J&TheNight Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Fantastic to hear what's in this thing finally! I'm hoping the full cut on the DVD is a little longer than 60 minutes, but beggars can't be choosers

I'm hoping the full cut on the DVD is a little longer than 60 minutes, but beggars can't be choosers well i think the version that was at SXSW was 70 minutes, so i'm assuming we'll be getting the same one
J&TheNight Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 well i think the version that was at SXSW was 70 minutes, so i'm assuming we'll be getting the same one Well that's a bit better I suppse ^o^ But still, I'm greedy and want more, more.....
Zach Perron Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Well that's a bit better I suppse ^o^ But still, I'm greedy and want more, more..... I can understand how you feel, but I think we should be happy that they made this DVD for us, the fans! Regardless of how long it is, it's still going to be an Amazing documentary, and just from the highlights they had on VH1, it'll be interesting how they go from the studio sessions to the live secret show footage, I already know it's going to be great! I've been a Green Day fan for a long time (roughly fifteen years), but I can honestly say that this is the most exciting time for me as a fan, Green Day's back and better than ever with an upcoming tour, they released TWO documentaries that, from what i've heard, have gotten great responses from fan's and critic's alike, plus, the band seems to be happy and in a better place than they were late last year. (P.S., I remember looking at the SXSW screening thing, and it said that "Broadway Idiot" was 80 minutes and that "Cuatro" was 75 minutes, and i'm sure that they'll have some extra content on both of the movies, but if not, i'll be very grateful for just watching the movie.)
Guest letterbombb Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 DJ Rossstar@DJRossstar One of my favorite parts of Cuatro! is watching Green Day perform 'Lazy Bones' live from 1, 2, 3, 4 Go Records! SXSW 2013 Review: Cuatro Grade: C I as quite impressed by the uses of different visual styles. There were times when Wheeler used film and what looked like VHS footage when showing the band rehearsing or performing. And there were funny and interesting things captured as the band tried to do things as simple as deciding the order and the albums that the songs would go. But ultimately, too often I found myself bored with what was on screen. There were several times during the movie when there are long establishing shots where it felt like the filmmakers were just looking for a reason to play more songs and so they needed to show generic shots of California. It really brought the movie down and it happened too often. There were some amazing moments though, like when the cameras caught the band playing ping-pong with Serena Williams, when Mike complained about fans shouting requests, and basically any time Tre Cool was on camera. Even for hard core Green Day fans though, this is worth watching once just to enjoy seeing the process but not worth owning or paying to see in theatres. If it comes as part of a box set, great. But I wouldn’t spend money just to watch this movie. http://www.playmakeronline.com/2013/03/18/sxsw-2013-review-cuatro/
Heather. Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 For those who saw it... do we get to see all those funny moments from the studio update clips? Like the silent movie one, or Billie doing his diva hands and talking about laser beams coming out of his dickhole, and all those?
Cob Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I really hope that we get some more footage as bonus features on the DVD. I mean, at this point I'm happy that it's being released and all that, but I'm a HUGE Rock-Doc nerd. I've re-watched the last hour of the Foo Fighter's Back & Forth about 1000 times. I love watching other musicians work their magic, so I hope that the movie has plenty of that.

JIGD13 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 April 9th is the new release date I believe. OMG! I'm tired of this!
Cob Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 OMG! I'm tired of this! Dude it's finally coming out chill. The way some of us were behaving I was kind of hoping that it would never be released.
WhiteTim Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Yeah the April 9th date seems more official we've never been sent emails with the date before now right?
WhiteTim Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Is April 9 just for box set customers? Yes Public release has no date

OneSongInFrench Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Personally, when I paid for the box set, I was more looking forward to the artwork/books then the DVD itself. So the fact I have everything BUT the DVD, causes me to raise little to no alarm. It's a quality film i believe that, due to unforeseen circumstances had a shit storm of marketing and preparations to make in the end. We all will get it who bought it, that's clear, and now we get goodies! I got the email too, and I just think whenever it happens, it will happen. I don't mark a calendar, I like surprises!
LazyPhil Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I can't change my shipping address... I moved to USA, but if I don't change the address it's gonna get shipped to France...
