ExtraordinaryGirl23 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Dearly beloved, are you listening? It's been the greatest eight years of my life because of this band. Not all of you love Green Day as much as I. But I would just like to take time to thank the greatest thing that ever happened to me and that is this amazing band we're all here for. They have made me the person I am today, they have led me to you amazing people on here, and they make the greatest music. Ever. I'm actually crying while writing this and listening to JOS. Us fans owe American idiot everything. The music, fame, musical, and movie. I love all of you fellow idiots and I love Billie, Tre, Mike, and Jason with all my heart.
spacesauce Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Can't believe it's been 8 years. I was barely 17 when it came out. I feel really old hearing about how some of you were 10 when it was released I think history will reveal that American Idiot will become one of the most important albums of the 00's. More so in the future than now even.
Makingyourmascarableed Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I was 12 when it came out. Got it for Christmas that year and played it non stop. Still do to this day
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Because everyone is so caught up wit the release Uno, everyone forgot that it was 8 years ago today that one of the bands biggest albums was released ... I didn't forget. Not even close. AI is way too special to me. It's the album that attracted a whole new wave of GD fans, including myself. It will always be my favorite and to this day it's the only CD I can listen to straight through, on repeat, hours at a time. Happy birthday AI.
iScottie Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Happy Birthday! My favorite album by ANYONE.
Freezing Melons Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I was in grade 5 when this one came out. I listened to the first couple singles and loved it. That summer, my mom bought American Idiot and I remember the first time listening to it all the way through was to African Lion Safari. It was the first album i heard all the way through that I loved every song. It amazed me, I couldn't beleive music was that good. if it wasn't for that day, i don't think i'd be who i am today.
Marlee Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 This just made me realize I was 11 when it was released....damn

Brother Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Listening to it now gives me so much nostalgia. I remember listening to it back in 5th grade with my friends and thinking that those singles were the best songs of all time. I still cant get over how epic (and I mean this in the literal sense) this album is.
ThibautDookie Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Happy Birthday "American Idiot' I remember the American Idiot days in 2004, when the videos aired all day on TV , 8 years already ...
Sleeper Agent. Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Gosh, seeing this makes me feel old, I remember in primary school/grade school/elementary school singing WMUWSE at my year level assembly, blindly not knowing it was Green Day but still loving it. Now, I'm almost (2 years) left of high school and still loving AI
