Don't trust it unless it actually has proof.

Asa. Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 i think it said melodica, and makeout party does have one so it could've been a real info leak with the song mixed up It was a mellotron that it said X-Kid had, which it doesnt.
Jon Benjamin Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 It was a mellotron that it said X-Kid had, which it doesnt. Is that what's in Ruby Room?
Asa. Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Is that what's in Ruby Room? It sounds like some sort of rock organ that's in Ruby Room
fatherotti Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 So what is the deal with Green Day's Pre-Dookie material? Is it hard to remaster because it was never converted to digital? I cite Rock Band on this issue. Tre said it himself, the last time they looked all the Pre-Dookie was still on analog tape which is why they had problems getting it on Rock Band. I find it hard to believe that they never went back and converted them. Unless they forgot all about them.

green day is Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 They said the master recordings are in bad shape and arent in shape to be used Actually it's kinda both, they're on analog tape, and apparently to convert them you have to use some sort of heat, and they're in such bad shape that they'd only have one attempt at it. So like if it doesn't work the first time they'd be destroyed and they wouldn't have them at all anymore.
fatherotti Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 They said the master recordings are in bad shape and arent in shape to be used That sucks, a lot. Probably why a lot of people complained about the Kerplunk remaster, It wasn't properly done because they didn't have the master tapes.

green day is Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 That doesn't sound like any kind of recording tape I've heard of needs heat to be played? IDK about the heat part. I think it has to do with the condition they're in, not the type of tape. I read it around the time Rock Band came out when they were talking about why there wouldn't be any pre-Dookie stuff on it.

Yeah i think they mean the tape are in bad shape that playing it would destroy em You wouldnt want heat on tape even if the tapes were brand new cause the heat would melt it
green day is Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Yeah i think they mean the tape are in bad shape that playing it would destroy em You wouldnt want heat on tape even if the tapes were brand new cause the heat would melt it I don’t know if you know about analog tapes, but to transfer them you need to play them. They are kind of stuck together right now. You have to “bake” them, and then you have one chance to run it over the machine to transfer it to make stems. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/05/06/green-day-s-tre-cool-talks-about-green-day-rock-band-future-dlc.aspx ____________ Where did the name "Jaded in Chicago" come from? fatherotti Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Did the guys ever win back the rights to Pre-Dookie? Why didn't they take the rights with them in the first place? lol
green day is Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Did the guys ever win back the rights to Pre-Dookie? Why didn't they take the rights with them in the first place? lol I thought they got them around 04? [Edit:] Oh no I remember, Lookout stopped paying royalties and then they took them. So yeah, Reprise has them right now and everything's in order.
Todd Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Did the guys ever win back the rights to Pre-Dookie? Why didn't they take the rights with them in the first place? lolthey left the rights with L/O in 94 because Lookout was very good to them and they felt lookout deserved any sales they'd get from Green Day's fame
WhiteTim Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 they left the rights with L/O in 94 because Lookout was very good to them and they felt lookout deserved any sales they'd get from Green Day's fame Yeah but they got the rights to em cause now Green Day Inc now owns them and Reprise distributes em
Todd Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Yeah but they got the rights to em cause now Green Day Inc now owns them and Reprise distributes emyes, now they do.
fatherotti Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Ok here's one!...now I know there can't be a topic based on this question so I'll just ask it here. If any of you could a take setlist from any show in Green Day's Twenty...four? year span? lol Which show would that be? Mine would be from a show I came across recently which I think has the most perfect setlist Green Day has ever done. Can you imagine this setlist now in days?! It's damn near perfect! (2001-07-21) University Of Irvine, Bren Events Center, Irvine California Nice Guys Finish Last Castaway Church on Sunday Longview Welcome to Paradise The Ballad of Wilhelm Fink (Billie Joe solo) Hitchin' a Ride Brain Stew Jaded J.A.R.
