Holly Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Fucking awesome! Can't wait to listen to this in the car with some decent bass, not through these speakers.... Jesus I need this song right now. Yeah, I agree, these shitty laptop speakers really aren't doing it any justice. I've listened on repeat now and I bloody love it. So good.
The Pedestrian Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 ...but ever since American Idiot I don't think the songwriting has any particular ache, grudge, or legitimate spark. Sure, it makes me want to grab my guitar and play along, clap my hands and smile a bit, but I genuinely have no desire to lose myself to any of these songs. Then why is your username a Kill The DJ lyric?
CemeteryDrive Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 The GDA preview is such a tease... I want this!
~ Walking Contradiction Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I love it so this is the second single for the US or what?
Rusty Hart Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 oh no, awesome... it's surprise from Green Day
Soroush Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Tunestin download konin? Fek konam bayad chan ruz sab konim ta beshe downloadesh kard na hanuz, be mahze inke link gir biaram midam behet
Malleus Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 It doesn't feel as repetitive as the live version for some reason. Maybe this is some kind of placebo effect but whatever. The song is awesome regardless, it has so much energy!
jacknovella Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Yeah, I agree, these shitty laptop speakers really aren't doing it any justice. I've listened on repeat now and I bloody love it. So good. I'm almost tempted to stop listening until it's with better speakers...but no, it's too good to stop XD I imagine it'll sound amazing with some actual bass behind it too
sampy Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Nice surprise from the band! Really cool song, I like the aggresive, energetic and punk vibe of it. To my ear there isn't so huge difference between live and studio version, I like both!
Katarina. Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 That artwork is That's all I have to say about this, haha. I'm going to wait two more weeks so that I can listen to the whole ¡Uno! record. Wow, so soon!
iRun Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!! LAUGHED SOOO HARD
jtdscape Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Someone might have already said this, butttttt my bet is that this will be the song Green Day is playing at the VMAs tonight and they will want people to be able to buy it after they play it.
Hermione Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!! LAUGHED SOOO HARD Ahaha me too. It's so great
Sarcasm Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Just listened to it on youtube a while ago http://2dfc41d0.miniurls.co what the fuck are you linking to?
Neon Light Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Pure awesomeness from Green Day once again. My fear after they released the live version was that the studio version would not do it justice but boy was I mistaken. The harmonies at the start of the first chorus are fantastic.
Brigister Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Why does he say "I don't give a damn" the first time? D: lol at 1:10 SHUUUT THE FUUUUUUUCK UUUUUUUUUUUP in the background ahahaha
gerardsangel4977 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 It's funny: With "Oh Love" and "Kill the DJ", I absolutely fell in love with them both via live bootlegs, then found the studio recordings somewhat lackluster in comparison. With "Let Yourself Go", I found myself largely unimpressed with what I'd heard of it in live clips, but now that I've heard the studio version, I love it so much more
elisa Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Someone might have already said this, butttttt my bet is that this will be the song Green Day is playing at the VMAs tonight and they will want people to be able to buy it after they play it. god, i hope so. it would be so fitting!

That's the first thing I thought when I saw that it was posted! iTunes usually adds music at 11 PM and that's about when this popped up, so it was meant to go up today (Thursday). It'd be way too coincidental for them to not be trying to capitalize on their performance tonight!
Shoot That Fucker Down Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Then why is your username a Kill The DJ lyric? Because it's catchy and fun. I've never said I've hated these songs at all. I'm a self-admitted Green Day fanboy, and the new songs do in fact rock. However because I'm an old school fool I don't think the new stuff will ever hold a candle to the GD albums of my youth that shaped me. I think we all can relate to that.
Irrlicht Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Thats why I'm loving this fucking band, always amazing surprises, always mindblowing songs <3
