UNICORN VOMIT Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 So I just checked frontier touring facebook & the first comment from some guy was "are you bringing green day back anytime soon". That made me smile - we are not alone.
belinda jane Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 haha yeah. even the other day i think ticketek asked "who's your favourite band?" and there were a lot of green day comments.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Well it has been nearly 2 weeks since frontier said they had some "juicy" tours to be announced this month - so far Jimmy Barnes is hardly juicy - looking at the warped tour line up it would be great if one of those bands like Simple Plan could do sideshows & be Green Day's support. Now that would be amazing.
belinda jane Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 hmmm somehow i don't see that's possible if they're headlining warped. it just wouldn't make sense, haha.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Yeah I know it will probably still be British India - they did a cover of Brain Stew recently - so obviously fans.
turks Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Im hoping for The Living End to be support but its unlikely because there album was out a while ago..
belinda jane Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 i think that's a dream for all green day fans in australia, hahaha.
cool_cassie Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Im hoping for The Living End to be support but its unlikely because there album was out a while ago.. I think they would be a big chance to support Green Day. Especially because they did tour together a long time ago. I'm hoping they announce this Green Day tour soon!
turks Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Also The Living End are playing the Leeds and Reading Festivals as well as Green Day. They are playing on the same nights as each other as well. It would be a great place to talk about a future tour to Australia and how they need a support band
belinda jane Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 they would definitely be catching up, no doubt. i remember the last show in melbourne in 2009 i saw chris cheney walk into the back of rod laver arena. they definitely keep in contact and hang out whenever they get the chance. i think everyone would seriously lose their shit if they toured together.
Gwakington Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I have posted previously that Nui Te Koha triple m Melbourne is sitting on tour info for December (heritage band from the States). He has just posted that Pearl Jam are coming early next year. So it has gotta be Green Day for December. Nui Te Koha recylces a lot of news from online that leaks the day before, I'd be keeping your ears to the ground on tonedeaf.com or themusicnetwork.com or twitter for the green day tour info. I weekly hear him drop news I've already read the day beforehand. The other band I've understand are coming out over summer are The Eagles. THAT'S A FUCKING HERITAGE BAND! Also their tour dates run out in late november. They'll probably be here in December.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Yeah I did suggest the eagles. Hopefully we will hear soon & not the end of August.
Android153 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 My friends mom who works for vector arena (stadium in New Zealand) said that Green Day had a deposit on it for a specific date but they had to pull out because billie joe went into rehab. So if there was gonna be a New Zealand tour we can safely say that there was gonna be an Aussie one which is very exciting
Liam Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Triple M posted on facebook a picture of them play with a caption "A MASSIVE tour announce coming Thursday - Any ideas?" and then later posted saying "I'm going to break some hearts here...It's not Greenday guys. We used the pic as an example of killer gig, it's going to be very cool though. Alex HOR". They're trolling us and it's horrible.
MaraGreenDay Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 What?! That was so lame! But i really hope they release more tour dates
whatsername Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 They just said in the comments they think Green Day will be here next year.
Emilie Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Triple M posted on facebook a picture of them play with a caption "A MASSIVE tour announce coming Thursday - Any ideas?" and then later posted saying "I'm going to break some hearts here...It's not Greenday guys. belinda jane Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 i hope they don't play BDO or soundwave i really couldn't take it. i can't stand festivals enough as it is.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Frontier posted a teaser for tomorrow night take a look. Lots of people want it to be them. Oh shit I just read posts above f*** Hey the pic on triple m is billie
Cruise Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 That was just mean. One reason I am thinking is a reason for the delay before the Australian tour is that they are waiting for the market to die down, as there are so many artists out here in the last few months of the year. They could be doing this as they still want to do the larger Australian tour, in smaller venues and in more places. I could just be hopeful, but it make a fair bit of sense.
turks Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Theres still a little bit inside me that thinks the announcement is actually green day. Because why would they post a photo of green day if it's not them.. A little suspicious if you ask me :/
