MaraGreenDay Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Tre didn't play the intro to Geek Stink Breath right. Thats why billie threw the guitar at him. There is a video of it at a different angle and after he throws it he stares at Tre. Link to that video please?!
laurie_black Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I remember that at the time people said it was because one of his guitar strings broke.
MaraGreenDay Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I remember that at the time people said it was because one of his guitar strings broke. Actually i believe it was that, that's why the guy who picked the guitar looks scared
SumDay Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I think that too, but during iHeart and Reading billie is pissed off for various reason; I don't understand what happened here Pretty sure he was pissed because Tré played the intro wrong as you can hear (better) here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVY3jkK2dU0 And like Billie himself said, he had many "little breakdowns" during the 21st Breakdown (ironic) tour. Nah, he wasn't angry here. He was just being funny. That doesn't look like fun (atleast to me) I think it was an over-reaction to Trè's fail caused by alcohol.

Later, I talked to people who were closer to Bille and they said his guitar string broke. Tré and Mike kept playing and they didn't seem to understand what had happened either.

Well, that could be possible to But if you listen closely you can hear that Tré didn't made that pause in the intro. Hard to explain..hope you get what I mean. And the guitar sound fine to me. Well but I think you know more than me, considering the fact that you were actually there
Certified Nimrod Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 That doesn't look like fun (at least to me) I think it was an over-reaction to Trè's fail caused by alcohol. You don't think it'd be fun to throw some guitars around?

Well but I think you know more than me, considering the fact that you were actually there Nah, it was because his string broke. Shortly after it happened there was a live video Q&A session with Chris Dugan and Bill Schneider on the Idiot Club where they were asked about it, and they said it was because of the string. They also said he threw it in a way that meant it wouldn't get totally broken, that he doesn't mind showing when he's annoyed on stage but he doesn't actually particularly want to break his guitars too badly haha. It had nothing to do with Tre, it was just a coincidence that he threw the guitar behind him. Also you know they've all smashed their instruments for fun/theatrics before right? And that Billie's got annoyed and thrown/mistreated his guitars because they weren't working right loads of times as well? He's always done it, just because he did it at iHeart it doesn't mean it was a big deal every other time as well.

The cause/intent is the important thing, not "z0mg he nearly broke a chunk of wood and metal he's clearly mental and is probably going to die."
halfempty Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Okay, I'm sorry if this has been answered but what exactly was the falling out with Rob Cavallo about? In Cuatro billie says Rob was invited back into the friendship because he really loved the Trilogy, so why exactly was he out? And did they have a falling out with their tour manager Bill Schneider too? Thanks
UNICORN VOMIT Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I remember reading somewhere about GD playing a corporate event. Is that this month?
lizziebix Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I remember reading somewhere about GD playing a corporate event. Is that this month? I think it's in November.
Iva Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Could anybody list me the Kerrangs! with Green Day in them from August on, so I can add them to my purchase list? I have too many windows opened and I got lost. eBay.co.uk links are OK, next to issue numbers and dates they were published. It will be greatly appreciated. Love. <3

I know that they smashed their instruments before. But I think that guitar smashing at iHeart was only that thing that made the media curios. The real point is the F-bomb and so on. But the thing I meant with iHeart is, that Billie seemed to be very pissed (without a real reason) But as I already said the broken string clears everything up for me.
megan_sams11 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Why has Green Day managed to stay together for so long? Not many bands last as long as they have

JIGD13 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Why has Green Day managed to stay together for so long? Not many bands last as long as they have Metallica, Megadeth, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Blink 182, Iron Maiden, Backstreet Boys, Kiss, Motorhead, RHCP, U2, and one of the best examples The Rolling Stones? So why not Green Day?

So why not Green Day? Pretty much all of those apart from U2 have had high profile splits with at least one band member.
WhiteTim Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Pretty much all of those apart from U2 have had high profile splits with at least one band member. The core members have stayed tho...
JIGD13 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Pretty much all of those apart from U2 have had high profile splits with at least one band member. Green Day too
UNICORN VOMIT Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Is there a general thread for meanings of lyrics in the forum
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Metallica, Megadeth, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Blink 182, Iron Maiden, Backstreet Boys, Kiss, Motorhead, RHCP, U2, and one of the best examples The Rolling Stones? So why not Green Day? Blink-182, lulz. They just got back together recently and they're awful now. Hardly comparable.
JIGD13 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Blink-182, lulz. They just got back together recently and they're awful now. Hardly comparable. But they've been in the music for a similar time than Green Day does
