked a question, so what? I just wondered. you made it sound like i had something against it, when i just asked a simple question about the color of his hair xD
farley drexel hatcher Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 from before he started bleaching his hair. Sure as hell doesn't look ginger to me! Also off topic but I don't think i've ever seen it written anywhere that Tre is Billie's kids' godfather, if that fact is still in there.

Sources inform me that it's reddish brown. Reddish is enough for me.
Homero Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Good Riddance is played at the end of "Seinfeld". I think that's not on the facts
Jon Benjamin Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 With the Weird Al fact, Canadian Idiot is on Straight Outta Lynwood, not The Essential Weird Al Yankovic
WhiteTim Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 With the Weird Al fact, Canadian Idiot is on Straight Outta Lynwood, not The Essential Weird Al Yankovic It's on both (originally on straight outta lynwood but also on disc two of essential)
Hermione Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I checked the interwebs. Sources inform me that it's reddish brown. Reddish is enough for me. The photographic evidence proves it's brown, get over it
Jon Benjamin Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 It's on both (originally on straight outta lynwood but also on disc two of essential) Yeah, but that's like saying Longview is on International Superhits instead of Dookie
JDookie Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 You can also add that they took the pics for Uno, Dos and Tré's covers by themselves. Indeed, in the album booklet they've got credit for that, too (i.e. for Uno it says "cover photo: Billie Joe Armstrong") I think it could be an interesting fact
Sarcasm Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 The photographic evidence proves it's brown, get over it Comutah says nuuuo.
Firecracker Lell Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Sorry if anyone has said these before I think you can add Last of the American Girls/Murder City to this part as well! 7) Green Day has 14 transitional songs. They are Chump/Longview, Brain Stew/Jaded, Uptight/Last Ride In, Jinx/Haushinka, Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy, and Give Me Novacaine/She's a Rebel lol, just a spelling thing Ceom ---> come 12) On Brain Stew, right after the verse when the drums coem in,.....
joeysturkeyhead Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I've found this on imdb: J.A.R is the soundtrack to the movie Angus. The film's excecutive producer was Rob Cavallo and it's said to contain many Green Day references. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0112368/trivia
Todd Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 42 says Billies pic on 1039 came from the Radio Daze bootleg First off, 39 Smooth. Second, 39 cam out before radio daze, so how could that be? And mikes tatoo was based off his pic, not the other way around
