Of Rage and Love Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 They played Oh Love on Opie and Anthony of all places. Haven't heard anything on local radio. The only Green Day songs I ever hear on the radio are 1,000 Hours, Best Thing in Town, Emenius Sleepus, Stuart and the Ave, All the Time, and Hold On. The station plays them constantly. I'm afraid that people are going to get tired of them. I see what you did there
GreenCard Yellow Day Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I've heard Longview, Basket Case, She, Welcome To Paradise, When I Come Around, J.A.R. Brain Stew/Jaded, Good Riddance, Minority, American Idiot, J.O.S, Holiday, BOBD, September, Know Your Enemy, E.J.N., 21 Guns, When It's Time, and Oh Love on the radio. The singles haven't exactly been radio friendly. Oh Love isn't great as a single. Do Nuclear Family and Stay The Night officially count as singles. I can see them being played on radio stations.

I think they're promotional singles, if they are than they were sent out to radio stations. Not sure though.

BradGreenDay Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I heard Oh Love and Kill The DJ on the radio... Kill The DJ was censored though...
Femme Gauche Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I heard Oh Love and Kill The DJ on the radio... Kill The DJ was censored though... Well, that's radio for ya . I don't think I've ever heard the "f" word not be cut out on the radio.
brianbags Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 I heard Oh Love and Kill The DJ on the radio... Kill The DJ was censored though... Censored Kill the Dj absolutely blows.
BradGreenDay Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Censored Kill the Dj absolutely blows. its still a pretty good song when its censored though...
Burnout98 Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I haven't heard anything from Uno played here :/
BradGreenDay Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 If "It's Fuck Time" is a single I hope they would just bleep it out or just cut all the swear words out of it for radio. Because if they record over it like if they say "Its Fun Time" or something it would sound kinda wierd...
porksoda Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I've heard "Oh Love" a few times since it was released as a single, but nothing really since the iHeartRadio festival... Coincidence?!
Mar Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I heard Oh Love a handful of times and LYG once on the Canadian/Metro Detroit station we hear.

But this is kind of why I really am not getting my hopes up for it being a single, because everyone around here is saying it and it's just... no. Let Yourself Go got released for radio and it has a lot of "fuck"s but they aren't in the title. And it's not like they can pull a Cee-Lo Green and call it "fun time" because that would totally change the song (where as "forget you" works all right. not as great as "fuck you", of course, but it doesn't change the meaning). I heard Oh Love a handful of times and LYG once on the Canadian/Metro Detroit station we hear. 89X?

Yep. And I know that their Peoples Choice contests last week pitted LYG v. NF and NJ v. KTDJ but I didn't listen to those. It's basically the only option for rock radio here, versus the Zone which is stuck in the '90s and, as you can see by its wattage, often useless!

Too bad I missed it. I heard "Good Riddance" like a week ago or so, and I heard "Oh Love" shortly after it was released in the summer, but I don't really listen to the radio much. And at the times that I do, it's usually just talk when all i wanna hear is music.

Ah, supposed to be NF but my brain was apparently already thinking about typing out KTDJ but yeah, when I do hear them, it's always old shit. I heard Basket Case A LOT this week and although I know a computer makes the playlist, it still seemed fishy given the developments this week And it's unlistenable in the morning IMO.

Hmmm... that does seem rather fishy. the other day, I was listening to 89x in the morning and they were watching porn... involving eels... lakjdfsadfs p.s. why is that stuff allowed but "fuck" isn't?! There's always a lot of great stuff on People's Choice that never seems to get much airplay afterward... Mother Mary was on that awhile back. I really wish they would make a proper Mtv video for Carpe Diem or something. One of the good handful of good, poppy, catchy radio-friendly tracks off of this record.
Slave To The Network Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I haven't heard any of their singles on the radio even once. Yeah there's a lot of swearing in most of the songs, but so what! They need to be played because they are amazing!
ScatteredPictures Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I hear Oh Love a lot but that's it. I wish they would play Nuclear Family or Let Yourself Go
Kill_the_Kia Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I've heard Oh Love lots of time at the radio ^^
gdpony Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I haven't heard them on the radio at all. And I've seen kill the dj once on tv. Kinda worries me cause people are not listening to the new material like they did with 21cb. I hope this doesn't affect their decision about visiting latin america.

I think it's more of the label's fault. They kind of did the same with with 21CB. They released one official single and let it ride for a long time, and released a bunch of unofficial/iTunes singles/videos inbetween. It kind of bugs me because the really good songs end up being overlooked because they're not official radio singles.
