St_Jimmy_10 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I never got to see Before The Lobotomy live which i was quite gutted about. From 21CB id take dropping KYE for Horseshoes and Handgrenades anyday. From American Idiot the only song id love to still hear is Whatsername, that songs gives me the chills! Before the lobotomy is amazing. I would love to see Homecoming, Letterbomb and Whatsername live.
ChelseaDagger Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Did anyone else notice, only one hey-ohh? and one "get those hands up in the air?" I thought there'd be a "let's go!" for sure at the start of one of the songs!!!!! Oh BJ I love your stage antics
WhiteTim Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I dont remember the specifics but he had a hard time recording that song and was never really into it in the first place but butch vig pressured him to record that song anyways i think they only played RHS live once. Theyve played it during the April 09 shows the three or four times they performed the whole album live but after that maybe once? If that
Kitty Purry Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Amen....except Peacemaker. That song is tits. I was so bummed they never played that song live but when you think about you can say that about a lot of 21cb songs they really didn't liked that album all too much i think
Justin Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 last part of rant: They are pretty good about playing the right deep cuts from albums, but they seriously neglect some great tunes on Dookie, Insomniac, and Nimrod: Having a Blast, Emenius Sleepus, No Pride, Westbound Sign, Worry Rock, etc. They could take out all the Hey-OHHHHHHHHHs and put in 15 more songs. Im going to be honest and go a little off topic but i see this coming up all the time and in truth, i have said it myself regarding the whole KFAD/SHOUT routine. This is what makes a Green Day show though, the constant interaction, the shouting, the sing alongs, the randomness. I always find Green Day shows are more like a fucking party than a concert, they are the only ones i ever find myself jumping for hours and shouting too yet not worrying about getting battered by the next crowd surge. I am one of the biggest Jimmy Eat World fans you could meet, and believe it or not, the criticisms i always here from JEW fans after shows...... not enough interaction. Jim Adkins speaks occasionally but generally play song after song after song (perfectly i must add). The only time he will ever say anything is after the first song the standard "we are Jimmy Eat World from Mesa, Arizona" and near the end of the set saying "thanks for coming to hang with us tonight", with the exceptions of introducing songs. Yet i still feel Green Day concerts go faster than JEW shows. Its a lose lose scenario Before the lobotomy is amazing. I would love to see Homecoming, Letterbomb and Whatsername live. Letterbomb is a brutal song live, full power, fucking epic

bahhumbug737 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 21cb just really drags. The songs sound kind of different, but don't stand out at all. Easily my least favorite album.
WhiteTim Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 ow okay I thought they only played the whole album once. my bad They played the full at The Independence Fox Theatre DNA and i think one other venue all in Cali tho I wish Peacemaker and Little Girl were in rotation
iScottie Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Honestly, if they could play these songs for their upcoming tour, I would shit myself. I'm trying my best not to go overboard. 21st Century Breakdown: Peacemaker See The Light 1039 / Smoothed Out Slappy Hours: At The Library Disappearing Boy Going To Pasalacqua I Was There American Idiot: American Idiot Jesus Of Suburbia Homecoming Letterbomb Shoplifter Whatsername Dookie: Basket Case Emenius Sleepus F.O.D. Longview She When I Come Around Insomniac: Armatage Shanks Brain Stew Brat Jaded No Pride Panic Song Stuck With Me International Superhits: Poprocks And Coke Kerplunk: Christie Road Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? Nimrod: Good Riddance Hitchin' A Ride King For A Day / Shout Prosthetic Head Redundant Scattered Unannounced Album Songs: 99 Revolutions (Tre I think) Uno: Fell For You Kill The DJ Let Yourself Go Nuclear Family Rusty James Stay The Night Warning: Blood, Sex, And Booze Jackass Macy's Day Parade Minority Warning What the fuck is wrong with a 47 song setlist? I want this to be the setup: Main Set Electric Encore Acoustic / Electric Encore (BJA plays the acoustic) Acoustic Solo Encore (BJA alone)

Oh for fuck sake ...... 21st Century Breakdown is over , done , finished This is a new era and this topic here is not about how good or bad 21st cb was Move on ?

Some of their 3 minute songs last like 10 min because of those. Last time I saw them, it was like every other song and when they started, my friend and I would just look at each other, shake our head, and laugh. It was a great opportunity to have a cigarette or go to the bathroom.

I'd love to see Letterbomb though.
BradGreenDay Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 That preformance was nothing exciting really they needed to play some new songs... they should have played nuclear family where murder city or know your enemy was in the setlist....
lizziebix Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Anyone see Holiday on a setlist? Someone mentioned on twitter about the representative of NY...must mean they played Holiday. /back on topic

I believe myself that lets be honest the guys are ex drug addicts and only really started to become "healthy", that it is sort of a chill out period with ever leaving the stage and keeping the mood going. I guess it allows them to keep playing 3 hour shows. Yes very controversial post
iScottie Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Anyone see Holiday on a setlist? Someone mentioned on twitter about the representative of NY...must mean they played Holiday. /back on topic It's on the setlist. It's #5 in the left column.

Justin Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Interesting discussion time whilst we wait for next update.... Green Day bring there own 2 security guys to each show (maybe more but i always see the same 2, big bald guy in the stream earlier, just to stay close to topic), what do you reckon? good friends that have no musical talent or just some big bad ass blokes from Berkley
lizziebix Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 It's on the setlist. It's #5 in the left column. Thanks!
