Malleus Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I know right? It's obviously pop music and Green Day have always been pop influenced ever since the start of their career. You little instigator, you. I think Sweet 16 is the weakest of the new songs, but it's still pretty good.
Sleeper Agent. Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I know right? It's obviously pop music and Green Day have always been pop influenced ever since the start of their career. Since you said that, some people with now criticise you
green day is Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 >Billie is constantly in left >Jason is constantly in right >Solos are centered Something isn't adding up. If anything, I think he's just talking about certain tracks. There's no way they completely abandoned what's basically industry standard for an entire album.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 And you have an account because you're obviously not a fanboy I'm not a fanboy. Just read my posts lol I've gotten A LOT of shit on this site.
Alan86 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I know that. I was just saying what the article says. What article is that? And are there scans of the full thing?
Sleeper Agent. Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I'm not a fanboy. Just read my posts lol I've gotten A LOT of shit on this site. Why are you here then?
WrongWayToSalvation Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Since you said that, some people with now criticise you Hey, don't hate. Precipitate.
Sarcasm Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Since you said that, some people with now criticise you Yes indeedy. I know right? It's obviously pop music and Green Day have always been pop influenced ever since the start of their career. Green Day has always stated the same bands as inspiration: black flag, ramones, the clash and so on. "Those bands." What your idea of pop is, I don't know, but it seems it is anything that isn't easy listening. Who says punk rock must be straining to listen to? The punk elements are there combined with a more "happy" wrapping.
Sleeper Agent. Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Hey, don't hate. Precipitate. Do I look like rain to you?
in_your_face Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 loss of control doesn't sound really good. hmm., filler. still, it's something.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Why are you here then? Because I can be. I enjoy Green Day's music but I'm not blind towards them.
Ritz Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Fell for You is so awesome. The lyrics are <3 I get goosebumps listening to it.
WhiteTim Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 >Billie is constantly in left >Jason is constantly in right >Solos are centered Something isn't adding up. If anything, I think he's just talking about certain tracks. There's no way they completely abandoned what's basically industry standard for an entire album. There really is no induatry standard that's set in stone that you have to do...
Sleeper Agent. Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Because I can be. I enjoy Green Day's music but I'm not blind towards them. Neither am I, but you do have to learn to expect that not everyone is in the same boat as you, so really, if you can't say anything positive then don't hate

The punk elements are there combined with a more "happy" wrapping. My idea of pop is music that can appeal to a wide audience. Music that if you had an average Joe listen to they wouldn't have a "What the fuck is this shit?" face.
in_your_face Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Do I look like rain to you? lmao nice post
WhiteTim Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 What article is that? And are there scans of the full thing? Guitar World and not a scan just a cell phone photo (and not full article was just showing the part I was refering to)

Music that if you had an average Joe listen to they wouldn't have a "What the fuck is this shit?" face. So it's pure pop because it speaks to more than deadbeat, depressed teenagers?

So it's pure pop because it speaks to more than deadbeat, depressed teenagers? I didn't say their music is pure pop, I said Green Day has always been pop influenced. Hell, the band themselves said this was a power-POP album.
Sleeper Agent. Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 But I never said anything negative...unless Punk Rock is suppose to be a standard. Did I say I was being negative, I was offering some advice
LudeBoy Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 you're all so punk rawk! shut up already back to uno.
Alan86 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Guitar World and not a scan just a cell phone photo (and not full article was just showing the part I was refering to) Ah ok. I must look out for that magazine. I love reading about that kind of stuff.
Doggins Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Theres nothing wrong with pop music, its just pop music that has been mainstream for the past 20 years has been goddamn awful and tarnished the "pop" genre Beatles are a fine example of a fantastic pop band
Ritz Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 The solo in Troublemaker is amazing! So old school and awesome as fudge! xD
