green day is Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 And what do people mean by its over produced? Basically what they mean is they want Green Day to just make Dookie over and over and over again.
WhiteTim Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I don't like it because there are a lot of the emo/goth stereotype people associated with it, I don't want to be clumped with those guys. I don't think it was overproduced, it's got a perfect feel. It's the trilogy that was overproduced, if anything. 21CB is supposed to sound grand and kinda Queen-ish Again nothing on trilogy was over produced Please learn what over production means before using it
Awesompawsome Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Is the Cuatro documentary still on YouTube? I can't seem to find it. Do they still record them all though? It's on Vimeo still but I think it was taken off YouTube
Jon Benjamin Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 i guess they don't play Lazy Bones maybe because it's still to personnal to Billie and Kill the DJ because it sucks. (sorry haha don't be mad) but seriously nobody knows. maybe they want to keep some suprises for the rest of the tour like they did when they added Stray Heart, Nuclear Family & Missing You (those weren't playing in the first leg). hope they gonna add DRB soon though.I was at the first arena show of the tour (Chicago) and they played Stray Heart, it just wasn't an every night thing.
Todd Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Again nothing on trilogy was over produced Please learn what over production means before using it Nah, it was a tad bit over produced. It wasn't like massively overproduced, but they put a lot of work and money and time into recording it the wrong way for the sound they wanted.

If trilogy was over produced then 39 Smooth is a Justin Bieber cd...
fatherotti Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Can't you just rip the cd to flac? I had no idea you could do that lol.

It hurts to see that on a Green Day site. Saying you don't like an album just because it is associated with a stereotype of people. That's what Green Days about, not caring what other people think about even if you follow a "stereotypical" path and they stand for breaking those stereotypes not being emo, punk, goth and all that. Just being a part of the Green Day family.
green day is Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 That's what Green Days about, I just like their music. If being a fanboy makes you happy, though...
amdr182 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 In Billie's last Rolling Stone interview he said that he can't even listen to Lazy Bones anymore (because of what he went through) so I can't imagine it'll get played for a while. Who knows why they haven't played Kill the DJ. Kind of weird for them not to considering it was a single and all. I strongly believe Lazy Bones will never be played live again. It is one of those songs who brings up so many bad memories for him. It's like Restless Heart Syndrome, he said he never wants to play that song live again. And I love Kill The DJ, it sounds awesome live, I don't get why they don't play that song anymore. They should have Kill The DJ, Makeout Party, Wild One and 8th Avenue Seranade back on their setlist. By the way, I saw on GD Torrents the setlist for a 2011 show and Dirty Rotten Bastards is included on the setlist - http://www.gdtorrent.com/live_guide.php?op=show&id=1556 Is that true? Because I thought it was never played live.

Here's what I have: Soundcheck - Supermodel Robots - Stop, Drop And Roll Show 01 - Monster Mash 02 - Hybrid Moments (The Misfits cover / 3 times in a row) 03 - Carpe Diem 04 - Stray Heart 05 - Oh Love 06 - Make Out Party 07 - Sweet 16 08 - Stop, Drop And Roll 09 - It's Fuck Time 10 - Blue Moon Of Kentucky (Elvis Presley cover) Encore 11 - Murder City 12 - Letterbomb 13 - Hitchin' A Ride 14 - Geek Stink Breath 15 - She 16 - Welcome To Paradise 17 - 2,000 Light Years Away 18 - Paper Lanterns 19 - 1,000 Hours 20 - Going To Pasalacqua 21 - Monster Mash Outro I found it on setlist.com. So it might not be the most accurate site.
green day is Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 IDK if it was that show, but yes, DRB has been played.
DoodleBob Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I don't like it because there are a lot of the emo/goth stereotype people associated with it, I don't want to be clumped with those guys. Please tell me you're joking...

Just being a part of the Green Day family. Hey, I don't tell you how to live your life. I like 21st Century Breakdown. I don't openly like it at school because there are some peoplt that I know that are total posers and claim to love Green Day, but only that one album. I'd prefer not to be associated with those certain people. Is that a problem? Am I not allowed to have my own opinion? I didn't realize I had to live my life according to Green Day. You probably think that I should also hate George Bush and that smoking weed or doing meth is okay because of Green Day? You're judging me because I judge other people. You're just as guilty here. You don't know me, I don't know you. The people at my school that I don't want to be associated with, I DO know them. GDT is pretty accurate usually, but I don't have the same setlist for this show. So it might not be the most accurate site. That setlist is complete bullshit. Don't use tht site for old shows pr sectret shows. They played Loss of Control as the opener, remember in cuatro? They also played Fell for You, we have clips of that, and they did not play 1000 hours

WhiteTim Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 IDK if it was that show, but yes, DRB has been played. Supposedly at Webster Hall but only confirm we have is the printed setlist I have a friend who was there and she doesnt remember it being played
JIGD13 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 A superband is a band formed by other band member that had worldwide success. But my question is does The Network, Pinhead Gunpowder and The Foxboro Hot Tubs count as superbands?

No They're side bands Superband would be say Billie Bono James Hetfield Flea and Dave Grohl formed a band
Jon Benjamin Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 No They're side bands Superband would be say Billie Bono James Hetfield Flea and Dave Grohl formed a bandThat would be insane. A good example is that one with Dave Grohl and I think someone from Zepplin
Asa. Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 That would be insane. A good example is that one with Dave Grohl and I think someone from Zepplin Them Crooked Vultures with Josh Homme and John Paul Jones Wouldn't FBHT sort of be a super group, with Kevin Preston?
WhiteTim Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Them Crooked Vultures with Josh Homme and John Paul Jones Wouldn't FBHT sort of be a super group, with Kevin Preston? Is primma donna a huge group? I wouldnt say so
Iva Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Why do a lot of people not care for 21st century breakdown that much? I admit I har mixed feelings for it but its not a bad album. For the people that kinda don't like it or just hate it why do you? What is it that isn't liked? And what do people mean by its over produced? I think they're trying to say that it's too polished compared to other Green Day albums. Trilogy songs were recorded in a single take to have overdubs added later and the first four albums took very little time to make. I don't like it because there are a lot of the emo/goth stereotype people associated with it, I don't want to be clumped with those guys. I don't think it was overproduced, it's got a perfect feel. It's the trilogy that was overproduced, if anything. 21CB is supposed to sound grand and kinda Queen-ish Hey, I don't tell you how to live your life. I like 21st Century Breakdown. You don't know me, I don't know you. The people at my school that I don't want to be associated with, I DO know them. ...I was ready to ask you what on Earth were you on about, until I read the word "school" and that's where I stopped. Would not want to go through school and liking things ever again. However, there's one thing I'm sure of: never judge a band, artist or a genre through its fans. A lot of people who like my favourite musician do worse drugs than what you think an average Green Day fan should (?!?!) and that doesn't stop me from being straight-edge myself. Imagine if everybody who liked Queen was trying to dress like Freddie? As for PRODUCTION, if you want an example of an overproduced album, look at every other thing in today's mainstream pop.
Asa. Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Is primma donna a huge group? I wouldnt say so Well they did some sort of short European tour recently, so they're known outside of California for sure, maybe not huge
