dangreenday Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 ive watched the one on youtube twice - its so exciting !!
perfectpitchrob Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I got the email too, they said there would be a poster and postcards or something bundled with it. The problem is I ordered the digital box set so I dunno if I'm getting any of this compensation
VisionsofGreenDay115 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Whats that all about .... why not just reply to my email rather than sending that what a joke for a big company .. they all got the flu what is there like 4 people working there lol I will take a gander at this one and guess that its Billie's illness they were talking about... I know they still let the trilogy release during that time, but they probably had all this time to figure out marketing and premiering (SXSW) and wanted to wait until Billie was back to full health...
Met Fan Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I saw Cuatro at SXSW and I really liked it, it's no so much a traditional documentary but more like Metallica's A Year & Half in The Life of. There's probably more live footage of songs being played both in the studio and on stage than there is interviews, there's a lot of band goofing around footage and some insight on the process of choosing which songs are going into which album of the trilogy. Highlights for me were a live performance of Lazy Bones and recording of Nightlife. At one point both Lady Cobra and Billie Joe were in the recording room and Billie was saying something about how his vocals are not as audible in the mix as her's and she said "Cause you're my bitch" heh

Just wondering.
EastCaitNowhere Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 So what extra things are you guys getting? And also, is it confirmed for april 9th for public release?
tubbyfox Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Well I've emailed Warner and they haven't replied to me about Cuatro. I also moaned that I never received confirmation of my Idiot Club renewal, no X-Kid digital download or an email to say that was Tre was on the way (I did receive this however). Not a dickie bird. Grrrr. I really hope we get Broadway idiot too.

gmcloughlin Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 So what extra things are you guys getting? And also, is it confirmed for april 9th for public release? An exclusive poster and postcards I think And no, April 9th is just for those who bought the box set as far as I know!
WhiteTim Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 So what extra things are you guys getting? And also, is it confirmed for april 9th for public release? No public release has been set at the moment

Zach Perron Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I saw Cuatro at SXSW and I really liked it, it's no so much a traditional documentary but more like Metallica's A Year & Half in The Life of. At one point both Lady Cobra and Billie Joe were in the recording room and Billie was saying something about how his vocals are not as audible in the mix as her's and she said "Cause you're my bitch" heh That's Awesome! It'll be really neat to see "Lazy Bones" being played live, and seeing Lady Cobra and Billie performing "Nightlife"! Do you remember any other highlights of the film? Did they have any footage from the "1,2,3,4 Go show in Oakland", and if you can remember, what song's were played during the live footage segments, and where there any song's from the trilogy that weren't played in the movie?
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 It'd be cool if Broadway Idiot was added as a bonus in order to compensate for the wait I doubt it will happen. Unless I'm mistaken, Broadway Idiot was produced by a different studio or team. This means they would want to be compensated for their product going to people for free. They obviously want to profit from their hard work. Unless they get compensated by Warner or some other source, it will be sold separately.
MaterialDiamond Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I must have watched the one on Youtube like 10 times already and now that I read that it's like 1.5 hours long, I want to see the rest!!!
Met Fan Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Is it still about 60 minutes long? Just wondering. Yeah probably, it felt shorter than Broadway Idiot to me but I think it's cause Cuatro was more fun. That's Awesome! 1. Another highlight was the band jamming to the music of Nightlife in the studio and then Tre dancing to playback of it if I recall right. I'm just naming highlights that I haven't seen in the 40 minute VH-1 version btw. Also Billie Joe on a couch writing the lyrics from his "Rolling and strolling into town" section of Nightlife. A split screen of Billie Joe multitracking at home, recording all instruments for a trilogy song but I surprisingly forget which song, that was pretty cool. And a bit of Billie singing out the "Yeah-yeah-yeah" chant from Dirty Rotten Bastards like he wants to hear himself sing it to see if it works. 2. I don't know where the live footage was from, there were three places of different shows, I recognized the ones from the Austin show but there was a couple other small live events shown on the film so it might have been the one you're talking about. Also the show with the Halloween make up was one. 3. Live footage of trilogy songs I can recall really liking: Nuclear Family, Fuck Time, Lazy Bones and 8th Avenue Serenade, the last one was in the smallest venue and it took the band 3 or 4 times to get the intro right, they were laughing a lot. 4. Music from Amy was played over footage of the band writing or hanging out, I don't recall Angel Blue, Boy Named Train, Amanda or Walk Away. Pretty much every other trilogy song was included in the film either as live footage or studio footage or recording process or background music while footage of the band daily studio life rolled. You guys probably already know this but it's worth mentioning is that the "official" video of Troublemaker that's on youtube is very poorly assembled from all over Cuatro.

Again, that's really awesome, Thank You for the info, i'm 10X more excited to see "Cuatro" in full when it comes out. i'm glad you were able to enjoy the experience!!
Heather. Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Was the additional footage not shown in the 45-minute version all new sections of the film, or was some of it just extended clips of already existing scenes? And what's the deal with the acid reenactment?
Rae'n'shine Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I really am looking forward to seeing Billie record Nightlife, that'll be interesting to see. In the film, for whoever saw it, was there footage of them performing Wild One or Brutal Love?

Plus, the "1,2,3,4, Go" show was the shown a bit in the trailer, it's the part where Billie's wearing an Oakland Raiders T-Shirt, and smashes his guitar!
StPaul Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Are there going to be any other features on the dvd? or is it just the documentury. Sometimes when bands release this sort of dvd they put some of their music vdeos or extra live footage on there. Would be nice to have some stuff like that on there as well. Looking forward to it either way though!

Annie, get your gun Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 A lot of 'band goofing around'?? That makes me happy already! Though I guess I must wait 'til the end of April to watch this
