desensitized88 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Does anyone know from which issue of Cometbus zine this picture
bagelfeet Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I think it's a straight up song about having a fling. "Friend" is just a euphemism, he wants to be more than a friend for sure! All fictional of course though, Lady Cobra plays the dangerous, tempting woman and Billie plays the man who gave into the temptation. ok that makes more sense. Thanks
Awesompawsome Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Wait the 75 minute one? The one they uploaded to Youtube a while back? Was that one and hour and fifteen minutes? Yeah the 75 minute one is the 1h 15mn final cut
Jollyroger118 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Really a random question, but I've been listening to the song Lady Cobra a lot lately, and I was wondering if the song is just about Billie putting Lady Cobra into the friend zone? Because if it's not then I would really like to know what the song is actually about I never thought of it like that but I just re-read the lyrics and I think that's actually a good idea
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Does anyone know if you can buy the buttons that came with the trilogy box set anywhere? I lost one of my X buttons while wearing it on my purse.
Punkfreak1414 Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Does anyone else find it amazing that green day recorded 37 songs in nearly 5 months? I thought something like that was impossible. Does anyone know how many hours or times they were in the studio and what days they went to it? Or at least an idea.

Can't remember his name for the life of me though.

It's rare to do it so quick for such big releases, but it's only roughly one song every 5 days on average. If the stuff is already written and you just have to play it and produce it, it's not that hard if you'll really know what you're doing. I have no idea about specifics though, sorry. And Frusciante released 12 albums in 12 months a couple of years back!

Just because they've taken their sweet-ass time before doesn't mean it's necessary. The Beatles recorded their first album in a day and they aren't even close to the only example.
MuricanIDIOT Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Have Green Day ever played Panic Song live?I've looked all over and can't find a performance. 2nd question,Have they ever played Insomniac from front to back?
Todd Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Have Green Day ever played Panic Song live?I've looked all over and can't find a performance. 2nd question,Have they ever played Insomniac from front to back? No and no. Some people think the interlude they play between Brain Stew and Jaded/St Jimmy live is Panic Song, but it's not, it's just a filler interlude jam.

When I saw them live I was even like "the fuck, is this Panic Song?"
green day is Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Seriously? It sounds just like it. When I saw them live I was even like "the fuck, is this Panic Song?" The intro to Panic Song is just tremolo picking on the bass with some chords thrown in on guitar. Same with the interlude. They aren't the same, they just use a similar structure.
Spike Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 So I got the Uno songbook and there are a few writing credits I was wondering about. Anyone have any info on why these specific credits are there? Jeff Shadbolt (from Purple Hearts) - Carpe Diem Mirwais Ahmadzai (producer) - Kill The DJ Chrissie Hynde and James Honeyman-Scott (from The Pretenders) - Loss Of Control

Punkfreak1414 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Wow I didn't know it was someone else's music O.O (by permission) http://louderthanwar.com/the-true-story-of-green-day-and-the-purple-hearts-song/

Jeff Shadbolt (from Purple Hearts) - Carpe Diem Mirwais Ahmadzai (producer) - Kill The DJ Chrissie Hynde and James Honeyman-Scott (from The Pretenders) - Loss Of Control Yeah, there's a Purple Hearts song that has the exact same riff as Carpe Diem, so it was probably a Sam Cooke/Brutal Love sort of thing. The producer on KTDJ could be there for any number of reasons, perhaps have a look into his recording career and see if it gives any reason as to why he'd be involved. The last one is interesting. Maybe LOC also robbed a riff, this time from The Pretenders?
Punkfreak1414 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Loss of control was stolen by the song "pack it up" ( again not stolen because they asked)
