Femme Gauche Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 They're still such a relevant band which is saying a shit ton in today's music industry. This is exactly why even top ten is so exciting .
in the parking lot Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 To quote the movie Bring It On: "Second place, HELL YEAH!" Well, that's a given (that it could have sold better if it was judged over a longer period of time), but it's just the idea of how much it is selling... I was thinking more along the lines that it could've been #1 if M&S hadn't had a 3 day advantage to sell (since it was released 3 days earlier than Uno)

Most new album releases are on Tuesdays. It is just a convention.
Malleus Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Mumford & Sons sold almost 500k more than Uno? God DAMN that is a huge lead. Oh well! Numbers don't really mean anything for Green Day as their position is pretty solid. Congrats on the boys for sweeping number two.

Sleeper Agent. Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Just to follow the trend, it's #2 on the New Zealand top 40 albums chart
Greenday_Aussie Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 #3 Here in Aus. Under Pink (#1) and Mumford (#2). Not too bad!
bjrules Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but it debuted at #3 in Australia, behind Mumford and Sons and Pink, who was #1. The paper said it is Green Day's 7th top 10 album here, so I'm glad to see they are still relevant. EDIT: Oh the person above me did. What a fail
-Billiejoezee- Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I hate mumford and sons.... boo them, yay green day.
gerardsangel4977 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Freaking sucks, doesn't it? Dookie sold TEN MILLION copies, and it only got to #2 ... but at least it's ironic that Dookie was number 2! The 10 million wasn't it's first-week sales though Also, anyone else find it hilarious that, even though Mumford was #1, Green Day got the lead photo?
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 The 10 million wasn't it's first-week sales though Also, anyone else find it hilarious that, even though Mumford was #1, Green Day got the lead photo? Green Day is prettier And/or the writer loves GD more.... or started the article expecting GD to win, but then didn't bother to change the photo when they didn't.... Those are just my random silly guesses. Hopefully Green Day will have longevity. A #2 debut is good, but to measure Uno's real success we'll have to see how it fares over the coming months. Hopefully Dos will have an awesome single and launch Green Day to the front of casual listeners' minds, and they'll all buy Uno to hold them over until Dos.... and then be so impressed with both that they make sure to buy Tré too. Even better if all their singles from here on out are massive radio hits and put Green Day at the top of the world again like in the AI era! Ahh, wishful thinking.
porksoda Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 God. 139,000 doesn't seem like much. I know they still managed #2, but I'm still disappointed.
GuitarPunk94 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 its nuber 1 in Austria -snip- tomorrow at 12pm german time we know what rank UNO has in germany ^^
pisquano Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 tomorrow at 12pm german time we know what rank UNO has in germany ^^ We already know! It's been three days! #3
GuitarPunk94 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 We already know! It's been three days! #3 source?
pisquano Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 source? For example, http://www.charly1300.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6241
.Brian Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Yeah, it debuted at #3 in Germany, beaten by Mumford & Sons (#2) and Xavas (#1). Not too bad I guess. I think American Idiot reached #3 as well while 21st Century Breakdown debuted at #1.
Guest Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I think what is interesting is that Green Day got second place with seemingly very little airplay, while No Doubt's hit single (Can't remember the name right now) is played atleast once every hour here and they still placed below Green Day in sales.
Nzap Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 UNO debuts at nr.4 in Finland. (The only foreign artist in top-6) http://www.ifpi.fi/t...albumit/2012/39 EDIT: God, I'm 5 days late . Failure
