Tubbie Head Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Of course i'm not saying now they all became bad, egoistic people! But .. and hey, he also said "When they request Christie Road once again, i'm gonna hit them with my bass" and there was no humor in it... but whatever Hmm... Christie Road isn't even one of those songs they play a lot... They should like it when people request it... I mean, playing the same stuff over and over again isn't as fun, in my opinion.. I haven't seen it yet, so I'll have to see this particular part in context... But still.

I dont think he meant christie road itself just using it as an example
DannyDirnt Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I dont think he meant christie road itself just using it as an example I agree with this. I think they means to say that they had lots of new songs they wanted to play and show, but they got a little frustrated because people wouldn't stop asking for classics.
SuperXCsabre495 Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Is the ¡Quatro! DVD coming in a book like ¡Uno! ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! or is it just going to be a DVD case?
DTH Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I agree with this. I think they means to say that they had lots of new songs they wanted to play and show, but they got a little frustrated because people wouldn't stop asking for classics. seriously what do they expect? they sell tickets, people pay. they surely expected to hear new stuff, but walk off stage without giving them a few classics? thats just arrogant.
Breakdown_EE Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Is the ¡Quatro! DVD coming in a book like ¡Uno! ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! or is it just going to be a DVD case? it must be a book (maybee it is a bit thinner, less pages) you can try and put a dvd case into the slip case it doesn't fit at all

LazyPhil Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I can't stop watching it, It's so fucking addictive! I want more than the highlights!!!
DannyDirnt Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 seriously what do they expect? they sell tickets, people pay. they surely expected to hear new stuff, but walk off stage without giving them a few classics? thats just arrogant. I don't see how it's arrogant. I agree they should play some classics, but new songs is a better thing for the audience also. They get to hear them first than anyone!

They get to hear them first than anyone! Playing new songs at a concert is kind of dangerous fans want to hear songs they know its hard to rock out tp songs that the audience is not familar to yet
DannyDirnt Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Playing new songs at a concert is kind of dangerous fans want to hear songs they know its hard to rock out tp songs that the audience is not familar to yet Well yeah but that doesn't make it arrogant. At most it makes it a little selfish. But I wouldn't consider it any bad knowing how impatient they were to show the new songs to us.

alienlifeform Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 would be nice if Quatro came with a live cd from the secret shows
blitzkriegdeb Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 No offense but they aren't "required" to play any songs. If they wanna play new songs, they play new songs, if they wanna play old songs then they play old songs. It's not like when you buy a ticket it says "OK it's garunteed that they'll play When I Come Around, Christie Road, and Welcome To Paradise". Sure, maybe you want them to play a certain song, but you know what, it might not happen, and that's all. Instead of being so focused on them playing on one certain song, just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere and whatever songs, new or old, they choose to throw at you.
DTH Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 but is that a reason to say: i wanna punch them in the face? or wtf mike said? they donbt have to do it, but they should understand that people going to a green day show want to hear at least a few songs they know... that is arrogant: acting like your fans should love you and everything you do, no matter what you do.
Todd Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 would be nice if Quatro came with a live cd from the secret shows Well, fuck. It's not like they have any lyrics to put where the pages are. and if the case were thinner than the others, there'd be extra space in the box. So that'd be nice
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I can't wait to see the full DVD because I love learning about how these songs progressed from ideas into what we're listening to now. The little hints scattered throughout the highlights make me so happy, like changed track listings, lyrics (although I prefer some of the old lyrics more), song titles, etc. It shows a lot more thought went into arranging the trilogy than people who say they "rushed it" give them credit for. Maybe I'm a nerd, but that stuff interests me. The barrage of lyrics at about 20 minutes is really cool.
BlackBaboon Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I don't think he said unreleased I think he meant undecided as of yet. They played unreleased music before 21st century breakdown came out.
Of Rage and Love Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 but is that a reason to say: i wanna punch them in the face? or wtf mike said? they donbt have to do it, but they should understand that people going to a green day show want to hear at least a few songs they know... that is arrogant: acting like your fans should love you and everything you do, no matter what you do. I actually kind of agree with you. The parts of Quatro were Mike kinda made the fans feel guilty sort of bothered me. ("Now I have to go make you misereable to make other people happy", "If you don't stop shouting Christie Road I'm gonna hit you with my bass") I just don't see why he is complaining, everyone has to leave their family to go to their job, the only difference is he's getting millions of dollars for it. It just seems kind of unfair to make the fans feel guilty for being passionate about your band. As for the "hit you with my bass" part, I think that was more of a (semi-serious) joke. Other than that It was a really cool movie and I can't wait to see the rest of it.
Clayish Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 When is this out? The only thing we've seen is the hour long special on TV right?
Asa. Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I don't think Mike's comments about fans were meant to be taken seriously. He WANTED us to hear the new songs.
Todd Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I don't think he said unreleased I think he meant undecided as of yet. They played unreleased music before 21st century breakdown came out. He said unrecorded, that they hadn't played unrecorded music since Kerplunk. That's what you're talking about, right? Which, I think he was right. Drama Queen had been recorded in 2009. So when they played that live, it was already recorded. Same for When It's Time, The few secret shows they did for AI, and the insomniac material they played in 94-95. It might not have been released yet, but it was recorded I don't think Mike's comments about fans were meant to be taken seriously. He WANTED us to hear the new songs. Exactly. And besides, they've grown out of old Green Day, and want to play their new music
