Malleus Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I just watched it and it was AWESOME!! the song in the ending credits was so good!! does anyone know what that one is called? Dirty Rotten Bastards.
whatsername0000 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Dirty Rotten Bastards. Thats what i thought! I think it may be my favorite off of Tre! I guess we will have to wait only a few more weeks to hear it all!!
The Grohl Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 It was awesome! I really can't wait to see the whole thing. I can't imagine what they left out
Annie, get your gun Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 The gifs from this look awesome; and for what I saw they spoiled some TRÉ's songs. I'm not watching the clip 'cause I can't find it but I can't wait to have this precious dvd on my little hands
Cob Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I can't wait for the entire thing. This is shaping up to be Green Day's best video release ever. I love seeing the writing process of these records; it makes me appreciate and cherish them even more. One thing I noticed though, is that Billie said he purposely came into the studio with lyrics so that he wouldn't have to write any while they were recording. I say that because this would explain why some of the melodies to Green Day's songs are very similar to other songs they've done before (this doesn't just apply to the Trilogy but also all of their past records); when you write the words before you make the music, usually the melody takes a form of something already in your head, in this case those older melodies that came naturally to him. Just something to ponder, I guess.
ThibautDookie Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 OMG ! Quatro is soo awesome Best moments of this documentary Tré miming the guy running in the streets and get hits by him and Mike's kids ! They are soo cute

fatherotti Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 The end quote by Jason White was the most amazing thing I've ever heard. Does anyone else remember what he said in its entirety? It was about how plastic, metal and electronics can make this wonderful music.

SamMacs Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Can anyone tell me at what times in the film Missing You, Dirty Rotten Bastards & The Forgotten starts? (Want to avoid them/save them for Tré)
Heather. Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 DRB is only in the credits so you're good there. The Forgotten is when you see Billie on a piano through the violin recordings, press mute. Missing You is when you see Billie fixing a camera to record in his home studio (and then they keep playing it in the studio). Look out for these moments.
Todd Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Can anyone tell me at what times in the film Missing You, Dirty Rotten Bastards & The Forgotten starts? (Want to avoid them/save them for Tré) Wait, you gave in on X Kid, but not The Forgotten?
Ritz Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I just wanna see Mike recording a bass solo xD And I loved how they showed the arrangement of The Forgotten. It was amazing!

Just something to ponder, I guess. I imagine this was replied to but I didn't see a reply - I think you may have slightly misinterpreted Billie here... In the documentary, we see him recording in his mock up studio at home... During Missing You we see him singing and playing guitar at the same time. That means that he was writing the songs and the lyrics at home, in order to take them to the studio. In comparison, for the '4 songs from Nimrod', he'd only written the instrumental versions, and had to write vocals whilst in the studio, adding to the pressure, making it a 'lyrical nightmare'.

Wait, you gave in on X Kid, but not The Forgotten? Yep. I listened to X Kid from the Converse video but I've not listened to The Forgotten because I want it to end the whole trilogy.
inthehallwaynow Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 is that the full x kid? or is that just a long preview? (didn't listen yet)
Todd Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Thanks! Yep. I listened to X Kid from the Converse video but I've not listened to The Forgotten because I want it to end the whole trilogy. Okay. But you already spoiled one of the best songs! is that the full x kid? or is that just a long preview? (didn't listen yet) A long preview. X-Kid's tracklength is listed (somewhere) and it's longer
