Todd Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 OK, thanks—I'd heard as much, but I figured I'd ask someone who I know is a huge fan. Makes me wonder if we'll ever get a Billie Joe autobiography (or ghost-written Billie Joe autobiography) a la Keith Richards or Pete Townshend. Tom doesn't know how to read, that's why he didn't learn anything new
Anaïs. Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Yeah, I don't think it's aimed at big fans really, there's not really enough specialised information, so to speak. If we ever do get a Billie autobiography it would definitely be ghost-written, or totally incoherent. I'd be more interested in one from Mike, personally. Yeah, Mike's could be pretty thoughtful and insightful, going by his interviews. If Billie penned it himself, it might be just a stream-of-consciousness ramble, which could be interesting in a postmodern sort of way.

Anaïs. Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 We already have that. Oh god, I forgot Penguin had done that. Why the fuck didn't they put that in their Modern Classics (not that it should even deserve that)? Shelving it in the same category as The Count of Monte Cristo and Plato just seems bizarre.

Shelving it in the same category as The Count of Monte Cristo and Plato just seems bizarre. Morrissey wouldn't let them publish it if it wasn't a classic. It got delayed because of that. But let's be honest, Moz is just as important as Plato anyway. And yes, I mean it. Banned for life.
klytaemnestra Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 i am HOWLING. if billie joe wrote his own autobiography it would be primarily exclamation marks.
Anaïs. Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Morrissey wouldn't let them publish it if it wasn't a classic. What the hell. I'll be scrubbing that from my brain with The Symposium now. Seriously, I've never heard his music to know whether it's good or not, but how could anyone be that arrogant?

It's not really legit arrogance, he's basically been trolling the entire world for the last 15 years and it's hilarious to see people get so worked up over it.
