green day is Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 19th Nervous is 19th Nervous Breakdown by Elvis Costello, and it was never released. Billie "couldn't get the vocals right". There's a live version from that show him and Elvis Costello did together, though, but I don't think he sings. Never heard of Alfred E Normal. On the subject, did Billie sing at all during that show? Like backup vocals or something?
Liam Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 They didn't do 19th Nervous Breakdown at the show and some songs he did lead vocals and others he did backing

American_edot Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 i was just wondering what key is the original good riddance in (brain stew-German ep)
Todd Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 what did billie say at 2.28 ? I couldn't understand that People are standing right next to the stage, looking down at their phones, Billie can barely walk straight, and there's no applause. Excuse me while I jump off a cliff.
BradGreenDay Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Doe's Anyone know where i could find Bass Tab's For Sweet 16???
green day is Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 i was just wondering what key is the original good riddance in (brain stew-German ep) Same as the one on Nimrod. It's basically the same, he just doesn't pick in the beginning of the original one and of course there's no string section.
Drankolz Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I remember reading a news article on GDA, about an upcoming book that was available for preorder on amazon, which Billie Joe was to write an introduction to. Does anyone have updates on that thing or did nothing ever happen?
blitzkriegdeb Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Not exactly Green Day related per se, but someone on Tumblr mentioned that they heard a rumor about 924 Gilman Street shutting down, does anyone know anything about it?

Does anyone have updates on that thing or did nothing ever happen? All I know is that I pre-ordered it from Amazon - it was suppose to come out early/mid-September. But they canceled the pre-order a while back just saying it wouldn't be available. Haven't heard anything more since then.
Heather. Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 What was this book supposed to be? Because I just in Barnes & Noble a very recent publication (included through the 21CB tour photos) that came in a huge box. It was too expensive and I was with a bunch of people so I didn't properly look at it, but it was a large black thing.
lizziebix Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 All I know is that it was just called, "Green Day," and was about $47 for the pre-order. (Can't find the original post mentioning it on GDA.)

That sounds like what I saw, it was called Green Day and it was black and red. It had like 2 posters inside and fake pullout tickets and whatnot.

lizziebix Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Is this it? http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Treasures-of-Green-Day/Gillian-G-Gaar/e/9781402798542/?itm=37&USRI=green+day I'll have to see if it has a forward by Billie. That's what the original book mentioned. And I don't see that in the details. Really do wonder if it's the same one.
Heather. Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Is this it? http://search.barnes...&USRI=green day This is the one I was describing, yes. Don't know if it had a forward by Billie.

kerplunk_chick Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 This is the "Unavailable" page for the book on Amazon. Maybe if you can match up the details of the two you can figure out if the one at B&N is the one. http://www.amazon.co...y/dp/006208979X EDIT: Looks like the ISBN doesn't match. They aren't the same.
kerplunk_chick Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 The part about the ticket stubs and backstage passes makes it seem like it's the same thing, but the publishers are different and the one at B&N is only 64 pages vs 192 pages listed on amazon. Maybe they scrapped the foreward by Billie and captions by the band and just put out the rest of the book? That's what I'm thinking. Which may be the reason they didn't release it before.

jona92 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 why are there not any b-sides anymore on the singles? I mean with American Idiot you got Shoplifter and Too much too soon if i remember correctly and Know Your Enemy had Hearts Collide and Lights Out, 21 Guns had Favorite Son and so on..
