Green Day Q&A Thread

I doubt they will. Insomniac never had the huge impact of Dookie, so we'll probably just get Brain Stew/Jaded back in the setlist for a few shows. If we're really fucking lucky, Geek Stink Breath or Walking Contradiction could get played.

That wouldn't surprise me, unfortunately. As if I'm not already totally sick of Brain Stew/Jaded live. Full album or GTFO.

Live albums weren't a big deal back in the early 90's escp for a band that only had one album out (and when I say one album out I mean by a major label)

I'm confused about what's happening between Green Day and Lady Gaga?

Rumour has it Tré and Mike are taking a sabbatical from Green Day to join her live band.

Basically, she's a rebel.

Stuck with Me instead of WC. Geek Stink Breath isn't rare at all. They played GSB 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 04, 09, 10, 11, 12, and 13. That's pretty much every tour except the 2005 tour.

Brilliant, thanks :D

Don't suppose there's any form of recording?

nope

The fact that Green Day have basically ignored half of Insomniac Nimrod and Warning depresses me greatly.

Has Billie failed Stuart and the Ave every time he's tried playing it? it's so funny he always screwed up that one song

yeah, the two times he tried playing it

It's quite amusing that Bowling For Soup are better at playing Stuart and the Ave than Green Day.

Tracklist:

Armatage Shanks - Opened most shows of 95/96, played a few times in 2000 and 2010

Brat - played most shows in 95/96, throughout 2000, and 2010, 12, and again this year

Stuck With Me - played most shows in 95/96, played a few times in 98, then 2000, 2010, and in 2012

Geek Stink Breath - played all the time from 94-2003. 2004, 2009-2013

No Pride - played a lot during 95

Bab's Uvula Who? - played once in 95

86 - played most shows in 95/96, a lot in 2000, and then a few times in 2010 and teased in 2012

Panic Song - never played

Stuart and the Ave - never played on tour

Brain Stew - played every show

Jaded - played every show until 2011

Westbound Sign - never played on tour

Tight Wad Hill - never played on tour

Walking Contradiction - played often in 96

Doesn't sound pretty ignored that way

I KNOW!!! I wish that recording had better quality! It's the best ever!

Note all the best songs have been ignored/not played much though. Babs, Stuart and Walking Contradiction have had little to nothing. I freaked out when they did Geek Stink Breath at LCCC. It really shouldn't be THAT big a deal for them to play it, it's not like it's not a reasonably well known single. I don't understand why Brain Stew is THE live song, it doesn't work half as well live since what makes it on the record is the total silence between the chords.

I didn't say live albums were non exsistance just not as widely released by bands/labels as they are now...

also the Bonus CD from AI/21CB from Target.... That's a lot of live albums.

(I'm not sure, but weren't bootleg CDs/tapes widely popular in the 90's, is that why Warner didn't make as many live things then?

Pretty much. Wikipedia lists 177 live albums from 1994 and 180 from 1995, which covers the Dookie era. In comparison, the same list contains 538 from 2006. Obviously that list won't be exhaustive, but it's useful to get a rough idea of what was going on.

Why is it for sale on Amazon then?

Anything can be sold on Amazon, bud.

Ahh, okay; for some reason I thought Amazon doesn't carry bootlegs officially, only through third-party sellers. Guess not.

In the credits on cuatro there is a reference I think it said hotfoot jamboree - what's that.

One of the songs played in the background of one of the scenes.
