Justin Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 A couple of questions about tunings; 1) Did they ever use Eb tuning after Insomniac again besides 21st Century Breakdown and Before the Lobotomy? 2) Did they ever use a tuning other than E standard or Eb except for Drop-D in Whatsername? Waiting is in Eb

Annie, get your gun Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I saw a photo of Billie and I think it's from the Nylon Guys article -obviously from tumblr- so I searched but couldn't find anything Somebody knows if it's out there, please? EDIT: Found it!
Amber. Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I don't even know where to begin searching for this question, so I apologize in advance if it's already been covered! Does anybody know what's up with all the x's on the boys' clothes? It doesn't mean anything, does it? Like how three x's means straight-edge? It's probably just a new design/look for the new era, but the x's are literally on all of their new clothes, so it's hard not to notice!

We talked about this on the GD's look thread, but yeah, the "XX" (and arrows) are new icons for this era, like the heartgrenade was in American Idiot era, for example. There's no actual meaning or explanation about it, though.
Four. Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Okay, so my friend and I were listening to GD on Spotify, and we came across On The Radio, which is them performing songs on a radio show during the 90s. On the album, there is a song called C Yo Yus. Am I the only one who hasn't got a clue where that song came from? I'm normally pretty good with demos, and unreleased tracks, but I really am lost with this one.

I think it's probably to go along with the X's that are on the eyes of the boys on the album covers. So yea probably just a new look for the new era

DannyDirnt Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 What was the first song Green Day ever wrote? Where did that 'Where Do Babies Come From' come from?
solongfromthestars Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 What was the first song Green Day ever wrote? I've read that the first song Billie ever wrote was Why Do You Want Him?, but I don't know how accurate that is. There was something about that not being true but I think that was the meaning behind the song and not actually when it was written.

Yeah, the false thing was that it was about his mom's boyfriend thank you Has Mike already used the black bass he bought in Germany this year, the one he posted on Instagram?

If I remember right, people thought that he had written the song when he was 12, but in an interview he said he wrote it when he was 14. But it's still his first song, at least among the ones that were recorded, I think. I'm not sure about any of this... Maybe I should stop now!

He wrote it when he was 14 and it wasn't wasn't about his Mum's new boyfriend, it was about 'wanting to be with someone and they want to be with someone else' at 50:00 in this interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4X3IQCM4xM
Todd Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 What was the first song Green Day ever wrote? Billie's first songs were Why Do You Want Him and then World Vs. World. The first songs Billie & Mike wrote together were Only of You and The One I Want and Best Thing In Town The first song Green Day wrote is hard to answer. Billie writes all the lyrics, and they collaborate on the music together. Before John, Billie, Mike, and Sean (and their constantly changing drummers) already had some of the 39/smooth songs down. So we dont really know what the first songs that John helped with are, or the first ones Tre did
