I really like that they stop taking fans onstage to play guitar/sing. I know it is funny for some people, as well as a great oportunity to meet the band and live an unforgettable moment.

But most of the times, people playing/singing really SUCK. In the Madrid concert, in 2009, the girl that went onstage to sing Longview was AWFUL. Not only she had a terrible voice, but she didn't knew the lyrics! That's unforgivable. She was the kind of "fan" that is in the first row because her mother was wainting outside the arena for days, that just listens to a few songs of AI and 21CB...that made me mad.

Even Billie Joe himself told her to get out of the stage, saying literally "you suck". It was not funny at all, it ruined the song (because she "sang" the whole song, despite being such a pain).

I have nothing against fans jumping off the stage, or singing a couple of lines (like in Know Your Enemy), but more than that, I don't want it.

He's saying they lost money on the tour. It does occasionally happen - I believe Lady Gaga said the same thing a year or two ago, although she obviously has much higher costs than Green Day do (and ticket prices to match!).

What? I remember articles about how Green Day's 21stCB tour was one of the highest grossing ones of the year.

Kinda sucks though. I guess that means we won't get fancy LED backdrops anymore. Or maybe we will. What do I know. :P

Maybe it just means that we can expect higher ticket prices.

From an entirely selfish point of view, the fact im now 23 and by the next time ill see them ill be 24, the chances of me ever getting to play on stage is slim to none.

The amount of times iv heard someone play the wrong chords or sing awfully always bums me out.

With all due respect the guy that played Pasalaqua at Shepherds Bush didnt fully know the song, he had played them in the wrong order many times not to mention not playing the fmajor,

Unless they sold it, maybe they will just use the same one

See personally id think they would want to resolve things if its a minor fight like "personal stuff" before going on stage as it would probably ruin the aspect of things. So i guess they just spoke things through or whatever.

I did find it interesting however that when they said "sound check" that night we didnt actually hear anything. Usually you can hear bands soundchecking from quite a distance, not to mention we were stood outside the door where it would be obvious to hear.

I remember seeing Mike standing on stage with his bass, but couldn't actually hear anything, even with both doors open. Maybe they were fighting from there, managed to talk things through, then Billie was still being a diva so just sent Tré out there.

"Y'know, I'm fucking pissed off, so I'm not starting the fucking show. Maybe Tré should start it for once, y'know."

Grossing, maybe. That isn't the same as the net profit, which could easily have been less than zero after their costs were all deducted. I'm as surprised as you are, but he says it right there.

I always took 'All By Myself' to be a playful nod to all the Dookie rumours coming from Reading, but maybe not. It made for a great, unique opening to the show though, so maybe they should argue more often

haha, the use of personal stuff does intrigue me though. Id love to know what it was about as i cant imagine it was something dickish like credits or money

I don't think if it was really serious he would bring it up in a magazine like that, like he said it happens all the time which is natural. Don't think there's any point in really dwelling on it. the diva thing, while probably true, sounded like a joke to be honest

I was waiting for this! :woot: So happy for GD Q&A... but then Billie Joe... Billie Joe Q&A

Many questions about death :ermm: wtf. But his answers are honest. My favorite part was "...I was being a total diva" I wonder how that looks like :P

Thanks for the scans :)
