Guys this has nothing to do with us.We like his music and that's why we're hear.Of course because of that we know some things about them and feel close to them but if you think of it we aren't.

Just hope he gets through of whatever he has not for the tour not for the albums not for us.For his friends and family. That's the only thing that matters after all.

And it's just weird cause if you think that all these years he has done everything and always pretty much seemed to handle it and now that he's 40 needs help. It's completely logical, just that is what surprises me on the news.

I hope Billie realizes how much he is hurting all of us right now and drops the alcohol for good. I can't bear this knot in my stomach.

Billie isn't getting treatment for you. he's doing this for his own health, his family, his friends and his band.

fuuuuck. i have to say, this explains the weirdness of this era (to me, at least) - i just wasn't quite feeling it the way i normally do. i sincerely hope he gets as much help as he needs and recovers quickly, although cancelling promotion/shows doesn't matter. all that matters is that he's healthy.

People overreacting as usual.

Truth is we won't know what Billie's reasons for making this decision were unless he makes a public statement. I hate speculation and rumors, specially coming from fans in all the social networks.

Just wish him the best and support his decision.

Yeah, Bill Schneider no longer works with Green Day. His last event was when they were in Europe earlier this summer.

sorry for asking but who is Bill Schneider ( and i always thought i know almost everything about green day)

Totally agree, I am a drug and alcohol counsellor and i have seen way more damage and death caused by alcohol than any other drug.

Alcohol is a drug, and from a medical standpoint an alcoholic is no better off or functional than a "complete junkie."

Do they consider alcohol as "substance abuse"? That wouldn't surprise me, as he was obviously drunk at the iHeart Radio Festival. Hope he's not on speed again! :o

Anyway, I wish him the best of luck in getting back in the state he needs to be in to function normally. I hope he recovers before the tour, but even if he doesn't Billie's health is much more important than a month or two of concerts.

Even if he was "just drunk" as you put it, he needs help. It's been confirmed; you can't deny it. Let's just support him through it.

Wow, this is quite shocking although it's not that surprising... Green Day has always been a band that drank a lot of alcohol and did drugs (remember the Insomniac era for example), but I didn't expect their consum to be still so serious.

I'm sure this is just for alcohol and I hope he'll get better very soon. I don't think they'll cancel any shows though.

This news sucks. I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Yes.

He's mailing me a cup of his piss. I'll get the toxicology report posted as soon as I finish it.

You have no idea how much I adore you and your sarcastic comments Andres. You made me laugh so hard my pop I'm drinking went up my nose!

Exactly this. Speculation is disrespectful and wrong, we don't even know that this is linked to anything we've seen. I wish people could just respect him and hope he recovers soon.

I'm always wondering, why people, who have reached everything in their lifes, who should be just satisfied and happy, have to do such shit.

tour manager, bassist for PHGP

Me too. I look the same when I'm drunk, I scream and rant all the time about anything. I just start loving swearing and yelling after some alcohol. I guess it would have been worse if he even was more drunk that he usually was when he was.

Hope he gets help as soon as possible. I was wondering... will they still play concerts and all ar they have to stop till he finishes with rehab?

I also felt like something was weird about this era of Green Day, I had that strange feeling like, oh man. I feel like something might happen. And look where we are now. Billie got sick a few weeks ago and now he's seeking treatment for substance abuse. I really hope for the best for Billie, health comes first yknow ?

I am beyond happy he's getting help. Being around someone that has an alcohol problem isn't fun, and I can speak from first-hand experience. Alcoholism usually is a product of tragic events/stress and can eventually snowball into other things, so this is definitely a good direction for him. It takes gutts to get help, and even more when you're in the public eye. I really hope Billie gets better, and I'm happy that his family and friends are looking out for him.

Rock on, Billie.

He seems so happy in his instagram. All family pics, surfing, resting in the park ... Doesnt seem like he has a problem. Maybe label is forcing him since clear channel hate them now and own like every station. He was a drug user for a long time and never had an issues before.

It's probably something that doesn't affect his daily normal life, but when he DOES do it, like before shows, he can't control it, so he should just not do it altogether, ya know?

"They've always done drugs." "Didn't think it was that serious."

Casual ableism is downplaying one's addiction, and not recognise it is a mental illness.

No, not in german! I want to know too!

To put it short: Remember GD's performance in Las Vegas on the iHeart Radio fest? Yep, so Billie took too much alcohol/drugs (we don't know which (or maybe even both)) and now he's in the hospital! =/

it has been told to the world by a rep of Green Day, not Billie himself. Whatever is really happening, i do wish the man and his family the best.
