green day is Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Do you have their Lookout! It's the Lookouts demo tape? That has some covers and shit on it and it's really rare http://www.discogs.com/Lookouts-Lookout-Its-The-Lookouts/release/3099409 I'd love to hear their version of Like a Rolling Stone compared to Green Day's Other than the one song California, no one has that. I talked to Larry Livermore through email and he says that he has it somewhere in his apartment, and that if he ever finds it he'll convert it to digital, along with one or two live shows. It didn't sound like he was actively looking for it, though, more like an "if I happen upon it".
Tussnelda Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I've read a couple of times that they almost broke up after Warning. Is there any actual source on that or is it just rumours? Don't know if it's a real "source", but people who are close to them talk about it in the Driven biography. Starts pretty late in part 3 (I think around 8:00) and goes on in part 4.

I messaged someone here on GDC who said they had it, they said they'd rip it for me, but they haven't been on in forever. I also asked Larry, he said he has no idea where it is
DirtyRottenForgotten Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 He doesn't hate it, but it's a song that maybe brings back bad memories to him... Now that we know he was taking pills, I think the lyrics of this song are very personal and sad. He said the process of writing this song was very hard for him. Here's the quote he said about it in Kerrang magazine: "When I listen to Restless Heart Syndrome I remember what it took to record that song. It was the most tedious process, so I never want to live through that moment ever again. I like the song but I don't want to hear it." Thank you!
LazyPhil Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I've read a biography on Green Day and it said that they almost broke up after Dookie and after Warning. I don't remember the reasoning behind the almost breakups. I'm sure someone else can offer greater insight, but (as far as I know) yes, that is true. Remember Bullet In A Bible? Mike said that at some point after Warning Billie Joe called him and said quote unquote "Do you even wanna do this anymore?" At that point they had enough money for the rest of their lives so they were really thinking about breaking up.
WhiteTim Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I'm sure every band who's been around for a long time as had moments of wanting to break up
ThibautDookie Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 What is the first interview that Green Day did in 1994 ?
SamMacs Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Don't know if it's a real "source", but people who are close to them talk about it in the Driven biography. Starts pretty late in part 3 (I think around 8:00) and goes on in part 4. Thanks. Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking about it, forgot about Driven. Those people are as close as it possible gets so I'd defintely consider it as a real source.
Jon Benjamin Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Are there any recordings from the 1-2-3-4 Go show?
Liam Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Are there any recordings from the 1-2-3-4 Go show? Unfortunately there is not, if there was, they'd be in the downloads section
JIGD13 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Anyone else thinks that the MCR Danger Days font is the same that the Green Day font on ¡UNO! ¡DOS! and ¡TRÉ!
JIGD13 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I just saw the interview to Broadway Idiot director and he said that Billie send him a clip from a 2 year performance of himself, I read about it but I can't remember what was it about?
Cath Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Anyone else thinks that the MCR Danger Days font is the same that the Green Day font on ¡UNO! ¡DOS! and ¡TRÉ! Exactly the same yes!
Florence Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Anyone else thinks that the MCR Danger Days font is the same that the Green Day font on ¡UNO! ¡DOS! and ¡TRÉ! I don't think so. It's a similar font but not the same. Just look at the "G"s, they are different.
jacknovella Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Billie Joe mentioned in the RS interview that he'd like to do more stuff with Green Day that's 100% live. I'm presuming here he means recording songs in a more straightforward manner and without as much production, and possibly recording all the instrument parts at the same time...am I wrong? What exactly does he mean by that?
green day is Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Who are the copycats? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's the one that came out second.
WhiteTim Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's the one that came out second. Lol well that'd be Green Day
JJ5272 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 hi i was just wondering if anyone knew who the opening band is for the show in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Thanks !
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 hi i was just wondering if anyone knew who the opening band is for the show in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Thanks ! Best Coast, I believe.
blitzkriegdeb Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Like Florence said, the fonts are really similar but they're different. The spacing between the branches of the E is smaller on the GD one (it might be because the Danger Days font looks stretched, but who knows) and the Gs are different.
fatherotti Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Ok here's one. May have been asked already but... Besides the albums listed below*** 1000 Hours American Idiot 21st Century Breakdown Have Green Day ever played any of their other albums live in full? (Trilogy not listed because the band is still touring it) Kerplunk Dookie Insomniac Nimrod Warning

(Trilogy not listed because the band is still touring it) Kerplunk Dookie (Rumored to have been played at a Gilman 93 show) Insomniac Nimrod Warning Gilman is probably fake and no.
