Femme Gauche Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Anyone else wonder how they selected Troublemaker to be on ¡Uno! ? I mean, it works well and all, but certainly seems it might fit better with the description of ¡Dos! .
The Grohl Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Anyone else wonder how they selected Troublemaker to be on ¡Uno! ? I mean, it works well and all, but certainly seems it might fit better with the description of ¡Dos! . Yeah I agree. I love the song but it does have that foxboro hot tubs vibe.
Homero Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Anyone else wonder how they selected Troublemaker to be on ¡Uno! ? I mean, it works well and all, but certainly seems it might fit better with the description of ¡Dos! . Yeah, weird. But Kill The DJ is quite a party song too (IMO). Anyway, maybe Troublemaker wasn't that good to be on Dos! haha (remember it's like the "pre-party" though).
Femme Gauche Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I mean, I'm not saying it doesn't fit UNO or anything. Just found it somewhat funny. It's like a taste before the meal, I guess XD.
Heather. Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I'm sure there will be songs on Dos that we feel would work better on Uno and so on and so forth. The band said they had a million different arrangements (and clearly there's been drama about where to put Stray Heart )
Clockwise Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I'm sure there will be songs on Dos that we feel would work better on Uno and so on and so forth. The band said they had a million different arrangements (and clearly there's been drama about where to put Stray Heart ) I feel like Stray Heart, musically fits DOS better, but lyrically I think it fits TRE. I think I'm going to look at it as a moment of thinking over and deciding not to do something stupid at this party, and then with the next song just going 'ahh, fuck it' and doing it anyways.
KickingKangaroos Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 In my opinion 1: Let Yourself Go 2: Rusty James 3: Nuclear Family 4: Loss Of Control 5: Kill The DJ 6: Fell For You 7: Stay The Night 8: Carpe Diem 9: Sweet 16 10: Angel Blue 11: Troublemaker 12: Oh Love
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 For some reason I really like Billie's vocals on this album. I mean i've always liked his voice, but I don't why they sound somewhat better here I keep thinking the same thing as I listen to it, especially with songs like Sweet 16, Rusty James and Fell For You. His vocals really do shine! Even if you're not a fan of the album, you can't argue that he's come a long way compared to his early stuff. (Even though I adore those songs too, a lot of people I know complain "you can't understand a word he says." But that's why we love him.)
Soroush Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 This is what I was thinking through this past days His voice is really good but I love the way billie used to sing in AI album. although that kind of singing doesn't fit these songs
TaylorKlinke Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I actually really like troublemaker....it's grown on me a lot since I first heard it on the angry birds preview....haha HEYYYY!
Zelda Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I gotta say, it's still really weird hearing the studio version of STN after 2 years of listening to live versions. I think I prefer the live versions just a teensy bit more than the studio version. Especially the recording from the Echoplex show. Definitely one of hte best that I've heard so far.
Peyton Sawyer Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I think this album has grown on me. Like it more and more as every time I listen and makes me feel more excited about Dos and Tre Same for me. First time I listened to it I thought: "It's generally good with some very good tunes" and now it's more like "it's f*cking awesome, I love every single song on it!!"
Billie's Banana Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I love this album! Stay the night and let yourself go are my favorites but actually I like 5 more Songs.
LazyPhil Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Stay The Night and Carpe Diem are really awesome! I like how the guitars sound almost clean but still punchy. Did anybody else notice that the end of the solo of Oh Love is the same as the little one in Before The Lobotomy but in a higher pitch?
DannyDirnt Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Troublemaker is groing on me since the official video. And it's very easy to sing! I'm falling for it
i_wanna_see_the_light Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I don't hear someting that goes along with a "pre-party"-feeling on UNO. I think the record is actually quite depressive. For example this dark part in "stay the night" with the screaming guitars which go perfectly with those begging lyrics. This midlife-crisis thing is like in every song. Especially in Carpe Diem ("aren't we all to young to die"), Oh Love ("oh life, please don't pass me by") and Troublemaker (come on, those lyrics are so bad that they're actually quite good). The only exception is Sweet 16 which has an melancholy touch but is actually positive ("the kids are alright, alright as they'll ever be"). Don't understand me wrong, I love the album and I'm really looking forward for the next two but I see this album not as a party record and this is actually great. PS: "foxborish" is like the ugliest word of the year.
kripack Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=JFXkZlTaf3Q 1 Let Yourself Go 2 Stay The Night 3 Oh Love 4 Basket Case

Joey Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Nothing implies impartiality of a review like wearing a t-shirt of the album you are judging.
DannyDirnt Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Nothing implies impartiality of a review like wearing a t-shirt of the album you are judging. A t-shirt that comes with the album, so it says just nothing if you like it it's normal that you wear it
