MaraGreenDay Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I'm looking for that interview that Mike did with RS where he talks about Billie's rehab. It's when Mike said "I need to take care of my boy" (or something like that). Can anyone give me the link please?
green day is Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Was 39 smooth or kerplunk tracked live? I think it depends on the song. Even on Dookie, Longview was tracked live and others weren't. No One Knows doesn't sound tracked live whatsoever and on Going to Pasalacqua there's bleed from Billie's headphones at the beginning so make of that what you will.

Todd Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Aaron Cometbus only said he doesn't cash the cheques not that he rips them up , and even that can be taken with a pinch of salt considering it's Aaron Cometbus saying it lol. Everything Aaron said about it in In China With Green Day points towards John just having a very strong set of ideals that he won't compromise, and having moved on from being in Green Day a long time ago. He differs from them ideal-wise, but it seems more like he just doesn't want anything to do with a part of his life that's over than that he's angry. He played on everything before Kerplunk so he'd get quite a lot. He'd get a third of the royalties for 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours (and for 39/Smooth and the two EPs that were combined to make it), and some for Kerplunk as well since there's the Sweet Children EP on the end of it. Must have added up to a lot over the years. However whether he's never cashed them, has stopped cashing them, just didn't cash some of them, or has really cashed all of them is anyone's guess, it's second hand info so I don't think we can take much from it other than it backing up the idea that he feels strongly about his ideals and isn't interested in being associated with Green Day any more. Also, he's credited on Kerplunk for helping produce it or something... and I'm sure I've said this before, but he could at least cash those checks and put the money in his kid's college fund, jeez. What Green Day songs would be easiest for someone learning bass? I can play Green Day and Last Ride In on bass right now and parts of JAR and Kill the DJ and Paper Lanterns.

A little variety, and all are fairly simple.
fatherotti Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 So now I'm asking this question in the right thread haha. So Longview's first appearance was during the Kansas City show in 1992. What about Basket and When I Come Around? When did those first appear??? I think I heard that Basket first appeared during the Silver Dollar Club show in 1993.

Executive Producer would literally be the person who financed the production. Therefore, I always thought that credit was odd.

Liam Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The radio show where Tre premiered Like A Rat Does Cheese: Does the rest of the show exist? Or did they only do that one song? Sure does. You've even commented in the thread in the download section http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/91258-20010801-petroleum-museum-seattle-washington-usa/?hl=%2Bseattle#entry5433912

Relies mostly on already existent interviews and interviews with people "related" to the band, but there's some good stuff in there, and it's an entertaining read.
