That's BS..I didn't have 80 bucks for the boxset!!

More like 100 after tax, shipping, and handling... :ermm: Only got it because it was my birthday present. I don't have that kind of money either.

I'd say that there's a 99.99% chance that "¡Quatro!/¡Cuatro!/¡4!/¡DVD!" or whatever it's being called will end up online somewhere, so I don't see the fuss about it being a "box set exclusive", which we all know won't be exclusive at all.

I do have to say, Warner's handling of the situation (not only about the DVD) is quite hilarious and I really dont think they have any idea whats going on. Seems like it was more of a hassle to order the box set than to not order the box set.

I just want to know if we can buy it on its own.

This may sound mean but if it is sold on it's own, I will be REALLY pissed! The only reason I bought the box set is because they said it was the only way to get the DVD.

I hope it will leak on youtube after release

Prepare to be pissed. Since the beginning of time, the phrase "The only way to get [sPECIAL ITEM] is to pre order [sPECIAL ITEM 2]" has been a marketing scheme, and it will always be a scheme. I've only found a very small handful of items that aren't available separately from the special edition. And I'm honestly quite surprised at how no one has been sued for false advertising yet, maybe it's because their covered with some legal thing but I never got into law, so I wouldn't know much about that kinda stuff.

Then I can only hope that ends up being the case with the Ultimate Box Set. Still kicking myself for not doing that pre-order...

I hope it is sold on it's own, I couldn't afford the box set so that would be awesome

I think you're severly wrong but um ok...

Where did it even say that the only way to get the DVD is to buy the box set?!

And btw, on the European Green Day store, it says that the box set will be available to preorder soon again.

I dont see why this would be advertised in the regular edition of uno though if its not going to be available individually at some point cos i guess that would confuse a lot a people not in the know how about the box set. But ive been wrong before, I myself couldn't afford the box set so if its only exclusive to the boxset looks like ill be crying into my pillow..

Uhm... Why be angry?

I ordered the box set, and i think it would suck if not all Green Day fans gets the chance to buy the DVD

Don't get me wrong, but I think this is all too much. Okay the triologie was anyhow a good Idea, and I think that Uno is way better than 21 century breakdown. But I think it's overrated do do so much merchandise and Cds and stuff. I mean of cause I can't get enough of green day themself but do you really need a DVD to each CD? Well I thought the bullet in a bible was a good live CD/DVD and I haven't actually seen the awesome as fuck DVD, because I've been on two concerts from this tour and I think I'll never be as good as being on a concert. At some point they just start selling an image than to be themselves. The concerts are all mostly the same and I get a little tired of it, even if I would never miss one I could go to. Now to the documentary "Quarto"; is it anyway proven that there will be a DVD? I mean you could also watch their YouTube account and you'll find videos of the making. (http://www.youtube.com/user/greenday/featured)

and btw Jason is on that CD, because he's been a meber of Green Day for such a long time, and if you think about it, what other picture could the have taken than his, to fill the booklet side with the three albums. It would have looked bad if there was nothing. And they also show their respect to Jason, cause he's a equal member of Green Day like Billie, Mike and Tré and doesn't get half the recognition.

I really don't want to get you pissed guys, thats just what I think.

There's only the one DVD (¡Quatro!) that's coming with the box set version of the trilogy. And I hear you, it's certainly alot of stuff to take in, but it's to be expected when you have 3 albums worth of stuff coming out in such a short time. They've never done this before, so we're not used to having so much thrown at us all at once.

But just think about it according to other bands, Green Day has about 12-15 songs on a CD. And that costs about 13euro a CD so that makes 39 euro for the three. Other bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers make a double CD with 22 songs at ONE disk. They could have at least put the three CDs together. So in the end its just very expensive to love Green Day. And I just talk about the solid CDs and not the extended ones. So I guess thats just making money. Even the T-shirts you can buy at a concert cost 35 euro? I mean are you kidding? I was at a Billy talent concert and that t-shirt just costed 10 euro. And you can't deny that they did a Greed Day ROCKBAND version or a totally unuseful angry birds version. And they lie some kind of, when they're on stage, not every country can be their favorite and I can't believe what else they tell you. Sometimes they just do too much and I ends up being just feigned. They just want to be loved thats all, and its a fake. They take too many girls on stage, at some point its not that special anymore. Sorry I'm still having a bad picture of them since my last concert.

Yeah their merch is kinda costly...

When Billie says "this is my favorite country/town/city" at concerts, it's not meant to be serious at all, same with bringing people up on stage. They're just looking for ways to hype up the crowd.

3 CDs compacted onto one would be too much in my opinion, to do 30 songs all on one album, all of which have varying "styles" of music, would just be way too much to try and listen to all at once.

I don't know, I've always been in the mindset where I don't care about most of the merch that comes out because I know I can't afford it, and I know I could save it for cheaper stuff. The reason why their stuff is so expensive is because they're a fucking huge band that's signed to a huge record company that has no problem sucking up every little bit of money they can get.

Everything that you say have an instance but it's your choice whether to buy their products or go to their concerts.I consider that if something is expensive just don't buy.

Also I don't understand your frustration about concerts. There are other bands who show their love to the public in many different countries.I don't consider it hypocritical.

Is something that happens and the band feels it at that moment. You can't blame them for everything.Regarding the prices of their products I agree with the above comments.

Rightly or wrongly there their management who clearly plays a big role in high prices. :shy:

Yeah I think it's important to remember that a lot of it has to do with the record label, the band deals with creating and putting out the music, and the record label deals with the more corporate side, after all it is a business.

I'm curious to see

I keep checking this thread hoping that we've gotten more info about the documentary, but no. Still just arguments about the spelling of a word....

Threads are to talk about things and have some discussion, if you only want the news you already know where GDA is.

Is ¡Quatro! going to have pre-Dookie stuff too?

No, it's the making of the trilogy
