PaulS Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 While not a Rhianna fan at all but her albums dont have cover songs... No, but they're all created by a team of producers. While Rhianna is touring, her next album is being created for her. It's the equivalent of Green Day getting off tour, and Rob Cavallo is waiting there with an album for them to sing on. The Beach Boys never stopped touring, meanwhile Brian was at home writing and laying down tracks with the wrecking crew. All the band had to do was complete the vocals between tours. With Brian Wilson at the studio, The Beach Boys as history recognises them were not touring. If Billie Joe stayed in Oakland while Mike and Tre went on tour, you would hardly use that as evidence for Green Day being able to tour and create albums simultaneously.

Oh yes because we all know rap and r&b are the ONLY genre who uses other writers riiiggghhhtttt? And Beach Boys were a very much a touring group...

And yet... if in the 1990s someone had said to me that Green Day and the Beach Boys (can I call them that even though Carl & Dennis are deceased?) would be touring and releasing new albums in 2012 I would never have believed them. Even stranger, both are listed to be in the new season of Later..with JH and could even be on the same bill. Maybe Billie will get a chance to have a happier meeting with one of his heroes ?
Kitty Purry Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 nice review but RS is full of shit nowadays. They gave nicki minaj's roman reloaded 4 stars and that album is a MESS.
ChelseaDagger Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 "pop-smart here's-my-fucking-problem miniatures" that was my favorite line of the article!!!!! They gave nicki minaj's roman reloaded 4 stars and that album is a MESS. That makes me want to throw up a little.
Kitty Purry Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 That makes me want to throw up a little. if it makes you feel better the community gave it 2 stars
The Grohl Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Glad that the album got a good score though I really don't care for magazine reviews. Green Day just always seem to get a lot of shit lately.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Glad that the album got a good score though I really don't care for magazine reviews. Green Day just always seem to get a lot of shit lately. So basically, you're saying: "I'm glad it's good, but I don't care."? Uh...what?
Femme Gauche Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 So basically, you're saying: "I'm glad it's good, but I don't care."? Uh...what? Glad it's good because it is nice they get positive press, but not going to have an effect on (his) personal opinion, I would imagine. So, yes, it makes sense.

So, yes, it makes sense. Why would I listen to you? You don't have a penis. Which i don't either, but I do have an abnormally shapped tumor under my bellybutton.
Mar Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I like reviews that make me excited to hear an album. This is such a review. (Obviously I already want to hear it, but the descriptions are piquing my interest more.)
iRun Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Me: "hey dad rolling stone gave ¡Uno! a 4/5 star rating!" Dad: "that means it's going to sucks. Did you see what they rated American Idiot?" Haha I hope he's wrong.
in_your_face Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 fucking exciting! iUno! is definitely a hit from what said in this review!

So, yes, it makes sense. Yeah that's basically what I meant. I usually don't let magazine reviews dictate which albums I'm going to listen to, but it's nice that it's getting some good press. Someone got it lol
Starred Thoughts Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 This review has me even more excited now, especially after the little snippet of lyrics for "Loss of Control". Looking forward to that one from those lyrics alone. That being said, I am pleased that RS had given Warning 4 stars.

justcause Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I liked the comparison of Troublemaker to U2's Vertigo. It makes perfect sense and explains why I don't really like the song When I heard the trilogy titles, the first thing I thought of was 'Vertigo', because - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaV5UCMsW-8
