Spike Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 There were rumors about a fall U.S. tour too, straight from Mr. Cool himself when my friend messaged him on Facebook. Y'know, it took me a while to realise you didn't mean this guy. #terriblefan
Cath Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 i didn't know tre said that! i don't know what happened for them not doing anything
The Disappearing Boy Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Anyone know why JOS on BIAB was dedicated to people who took the train?
Guest Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Anyone know why JOS on BIAB was dedicated to people who took the train? Because he hadn't written "Little Boy Named Train" yet.
jumpsalty Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Anyone know why JOS on BIAB was dedicated to people who took the train? He's said that a few times about that song, at Wembley he said something about 'anybody who came here from a small shitty town' I guess the train thing is implying the need to travel from said shitty town or something
Guest Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 wow little boy named train isn't even about trains you're so fucking stupid FUCK YOU SHITHEAD AND YER SHITEY TRAIN SONG
UNICORN VOMIT Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I think it relates to a Clash book that I read - Route 19 Revisited The Clash and London Calling - its the freedom to go any where you want to go cheaply

Wouldn't be surprising, considering 21stCB is packed full of references to The Clash.
Spike Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 wow little boy named train isn't even about trains you're so fucking stupid Yeah Ceadog, haven't you looked at the song meaning section on GDA? GOD.
green day is Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 You know like, coming from a suburbia (can I say it this way? Sorry I'm german) You could either change it to "coming from Suburbia" or "coming from a suburb" to make it correct. "Suburbia" isn't technically a real word, it's more like... sort of like a grouping term for all suburbs. Hope that explains it
UNICORN VOMIT Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 While I was queuing for the Brixton gig I overheard the roadies talking about an autumn UK tour and that never happened, so... y'know I think they did have plans but just went fuck it - lets have a break - that's why the Australia tour got pushed to Soundwave festivals as well.

AlissaGoesRAWR Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 i didn't know tre said that! i don't know what happened for them not doing anything Yeah, it's his "official" Facebook or whatever and she messaged him out of the blue when he was on chat one day and he messaged back. She asked about when Detroit might seem them again and his response was "fall." I know it sounds like bull shit but I promise it's not. I mean, personally a fall tour would have worked out so much better for me, and I'm not sure if I'll even be able to arrange to see them next year... But there was a good reason I'm sure that they decided not to do it, whether it was scheduling, or simply them just being too tired out and needing a bit of a break, so I'm OK with it, as much as I like to say I'm not.

tubbyfox Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 So, it's one thing to give up alcohol when you're alcohol dependent, that must be hard enough, but to have to give up prescribed medication for debilitating conditions such as anxiety attacks and insomnia must be really difficult. Presumably you still suffer from these conditions, yet can't take anything to help them, so what do you do? Billie looks so well recently, but surely he must still be having bouts of insomnia and anxiety if he has always suffered from them, so I'm just wondering what he does to get round this. Does anyone know what alternatives are used in these situations? Any clues anyone?

Does anyone know what alternatives are used in these situations? Any clues anyone? No one knows if he takes or has ever taken prescribed medication for those things. Not everyone who suffers from insomnia or anxiety takes medication for it or continues taking it forever. And not everyone who does take it does so because they actually need to/should. Furthermore, we also don't know whether giving up alcohol and the medication that he was having a problem with means he's given up all medication. Given all that I can't really see any point in speculating about it in terms of a Green Day/Billie question, any kind of guess about his health care would be a wild stab in the dark.

I was talking about the Milton Keynes show with Adam from Taking Back Sunday (they opened) and Billie gave him some for nerves. Ambien's effects are nearly identical to what Billie described in the Rolling Stone interview the blackouts and amnesia and such
Antonium2200 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Why did Green Day prefer D# tuning over D standard tuning in the 1,039, Kerplunk, Dookie, and Insomniac days?
Guest Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Why did Green Day prefer D# tuning over D standard tuning in the 1,039, Kerplunk, Dookie, and Insomniac days? Because Billie Joe really likes playing power chords? A lot of Nimrod, Warning, and AI are played in D# too.
Antonium2200 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Because Billie Joe really likes playing power chords? A lot of Nimrod, Warning, and AI are played in D# too. Power chords can easily be played in any tuning. I can't tell you much about Nimrod or Warning, but I know American Idiot, and there aren't any American Idiot songs played in D# tuning. Whatsername is played in Drop D, but that's the only song I'm aware of that has a difference in tuning in that album.
