Iva Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I had the bandana for about three minutes in my hand when slipped away to the other guy who was also holding it. That's what happened to me and his whistle thingy here. Don't cry, we'll both be lucky next time around. <3

Hermione Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 It can mean that but generally I believe it's only used as a code depicting your fetishes and preferable position (dom/sub) in gay clubs. I don't think you can assume anyone, anywhere with a handkerchief in their pocket is "advertising themselves". Also I think it would probably be a good idea to check what his color usually means. No one's really done that in any discussions we've had about this. If it's "bisexual" or something we already know about him, he might be referencing the handkerchief code on purpose. According to wikipedia black is S&M, lol. It still might be that it is some kind of vague reference to the handkerchief code I suppose though, wouldn't surprise me if he knew about it and did it partly as a tongue in cheek nod to that (without being as specific as thinking about what the colour means or anything). But I think it's mostly (if not all) just for fashion.
Punkfreak1414 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I wonder why green day deleted there YouTube channel. The only thing that's left is 99 revolutions live
Spike Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I wonder why green day deleted there YouTube channel. The only thing that's left is 99 revolutions live See this thread if you haven't already. Particularly: No, this isn't some secret way for them to say they broke up. They're not breaking up. This seems like a technical problem. Either someone from Warner/GD Management fucked up, or the most likely explanation (imo), is that it was accidentally taken down by YouTube's system to track copyrighted stuff.
DookieLukie Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Random question from a fan who was too young to witness old Green Day: How popular were Green Day's old albums and singles in comparison to stuff that is popular today? This may be hard, but try to give a popular song from the past few years and use it to explain, say, the popularity of Basket Case. Thanks!
Iva Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I got to be on stage moments after this so... D'oh, even better. Had no idea, sorry. This may be hard, but try to give a popular song from the past few years and use it to explain, say, the popularity of Basket Case. Thanks! Dookie was mega-popular. Insomniac and Nimrod were pretty popular, too, but nowhere near that. Warning was...moderately popular, just like any random mainstream artist's album.

Cause they've played in England literally hundreds of times.

Xzavier Rodriguez Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Yes I meant. Bullet in a bible do u know how to play it?
Spike Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Yes I meant. Bullet in a bible do u know how to play it? I'm writing up a tab for it now
Todd Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 They've played it in England 31 times. Well they've played in England 31 times as of 1997, I was not referring to just the times they played that song. And please, don't make me count these things when i'm on my phone. I can't use ctrl+f to find things quickly. This is not how I want to spend my night.

The picking is kind of random so just play with it a bit, but it's fundamentally this: e-------3------------3----------------------------------- B-----3---3--------3---3----------5-----------4-------12- G-0-0-0-----0--0-0-0-----0------5---5-------5---5-----12- D-0-0-0--------0-0-0----------5-------5---5-------5---12- A---------------------------3-----------3-----------3---- E-------------------------------------------------------- Well they've played in England 31 times as of 1997, I was not referring to just the times they played that song. I'm not making you do anything And what has 1997 got to do with anything? You're not gonna tell me my life is a lie and WMUWSE was written that far back, are you? And they've played in England a lot more than 31 times since 1997. What is this post.

I haven't been able to verify those claims though. Could just be people who can't into figurative language assuming things based on "seven years" and "twenty years".

I can believe that, but I'm pretty sure they never played it live, especially in England, before American Idiot came out. As for the "twenty years" bit, 20 years since Andy died was 2002, so there's that. Either way, I'm not sure I really want to take on Tman when it comes to knowing exactly what songs they played at any given show

I just thought of the trivia when you mentioned its writing.

green day is Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 What's that about Scattered? It was started in '92 and finished later. Not sure how much later, probably shortly before Nimrod.
WhiteTim Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Billie talked about writing WMUWSE in Broadway Idiot (or deleted scene forget which)
Oxymore Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 What's that about Scattered? It was started in '92 and finished later. Not sure how much later, probably shortly before Nimrod. The first verse of Scattered was written in 92 and the second in 96, Billie Joe said it at the time he tweeted. And yes, for WMUWSE,

And yes, for WMUWSE, That gif set doesn't prove anything, he doesn't say that he wrote it seven years later, just that the time of his father's death was the reason for that number. Unless he said something else in the interview that confirms it.
