Todd Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Clusterbomb is just Letterbomb. or is it?? I know. I like the name clusterbomb better. Original version could have different lyrics
WhiteTim Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 No offense to Larry, but he wasn't ever in the studio with Green Day, as he has said before. So what would he know? Maybe they scrapped it or maybe he just denies that stuff so that people don't hound him for unreleased material, which would be illegal for him to distribute Thats true
green day is Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 or is it?? I know. I like the name clusterbomb better. Original version could have different lyrics With those qualifications, you need to add Too Much Too Soon, Better Not Come Around, In The Library With Waba Se Wasca, Same Old Shit, 21CBD demo, Longview Demo, and a couple others on that AI tour support thing I don't remember. Oh, and those five seconds of St. Jimmy demo in the making of AI where he says "stray dog on parade" instead of zipgun.
Asa. Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I think we need another thread for unreleased stuff.
green day is Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Thats true You know how the Pistols' label insisted that Belsen Was a Gas didn't exist while it was lost, and one of the members didn't even remember recording it, then they found it and put it on the recent box set? Imagine that, but with You Can't Fool Me, and Larry has it in his apartment in the same place he's keeping "Lookout! It's the Lookouts!"

Imagine that, but with You Can't Fool Me, and Larry has it in his apartment in the same place he's keeping "Lookout! It's the Lookouts!" According to Larry, Green Day re-recorded half of Kerplunk before it was released and there's still the original recordings somewhere. He doesn't have those though

According to Larry, Green Day re-recorded half of Kerplunk before it was released and there's still the original recordings somewhere. He doesn't have those though It was originally on C&V. I'm pretty sure they rerecorded it. Anyone have the producer/studio info on it?
Pieces of Truth Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Billie once branded a mans ass. That's something new I learned today You're welcome.
DannyDirnt Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I'm assuming because there's a song on Tre called Walk Away but there was a song with the name Walk Away that was meant for the Cigarette And Valentines album so we're assuming they are the same song I think it's confirmed to be the same song from C&V
Todd Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I think it's confirmed to be the same song from C&V Yeah. It just had to be mastered.
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Why doesn't Wikipedia have a Green Day Tours page? Lots of other bands and singers do. It seems like the best live band on the planet should have one!
Bronni Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Can anyone tell me the difference between the blue BIAB disk and the red/black BIAB disk? Is one American and the other's EU?

WhiteTim Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I think it's confirmed to be the same song from C&V What interview have they confirmed this?
Tre_Cool_is_cool Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Has anyone ever heard the theory that "Tight Wad Hill" is a prequel to/foreshadowing of Jesus of Suburbia concept? The lyrics seem to relate somewhat in theme, although it was recorded waaay in advance. Are there any other songs pre-AI that may have to do with JOS?

The lyrics seem to relate somewhat in theme, although it was recorded waaay in advance. Are there any other songs pre-AI that may have to do with JOS? I've never heard that theory; but considering a good majority of Green Day's earlier songs were about drugs/getting high/life in the Bay Area, I think it's safe to say it was purely coincidental that the two songs share the same concepts/theme. That was a popular theme to Green Day's music for quite awhile. (Unless of course you know of an article or interview where the band SAYS it was a prequel, I'm going to chalk it up to coincidence/unrelated). But it would be neat to connect unrelated songs into our own little storyline, regardless of whether Green Day meant it to be connected.
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Has anyone ever heard the theory that "Tight Wad Hill" is a prequel to/foreshadowing of Jesus of Suburbia concept? The lyrics seem to relate somewhat in theme, although it was recorded waaay in advance. Are there any other songs pre-AI that may have to do with JOS? Well, Jesus Of Suburbia (and the whole AI album) are basically about Billie's own life. They're autobiographical (though not necessarily literal - pretty sure no one's ever called him Jesus of Suburbia or St. Jimmy, lol). But most of Billie's songs are quite autobiographical, so it would make sense that similar themes come up in different songs. Consider Amanda - songs like She, Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life), Whatsername, and now Amanda (among others) are all about her. It would make sense if Tight Wad Hill talks about things that come up in later songs. An interesting difference is timing: While TWH may have been written in a more current time (it was something Billie was still experiencing or had experienced more recently), JOS was written almost a decade later, so it gives a different perspective on the same (or a similar) situation.
Uno1Dos2Tre3 Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I remember reading somewhere that Green Day released videos of how they recorded 21st Century Brakedown. Does anyone know if that's true and where I could find them?

Does anyone know if that's true and where I could find them? In October 2008, two videos were uploaded that showed Green Day working in the studio with Butch Vig. That was the first big news about the new album! Here they are:

karma1215 Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Did anyone hear The Forgotten ( the video ) is suppose to premiere on Tuesday? Rumored or true? What's the scoop?
ThibautDookie Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 How do they choose to do videos for certain songs ? For all the albums, do they choose the songs or does the label decides which songs will be in videos ? I want to know.
