SamMacs Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Does anyone have any idea of what "The wrong side of the womr" might be? It says so next to the Baby Eyes lyrics in the Dos book but maybe it's just a spelling mistake/prining error.
WhiteTim Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Stop, Drop, and Roll!!! Their label is Reprise, which is owned by the company that makes cartoons. They own quite a few labels, Nirvana was also on one of theirs. Actually Warner Bros hasnt owned Warner Music Group since 2005 a company called Access Industries now owns WMG And Nirvana was never on any Warner labels only Sub Pop a indie and DGC which was distributed thru Geffen/Interscope and now Universal

SamMacs Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Think it says "womb" Oh, now I understand. I thought that it was r as it goes right into the e.
ThibautDookie Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Why did Billie used to wear guitar picks on a necklace ?
Todd Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 In the Fuck Time lyrics, is Amanda Jones the Amanda that Billie dated, or someone else? I googled Amanda Jones, and nothing substantial came up. It'd be weird if Billie wrote a song that passionate about fucking his ex (and used her last name) Why did Billie used to wear guitar picks on a necklace ? Cause he felt like it, goooosshh.
Todd Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 What's that song that Billie used to sing during Paper Lanterns 94-96ish that goes "So you got a problem, and you want a solution"?

Heather. Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Oddly enough I just asked a similar question in the Dos thread, I think the only way we'll find out is if it comes up in an interview The thing is that he wrote the song about the AI musical cast shouting "it's fuck time!" and Theo Stockman calling himself "King of Fuck." The song itself wasn't written with a woman in particular in mind, it was written as a dirty thought stream of consciousness based on the ridiculous "It's fuck time!" chant that the ensemble cast did. Later on, it seems, (after a lot of different lyrics used there) he changed it to Amanda Jones (Jones being just a fake last name, probably)... probably to add to the midlife crisis feel of the song, or make it connect with the song Amanda on Tre, who knows. The point is that it's not conpletely creepy because it didn't originate from a creepy place, even if it may have ended up there from some of our perspectives.

Hermione Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 What's that song that Billie used to sing during Paper Lanterns 94-96ish that goes "So you got a problem, and you want a solution"? Never thought to try and find that out before but I just have. It's "Resolution" by an old Lookout Records band called Fifteen, same band that did C Yo Yus. The line's at 2:52 here:
fatherotti Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 When people ask Green Day to play some older songs...have they really forgotten most of them or do they just wanna fuck with people's minds? lol I thought a band is supposed to know their entire catalog I really think its just the songs Jason doesn't know. Example: Billie only stops Stuart and the Ave because Jason can't follow along. Does this mean that if Jason weren't around they would play more old songs???? Just curious

Just curious Judging by the amount of times Billie's totally forgotten the lyrics while attempting to play old rarely played songs I don't think it's just because of Jason lol. I mean when he was asked about Reject in an interview once he said "What song is that?" . They know the songs they need to know but I think there's a lot that they don't, especially the ones they've never played or haven't played for years.

WhiteTim Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I thought Geffen was owned by Warner? Link? Not during Nirvana time in the 80s it was but since the 90s been with Interscope
Heather. Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Is there any footage from this event or does anyone know anything about it? (2004 GM Rocks Awards?)

chrism17 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Anybody know where I can find a bigger or better quality version of this?
Hermione Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Haha, do you have that interview? xD and...awww I am sad he doesn't remember reject..that's one of my fav. songs on Nimrod It was in the audience Q&A session that happened after the Times Talk interview he did in 2005. There used to be audio of it on here but unfortunately since Megaupload's gone I don't know where it can be found now , can't find it on Youtube either. You'll be pleased to know he did remember what song it was eventually, I think he was asked what he was saying when he made those random noises at end of the song and the answer was nothing
RokketQueen Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Wasn't sure where to ask this as it's more of a GDC question...but where's Static Noise?...I miss it.
Bundita Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Are there any videos online of Billie Joe giving Conan (on the Conan Show) his guitar as a present?
Pieces of Truth Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Wasn't sure where to ask this as it's more of a GDC question...but where's Static Noise?...I miss it. According to Andres it's paused due to more important things on GDA/C that they need to focus on right now or so.
