xburnoutx Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Zane Lowe played Let Yourself Go and wished Billie all the best on his Radio 1 show tonight. He also said Green Day were a great band that changed his life. Billie has so much support from such awesome people, it's really great to see.
bollard_11 Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 There is one thing pissing me off about this more than anything: People using the phrase "Oh someone wake Billie up when September ends" We get it, thats the name of a Green Day song. I am amazed at your observation skills. Now please tell me what the rest of 2004 will be like. That joke hasn't been funny for 8 years. As many have said give the man his privacy. Stuff like this can happen to anybody at any time. Billie is just unfortunate enough to be in the public eye alot. Celebrity status can be as problematic as it is enjoyable. Fuck all this idiotic speculation on what he is addicted to or whether or not he has gone into rehab. We really don't need an update that he is ok, in fact I think no updates is a damn good sign. Give the man a break, he'll sort himself out sooner or later and will be back to playing awesome music for the masses in no time.
EmmaCharlatan&Saints Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Lets just hope that when september ends things will be a bit clearer Im sorry but this joke is just fucking old now in general.
HeeeyOhhhBillieJoe Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 The media is fucking disgusting. They're not happy unless someone's life is falling apart, to think they're making money out of Billie's misery.. it's sickening. right now it's tough to be a fan there's tons of Green Day haters around trashing them and saying what an immature man child Billie is and how much "Green Day sux!!!1" i'm tired of this crap. :angry Any excuse for them to stick their noses in what they don't understand.
lucatotti Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Im sorry but this joke is just fucking old now in general. It wasn't supposed to be a joke, just a little reference. But i hear you. It's understandable, this has to be used too often.

The media is twisting this and is going to twist it even more. Someones eventually going to say he was on something like heroin when its probably not even the case. It was probably alcohol. and its a good thing hes getting help now as compared to later
Bastard of 1967 Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Billie will be fine I'm sure. This will be a minor moment in gossip sites in a day or two and they'll have moved on to something else. It's not like Billie declared he's #winning and has Tigerblood. It'll be more than a few days but eventually some other sex tape or celeb crackup will hit and the hounds will forget about this. The band's gotta lay low until BJ's done with whatever treatment he's getting, they need to be honest with the public about what happened (without giving away TMI of course), they need to revamp the tour schedule so they don't overdo things again, and then they gotta blow the roof off a couple of joints to make clear that they've got the situation handled, they're back on their game, and they're picking up right where they detoured. The media loves a scandal of course, but they also love a successful redemption story.

Sorry its just annoying hearing it now other people online use it and they seem to think its hilarious and im like yeah sure like we havent heard it before lol We are green day fans after all.
Johnny. Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 i saw a comment on a post saying "UNO OUT TODAY" saying "im not giving you my money until you stop spending it on drugs" - what i was afraid would happen
BornToLose Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 they were clearly cut short. it's obvious everyone is trying to cover their own asses, i don't care what any press release says they were definitely cut short. usher was on longer than a half hour, and according to the schedule that was posted right next to the video player green day was supposed to play for 45 minutes. iheartradio went from "they weren't cut short" to "it was staged" get your stories straight iheartradio. also there is no way that half ass letter that was posted on gd.com was from the band. it seems like it was from the record label or a spokes person. look at when billie was in the hospital, mike and tre made the announcement themselves and even made a video explaining what happened. (yes i understand this is a more serious issue with billie, and i don't expect a video it's just clear that someone else is speaking for green day in that news letter)

Heather. Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I do remember some audio interview from around 2009ish where Billie said that he "Went through a period of not drinking," (before writing 21CB) and that always kind of struck me in the sense that you only consciously make yourself go through completely sober periods if alcohol is actually a problem. So for that reason I'm not surprised, if anything I'm proud because he obviously knows himself. It's the whole admitting you're an American Idiot thing---self-awareness is good.
farley drexel hatcher Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I don't know why anyone is surprised by the media? It's what they do, what they've always done. Even some small time singer would have these same headlines if the same thing happened, and this isn't some small time singer. Just stop reading the news, stop giving those disgusting websites your time.
Heather. Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 i saw a comment on a post saying "UNO OUT TODAY" saying "im not giving you my money until you stop spending it on drugs" - what i was afraid would happen I highly doubt these types of people were going to buy Uno to begin with.
Mandeax Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I really hope that his rehab is successful and that he gets the help he needs and comes out of all this better for it...when i saw this i was so worried...and still am . If anything happened to him, or if he died, I would be heartbroken . Lets all keep him and the Armstrong family in our prayers. Get well soon Billie... I said this exact same thing to my fiance earlier in a conversation we had when he told me the news. Glad someone feels the same as I do

However, you arer dead wrong on the first part. I wish people would do their research as all the information is readily availabe. Again, go watch Usher's performance. You can time the entire thing...he was on stage for 30 minutes. Like I mentioned earlier, Green Day was actually on stage longer than Usher was since Billie's rant went into the time after their set was supposed to end. The festival had Green Day on at 11:15 and Rhiana on at 12...but this DOES NOT MEAN that Green Day was supposed to play for that 45 minutes. It means that they were supposed to play for 30, and then there would be 15 minutes to get Green Day's stuff off stage and Rhiana's stuff on. That is how EVERY music fest works. EDIT: WhiteTim below has the proper set info...I was just going by memory.

Usher was not on longer than 30 minutes the show started LATE And again this is how set list times work GD was shed for 11:05-11:45 if the show had started on time GD would have started 11:05 on the dot and ended at 11:35 then from 11:35-11:45 the crew clears the equipment and set up the next acts equipment/stage set then 11:45 Rihanna starts Green Day was contracted for 30 mins (ive seen scans of the contract) they were on stage a few mins over 30 mins there for they were not cut short

Exactly. I wouldn't be suprised if the media just made up that Billie has gone to rehab. The whole thing is just a huge over reaction, it's sickening. There are more important things going on than focusing on an angry celebrity that needs a bit of a break

WhiteTim Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 you mean green day's spokesperson. Who do you think got the order to do the press release?
greendayrocksmysocksoff Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 whatever, stop trying to sound important.
