Slave To The Network Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Just curious if anyone knows, are any of the Green Day members like horror movies? Have they ever said anything to that regard?
BadBrain Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Ok, I just noticed all the bonus material in the 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours cd. Is there anything similar in other cds?
Todd Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Just curious if anyone knows, are any of the Green Day members like horror movies? Have they ever said anything to that regard? There was a magazine clip from Nimrod era that said Green Day was planning to make a horror movie and have a concept album based around it. Guess that plan was scrapped Ok, I just noticed all the bonus material in the 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours cd. Is there anything similar in other cds? I wish! I looked at all of my CDs, and none of them say "enhanced CD" or whaterver 1039 says
karma1215 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Found a rare song of Green Day's called You Can't Fool Me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU_MXBMsaQs&feature=related Anyone heard of this song?
Todd Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Found a rare song of Green Day's called You Can't Fool Me: Anyone heard of this song? Yes. There's two versions out there actually. One from Davis Community Center 89, and one from Gilman 1990.
ThibautDookie Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Just curious if anyone knows, are any of the Green Day members like horror movies? Have they ever said anything to that regard? Here's the article : And they talked about it in this interview : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0cJd-3rwi_4
Heather. Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I remember Billie mentioning in some interview about how after 9/11 radios started banning certain songs from airplay (including Imagine by Lennon and everything by Rage Against the Machine ) and I think he mentioned that Maria was their new song at the time and it wouldn't get played because it had controversial political content ("somebody shot the president")... but I was just looking at the Wikipedia page about this (can't find the original document, though it's probably linked on Wiki) and it has "Brain Stew" as the only tabooed GD song. http://en.wikipedia....nnel_memorandum Anyone know anything about this or was paying attention back in 2001 when this shit was going down? And why Brain Stew? Yeah, it's not so happy, but... Maybe Billie's iHeart Radio outburst was a belated revenge on Clear Channel for being censoring assholes

Todd Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 AI does. It was some ringtones, but they aren't available anymore. Oh, yeah, but my AI CD doesn't work anymore. Lol.
Stephanie. Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 What is Angel Blue? And not just a Green Day song. Haha.
Todd Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 What is Angel Blue? And not just a Green Day song. Haha. I don't know. But I think the alternate name was Teenage Blue (I like that name better)

Asa. Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Does anyone know where I can buy one of Tré's arrow shirts that he's worn lately? Thanks
Tre_Cool_is_cool Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I read somewhere that Jason Freese is an ordained minister. I realize that Christianity has many different sects, but I am pretty sure most ministers, priests, rabbis, etc. would consider Green Day and their message to be unwholesome. I am by no means making a generalization about Christianity or Judaism, but I guess there is no tension between Green Day's, well everything, and Jason's being an ordained minister?

I never knew that before, but it seems possible
Hermione Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 What is the bonus material? Like pictures or something? Interviews? 0__0 It's not on all copies of the album, it's a CD-rom on the 2003 reissue of it. It's pretty cool, photos and flyers and a few short videos of early shows, but the photos are all around online and it's shows that are on YouTube anyway so chances are you've probably already seen a lot of it. I remember he conducted the singer Jewel's wedding a few years ago (he used to be her keyboardist and is a good friend of hers), which leads me to believe he probably just got ordained so he could perform marriage ceremonies. Loads of people do that including atheists, it has nothing to do with being religious or not it's just an easy way of getting a certificate so they can conduct their friend's weddings. The only info I can find relating to him being ordained is articles about Jewel's wedding so I'm pretty certain that's what it is.
solongfromthestars Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 What is Angel Blue? And not just a Green Day song. Haha. There's no definition for "angel blue" but there is for "blue angel": "the sodium salt of amobarbital that is used as a barbiturate; used as a sedative and a hypnotic" That might have nothing to do with the song though. I don't remember where I read it but one website said the term is related to insomnia which seems more likely to fit. There's also a singer called Angel Blue (http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Angel_Blue) but I doubt that's what it refers to. Another Billie metaphor we can't really figure out I guess.
cj_unoxx Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 On te ¡Dos! Wikipedia page it says that the album is released on iTunes 4 days early, on the 9th. Has anyone heard anything about this? Yes it's true both ¡Dos! And ¡Tré! Will be released four days earlier on iTunes, check dos and it says the released date is Nov. 9 and for Tre it says Jan. 11 but its interesting that the Clean version of Tre says that it'll be released Aug. 10th...
