green day is Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 YES, SHE IS MY SKINHEAD - UNREST cover by GREEN DAY. When did they play this song? Never.
Drankolz Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I'm pretty sure i read somewhere recently that Billie Joe lives in Newport Beach and its been bugging me for days because i can't find a source and now that i'm not sure i just really wanna know if its true, can anyone confirm for me that he lives their? Or am i imagining that i read it Also out of interest on the subject if anyone knows where Mike and Tre are living?? In a german magazine he said he was spending the summer in newport beach with his family because he likes the place for surfing, and that he'd rented a house there. They were also having rehearsals in Newport Beach before the summer tour began. I realize Dookie came out in '94, and Green Day played Woodstock '94 and the whole Mudstock incident ensued. So my question is, was Green Day still relatively unkown when they played that show? I ask this because the crowd didn't seem that enthusiastic before the mud fight, and seemed more interested in the mud fight than the actual band once the mudfight started. Green Day had Dookie out and were quite known, but woodstock helped getting the band in everybodys attention. Also, it helped paying for the dookie tour, because they tried to keep ticket prices under 10 bucks, so they would have lost money without the woodstock money I Have another question: Some weeks ago, I saw Tré on the cover of Drum! Magazine and that they had an interview with him. Are there any scans available?

Not a question, but something cool related to this that I forgot to add. In highschool, there was a substitute teacher who did the social studies class who was in college when Dookie came out. I wasn't there, but my best friend (who got me into Green Day) asked the woman what it was like being cognizant furing the 90s, grunge era, etc. And then he asked if she was a Green Day fan. It turns out that she was going to see a Green Day concert in '94, but it was one that was scheduled shortly after the Mudstock incident, and obviously Mike was in no condition to play a concert after what ensued. He told me that he flipped pout because he thought the fact that she couldn't do because of that incident was even cooler than actually going to a Green Day concert in 1994.

Todd Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 My 1039 and Kerplunk CD's track listing (on the computer) have a ton of misspelled songs, like "The Judge's Daugthter", "Christy Road, "409 in your Coffee Maker" (shouldn't have a space). Is this just my CD or are they known mistakes? I opened them both from their original packaging, so it must from the label right? I should add that my 1039 is the 2007 Digipak reissue and my Kerplunk is the 2007 reissue. And thank you good sir for my 400th like :D

JIGD13 Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Can someone help with a topic about some curious facts about Green Day ?
Todd Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 ^^Thanks. Anything else? Can someone help with a topic about some curious facts about Green Day ? Billie once branded a mans ass. That's something new I learned today
WhiteTim Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I'm making a list of unreleased Green Day songs that were recorded or played a lot. Did I miss anything? Johnny B. Goode 19th Nervous Breakdown Alison These are just covers or you're counting them as well?
green day is Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Walk Away (Original version) Hello Firecracker State of Shock Gabriella What are these ones? I know Walk Away, but are there two versions of it or something? Also, you shouldn't bother including covers like C Yo Yus and Why Does It Always Rain on Me. If you do, you may as well include Surrender, Shout, Blitzkrieg Bop, etc. And then your list would never end You're missing their cover of Walkin' the Dog from the Dookie Demos, if you want to include covers in the studio they never released (19th Nervous, Alison, etc.). Then there's DUI and Billie Joe's Mom. Oh, and Second Time Around is just a weird version of When I Come Around. Not sure if you want to still include it or not.
WhiteTim Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 What are these ones? I know Walk Away, but are there two versions of it or something? I'm assuming because there's a song on Tre called Walk Away but there was a song with the name Walk Away that was meant for the Cigarette And Valentines album so we're assuming they are the same song

Also, just googled Hello Firecracker, and found it's from this http://gdaimages.s3....tracklist_1.jpg [Edit:] and Gabriella seems to be from the Tiki Bar. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/green_day_debut_15_new_tracks_at_surprise_show.html?no_takeover So what's State of Shock? I found a lyrics page that says lyrics are "upcoming", so I assume it's in the same vein.
Todd Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 These are just covers or you're counting them as well? Johnny B Goode was played just as often as they played My Generation, so if they recorded My Generation, why not Johnny B Goode? 19th Nervous Breakdown and Alison were recorded for Nimrod, but never released
thisusernameisnowinuse Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Some people speculate that "Hello Firecracker" is just a myth... I have no idea where it came from, but that would be exciting to find out.
kerplunk_chick Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Billie once branded a mans ass. That's something new I learned today Haha. I have that DVD where he does it. Funny shit.

I read somewhere that C Yo Yus was recorded, Why Does It Always Rain On Me was posted with the other phone messages in 02, so it could've been on C&V. I did include Walkin' the Dog, you must've not noticed that, and DUI, we have a HQ studio version of that, so I count it as released.
WhiteTim Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Johnny B Goode was played just as often as they played My Generation, so if they recorded My Generation, why not Johnny B Goode? 19th Nervous Breakdown and Alison were recorded for Nimrod, but never released I doubt it was recorded unless done during Dookie Larry said there arent any unrelease material during Lookout era Disnt know Alison and 19th were recorded cool
Todd Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I doubt it was recorded unless done during Dookie Larry said there arent any unrelease material during Lookout era Disnt know Alison and 19th were recorded cool No offense to Larry, but he wasn't ever in the studio with Green Day, as he has said before. So what would he know? Maybe they scrapped it or maybe he just denies that stuff so that people don't hound him for unreleased material, which would be illegal for him to distribute
green day is Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I doubt it was recorded unless done during Dookie Larry said there arent any unrelease material during Lookout era Disnt know Alison and 19th were recorded cool That's what he says. He doesn't want to be hounded by fans.
